Adam, Thank You for a very experiential birthday. The crowd in the theatre, almost full, was like live wire. The white, green lasers were sweeping across the whole darkened theatre and the screams, oh my goodness! I like the way Adam sang, 3 times...Singapore! You know how to partay!/party lol! The Singberts in front were out in full force. I was so touched to see you, Adam, on stage but I always speak from my heart; direct, no twists and turns or camouflage. The band was so loud, they smothered your beautiful voice. It could be the sound consul close to where I was sitting with my daughter. But she said: Mom, pop concerts are always loud like this. I was thinking it's alright for other pop concerts but not in Adam's case, where his voice must come out at optimum...it's just not right to camouflage it. But being so powerful a voice, he sang above the din but most of the vibrato and delicate nuances were covered up; except for WWFM and Outlaws of Love, half-way. The Fever high rock-scream was smothered; I would have preferred it raw. I notice so far Queen does a real good job when it comes to allowing Adam's wails/rock-screams to really shine. Adam might need to train his band along these lines. The Singberts in front had a better perspective as far as Adam's singing goes, they loved every minute of it; being up front almost touching the stage. I think I should have bought the Circle 1 seats, which I originally planned to do; closer to the stage and further from the sound consul. Very good acoustics though for example if Adam sang an a-cappella. My daughter says Adam is a very good performer with stellar voice. She particularly liked his spiked jacket. Mmm maybe she'll tailor one for herself. lol! She's 2 years older than Adam. I like Terrance and Johnny but perhaps due to that silly, insignificant compalint, Adam being respectful, toned it down just a little. For instance he didn't get onto the floor spreading his thighs together with the dancers who glided, slithered and did their thing. Anyway I bought both the FYE and Trespassing cds/dvds. A little cute incident: The nice HMV guy seller 'warned' me the cds/dvds were not so suitable for under 16. Reflexively, immediately I retorted: It's okay we're old! And suddenly the Singberts around there burst out in laughter; obviously I looked old to them without having me to say it. lol! Anyway the guy was pleased even though he got a little embarrassed by my sharp retort, because I bought both album cds/dvds. lol! Adam...come around more often; hey what about my proposition of making a movie in Singapore...Ya lor, don't be like that...lol! Adam, Did you try the Singapore Sling...Mmm I have not. lol!

Lam-my, I was getting worried about you, glad to hear from you, Yes pop concerts are loud esp if sitting by some speakers. They probably don't call them speakers anymore. Does Adam sell much merch at the concert? Did they have any TP towels there.Yes I love Singapore Slings!!! woots thanks for the review and glad you are OK.

Yea I know...whenever I don't 'appear' here, people get worried; that's really very touching, to be remembered. Thanks for caring. Yes there were Adam t-shirts, didn't see towels, but business was brisk, all crowding around the stalls. As for Adam merchandise there is an actual Glambert shop opened every day; so any time people can just walk in to buy the Adam merchandise, should be able to get towels, costume jewellery etc. Thanks for worrying. lol!

Doing this, doing that I've planned you to be "cross-examined".LOL Here's a short list of questions before commenting on your 'experiential birthday":
1.Do you have the impression that in the future Adam will sing more rockish songs? And btw, I'm a concert-goer, pop concerts are not loud to the point of being deafening, rock concerts are.The audience screaming make them almost inaudible.
2.Do you think that this WAG Tour was destined to a younger audience, younger than his usual American audience, anyway?
3.Did Adam seem to be disturbed by the louder than usual sound of his band ?
4.Did the songs sound more rockish or only louder?.
5.In one of my posts I divided the Shanghai concert into 4 sections, the Pop/Dance S., the Ballads/Personal Songs S., the Cabaret+Dragon Attack S. and the Trespassing Anthem S. Was I right or is this concept only in my mind?

Pan interrogation
1) I still think Adam will continue with the multi-genre style concerts / albums; perhaps throw in a couple of rock songs.
2) Yes I think you may have got a point there; he knocked off Stay and Underneath and replaced them with more pop/rock songs like Shout, Dragon Attack
3)He did signal quite a bit but not constantly to the sound people and some to the band. The theatre acoustics is highly sensitive.
4) Yes come to think of it, the songs sounded more rockish and also too loud for me.
5) Quite close to that, but this time he included Time For Miracles and Is This Love, not so much jazz improvisation, more pop for Is This Love. Adam didn't attempt any of the Time For Miracles high notes; he sang it in a much lower key. He also lowered the key for FYE. I wonder if he's cutting down on those extreme high notes to preserve his voice.

There were 2 signs that Adam would sing(want to sing) more rockish songs in the future:his Pan tattoo,a symbol used by many rockers and he and his band covering Are You Gonna... an iconic rock song .
I sent you a singing birthday card, The Beatles Happy Birthday, but I couldn't catch you, I imagine you're in the "heat" of the concert.

I love Adam singing more rock but also the ballads not so much the pop/dance. Adam like Elvis also has to ability to do both genres so very well.
