I think the mentor gave Carmelo the wrong song to sing. He seems the light-hearted kind of person but WWFM has a pleading overtone and needs someone to sing it with passion. If I feel right, it's the rumba, not quite sure if it fits WWFM but I love the rumba dance, very elegant. Carmelo doesn't hit the notes directly especially the high notes. But I like his effervescent personality. :) Lam-my
First off, kudos to Mel B for name checking Adam and choosing that song......just a shame it wasn't for someone else.....this lad has a very mediocre voice.
2nd thing, Ronan keating is just lovely, why can't Idol have a judge like him.
Lam-my, you're too kind. I'm afraid Carmelo's effervescence fizzled here; his performance only underscores the mastery and brilliance of Adam's, which spoils it for some, like Carmelo, and shows it up for others, like Zhang Wei. As his mentor said, we must give Carmelo props; like Bieber, he did finish the song. atm
atm Hey how is my partner-in-crime...lol! I was referring to his personal effervescence; his smile and bravery to the judges' onslaught, not his effervescence pertaining to the delivery of the song itself. I doubt he can make it to the top few positions. Lam-my
Not a day goes by that I don't listen to Ronan Keating...nap or bedtime music...This I Promise You...When You Say Nothing at All...If Tomorrow Never Comes...The Way You Make Me Feel! His sweet husky voice is so soothing...JAK
The kid gave it a good try, but didn't hit the mark. Oh well. I think these shows DO have to pay for these songs. Adam's songs are used a lot of these shows world-wide. Hope he gets a cut.
Gotta agree , he seems like a nice kid with a pretty good voice . But, making him sing an Adam Lambett song , those shoe are just too big to fill... with of without socks. ...lol...rose petal
I think more goes to Pink as the songwriter than the singer when it comes to royalty. It was Dolly Parton who raked in the royalties of I Will Always Love You, not Whitney Houston.
Yes,kudos to Mel B...a judge that DOES know Adam Lambert and WWFM (hear that Levine?). I agree, he really had to stretch to reach some of those notes and even hand movements that come so naturally to Adam.
I really like MEL B and I'm so happy she chose Adam's song and actually mentioned his name, Adam Lambert! That being said, this song was totally out of Carmelo's range although you could see he gave it his all. It really makes you realize how hard it is to sing Adam's songs (yes, I consider it Adam's song!) Our master songbird sings so effortlessly. It always amazed me when on Idol people would say Adam screams. If that's the case, he always screamed on key! My point is, Adam was always singing because all the notes were within his reach. That can not be said of many singers that I know. You just cannot touch Adam - his voice, movements, gestures - never awkward or strained - just graceful and beautiful! nancdruuu2

He just needs more experience singing. He didn't connect with the song. Nobody can touch Adam Lambert on this one.
I don't watch this show...do the mentors choose the songs?...In this case...big mistake....JAK

Do these reality shows have to pay to use these songs? Just all of a sudden wondering that.
