No surprise to me!!:)
Way to go Tokyo! You do Adam proud.
Ok, GMA NEWS, now why don't you write a story about this SOLD OUT show? Why not write about Adam Lambert's amazing worldwide career from time to time? Adam Lambert and his millions of fans deserve your positive coverage.
But do remember, this is a little venue (only about 2000-3000 seats, I think)in a big city like Tokyo. And several concerts. I´m just wondering. Apparently they were cautious and took no risks.
OKay ... Debbie Downer. Don't forget there are THREE (3) concerts in Tokyo alone ... then on to other JAPANESE cities ... capacity be damned!! Also Japanese economy isn't that great right now ...
My daughter is a huge Daughtry fan... she recently went to a concert in Tulsa the last time he was there he was at sprint center... very large... This time he was at much smaller venue... she said there weren't that many people there.... so I think selling out any venue anywhere in these uncertain times is a big deal ....sad they aren't gonna do a US tour bet Glamberts would make sure it sold out everywhere .... rose petal
Sure wish Adam would do lots of small venue performances in Canada (and US) - it would give us all a chance to see him up closer and maybe have a more intimate performance.
@ 12:59 my wish too! I can't believe Adam would have trouble selling out similar venues to GNT his tour.

Here is Adam in Tokyo with sold out shows and for whatever the reasons, he can't put a Trespassing tour together for his fans here at home. I don't understand this at all. And after watching his performances esp. of Stay and Underneath, I am sure he would sell out venues to his devoted fans and other music lovers who need to see him perform this roster of songs. Adam owns the stage and is an amazing performer both musically and visually.
It takes money ahead of time to put together a tour even if small venues would sell out. Add the urgency to get back in the studio to get another album out and a North American tour just isn't realistic. I'm sure Adam would do it if he could and he is probably as disappointed as we are. We want that third album out fast (and to do better than Trespassing) so there is a another big tour in the future.
It is good it's sold out but this is a pretty small venue, just a 2000 seat capacity. And with many fans seeing all three shows, that's less than 6000 different people seeing him. That is not a lot of people in a city the size of Tokyo with a population of over 13 million people.
Today's show was sparkling .So much joyful energy . Adam (and the whole band on FIRE .. Adam sexy ,playful, happy. Tomorrow just GO FOR IT !!!
Adam's show wouldn't do well in the US unless he didn't use his dancers and put his backup singers in the background. I'm not saying he should do that. I am saying I believe they are a big drawback to his show here. I think his reviews would be much better here without them.
3:54, of course the show would go over in the US. Have you seen Gaga's or Rihanna's or Pink's shows? If anything Adam's show isn't big enough.
I think word of mouth of Adam's talent could light a fuse during a tour, but as long as the dancers and backup singers are doing gaudy skits and changing clothes onstage while Adam changes off stage instead of the band playing kickbutt music, it hasn't much of a chance.
4:15, that may be your taste but I like the dancers and back up singers. And word of mouth doesn't sell a tour. An artist has to already have a large fan base or be currently blowing up.
You have a point that he isn't big enough, since he doesn't have a hit from Treapassing, but I still think his dancers and singers would be a liability for many new fans in the US at this time.
Hi Rosr Pedal, have not heard from you! Miss you girl. I believe one of them on Japan is pretty large! The first two shows of Toyeo sold out instantly a direct quote from Adam! Couple weeks or more weeks ago said third one almost sold out, if it does not the day of it 21, the walk in tickets will probably do it, was not many left when he said it couple of weeks ago! He has 7 in Asia altogether so far all been sold out! The ones that or not probably will be with walk in tickets! If it makes it that late in the day before they sale few left! Adam sales A bunch of merchandise, glad he split with 19 before these concerts, so him RCA and whoever else will have a larger profit margin off the merchandise! At GNT, in Houston they were buying his stuff like crazy, they were averaging close to 100 or more a person, I bought 50! He came sept. 8, 2010 it was the exsact day of my birthday! My middle girl bought ticket for my BD and bought one for my older daughter to take me! Adam cocert tickets at that tme were a third of the price they are now, in the year of 2010!
Two ticket ran around 160 with all fees added!with fee's. Those tickets with fees are running much higer now for Adam, of couse worth all of it and more! I was in the balcony, I could here him quite well, what a beautiful voice, even better in live concert, he has such a rare, rare talent! That was at a about three thousand capacity! U could not see him hardly at all, did not have a I phone, whatever you call them then, either! So at the big ones if they do not have the big tv things there it be reall hard see him, in some seats! It was great to do the concerts there in three smaller ones, so much more personal, but lots more work for Adam! He does enjoy that closer personal action with his fans.Adam will do smaller and bigger ones, to adjust to wherever he is! He doing great, you put those three together certainly would have a really good sized one! Also three. If hrs in a roll, some same people attending in some instances, quite bit of money ther are putting out at one time! It's harder on Ad to do three in a row like that, when he could do one bigger one but so much better for fans, to enjoy in that Audiance ! I am pretty sure some bigger ones in Japan! That really something when you think that he sold so well three. If hrs in a roll! They live Adam, respect him and fill up his concerts! I bet no matter how big the concert was, and sold out someone would not be happy, saying there was 1/2 inch left in the bathroom! He got bigger ones comming up! He filled up three concert same place three days in a roll! Could have just done one bigger one, it's harder on Adam better on the people! I bet next time he will do one bigger one! Rose Pedal hit wrong key on your name sorry, made few more mistakes too, sorry about that! Sue
We all seem to want something different. I just want adam a mic and a band. I don't want a SHOW. I want singing.
He is a singer not a show pony. See, we all want what we want, but we are going to get what Adam wants. I will be there to see it, no matter what

Big isn't always beautiful.
Arguing over the size of concerts .... give it a break!!
I like the size of concerts in Vegas, big enough yet intimate enough. Anybody knows the capacity of Caesar's Palace?
Heard that Taylor Hicks has been doing residency there, continuous string of concerts and doing quite well. Britney Spears has already signed on as well in Vegas.
I know it's not the right time yet, but I would love ADAM do a Vegas residency in the future.
Adam is such a talented performer, but the BS and dancers make his show burlesque like . No class at all . Sorry , but these people do not belong on the same stage with Adam . Dont understand what kind of audience hes aiming for . The whole show needs an overhaul . Brian is a talented musician , but maybe should be replaced as should the drummer . People like Monte and Longineau or Isaac more in keeping with his music . I would love to see Allison Iraheta and a male BS ! JS
I sometimes think adam is trying to recreate Zodiac days.
Those shows were raunchy in the extreme. The performers were talented but quite uninhibited. I went once, left early and never went back.
I too, long for the days of monte, longineau and Lisa or zack on keyboards. Adam was the focal point. Other than Idol performances the ones I play over and over again are his AOL FYE Sessions, Vh1 unplugged and Iheartradio.
I agree with the last two comments. Seeing we have the right to disect Adams decsions, not. But I do agree and I think this is the hold up in the States. Nothing to do with being Gay.
The huge stadiums are so impersonal and most would be viewing Adam on a tv screen and with all of the screaming, you won't hear him that well either. It is a lot easier on Adam tho' but no meeting fans by the buses after the show, signing things and seeing that brilliant smile and hypnotic eyes up close. Like Elvis, Adam would leave the building quickly and efficiently. Rihanna had to cancel several of her large venues while Adam was filling his smaller ones during the GNT. Tommy, Monte, Allison and LP would come out and talk to fans after the smaller shows too. Adam also had to pay a large part, if not all of the expenses of that tour. It was an admirable, successful venture. I selfishly would prefer the smaller venues so fans could get that personal connection, but the larger venues would be much easier on Adam and if filled, much more lucrative. I think if expense weren't involved and the back breaking bus travel, he would also prefer the intimacy of the smaller venues, being closer to fans and the many familiar faces that have long supported him. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to see him and familiar fans at 3 GNTs, Jingle Ball in FL and the American Idol tour. I hope there will be more, especially in the Southeast US.
@ Daydreamin, I read your link on the record labels and I would guess Adam is relieved to be free of his Sony contract. I hope he keeps all publishing rights for any original writing, but since he collaborates on all of his songs he will only get a portion, if that. I would guess Eber would look out for him or Neil, who is one I think to delve into that world to help protect his rights. Adam is also pretty savvy at this point, especially since his prior legal battles over his session recordings with Monte and company. I do feel badly that their over 10 year friendship and musical partnership had to end over it, as Monte is a fine, accomplished musician that could anticipate any vocal changes that Adam is so fond of making. They worked so well together on stage and I loved the musical interlude during the GNT when Adam would change costumes, much more polished and smooth. I like the graphics and set of this Asian tour and Adam and Glamily are having a good time on stage, but in US think some parts would be better reworked for more mass appeal.
