My heart just skipped a beat reading this about Adam and the Idol finale. I certainly hope that this is true and that he does perform. I bet the ratings will skyrocket for that show. One of the best finales was during season 8 with Adam and Kris Allen with Queen. Adam has to say YES.

I would love to see Adam on the Idol finale. It would certainly boost the ratings and the viewers will get a chance to see Adam and maybe hear what he has been doing lately. He doesn't have any new songs to promote, but he could sing anything from Trespassing or if JHudson is on(as rumored too), maybe they could perform a duet. Let's get the story straight and find out if it is true.

Didn't Adam said that he will not perform on Idol this year? I remember it very clear.

I don't think he will sing one of his own songs. Probably sing some famous song with the contestants.

AI should be so lucky to have Adam on the show, if he wants to do it, I hope he makes them beg!!!!

I do want to see him on TV again, will be excited if he is on it, not for AI, but for him.

They could pair Adam up with one of the finalists. That is a possibility although I would love for him to perform alone. This season has been lackluster and having Adam, Jennifer Hudson and Cher(another rumor) on the show for the finale would really liven it up before the winner is announced.

I watched Idol tonight and thought that performances by Will I Am and Harry Connick,Jr. were not good at all. Connick is usually so smooth and mellow, but just didn't sound right and well, Will just doesn't do anything for me. The show needs two powerhouse singers like Adam and Jennifer Hudson to liven up the finale. So I hope Adam says yes to performing that night.

I hope this is true and that Adam says yes! Being asked to be on the finale is huge,bring out the powerhouse voices Adam and Jennifer Hudson. Adam is teamed with AT&T and cool that he just came off China idol's promo. They would have lots to say about what Adam has been accomplishing,and a lot of people don't realize what how busy Adam has been. I don't care what he sings as long as people hear that golden voice again!!!

When Adam was asked about being on AI this season, he did say he had nothing to promote, but he sounded kind of iffy about it. I'll bet anything that if he is asked, he WILL perform on the finale.

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES! Please let this happen! The regular AI viewers have seen so little of Adam since Season 8. He is off their radar. They need to see him again and know he is active and performing and as spectacular as ever! Adam will be a big draw for the show if he is on. I don't care if he does a solo song or if he does a duet. Either is fine. Just get him on the show!!!! Please! Hope they save the best for last, and that is ADAM!

I think Adam SHOULD be on Idol, and still sing a song from Trespassing...It will prob be a long time before another album is out OR maybe he could sing a new song( that could be a single-whether there's a new album out or not.Lots of artists put out singles way before the new album will be released.He could still sell many more of the album,Trespassing.Many people haven't heard "Underneath",for example.more so in China than the US.Please,BB,go on Idol and perform.He likes Angie,too.

wow Harry Connick Jr. was not very good tonight, I liked Will i Am production but not the song too much. David Cook did a good job and looked great. I was thinking Adam could sing Naked Love on AI but I think the idea is to spotlight the Idol singers so I don't know.

HCJ was terrible, DC was very good. Guess who got the SO? I think Will was taped and they avoided showing the judges afterwards.

It's funny how AI has apparently "forgiven" Jennifer Hudson for her dissing of Idol in a recent interview. They are having her on anyway, I guess. Now, if ADAM said anything like she did, we'd never hear the end of it. Let's all pray that he is on the finale. Of course, just my luck, I'm going to be gone that evening with no internet. Oh well. I'll see it in the morning.

I think The Trevor Project which Adam is working closely on, with AT&T, might have something to do with why Adam is invited, to grace AI. They always have a charity segment and I heard Adam has raised money and not only that, as I've said Adam has given a strong face to this project and the LGBT community. But even if it's not the main reason, Adam must grace AI S12, because this season has brought together 4 very outstanding voices and Adam started the ball rolling on S8...he should be given the title AI Icon and the limp S8 AI runner-up, eradicated.
I wasn't too happy about how Amber was mentored; being 'interrogated' what the lyric of her song meant. Yes I do respect the mentor's interpretation of the lyric. Amber being such a young vibrant singer, may have been stumped by his questioning. My opinion is Amber, a stylish, fashionable person with an exemplary, piercing voice, would have interpreted them in a different way and still be able to feel the meaning of the lyric; even though she couldn't explain them explicitly. I doubt Adam would use this approach at all because Adam knows lyric can be interpreted in myraids of ways and not just how the original singer meant them to be. Amber took it all in her stride, though it might give voters the impression, Amber does not feel the depth of what she sings. Not sure if it affected her performance now that the original meaning and her own interpretation, sort of overlap; just my opinion. I loved her performances; she has a very deep soulful way of interpreting songs with her fierce piercing voice. I feel Amber should have been in the Top 3! She has poise and originality both in her fashion sense and singing. Anyway, back to Adam, going to watch him very closely on AI, tv and it gets broadcasted several times.

Lam-my who do you think the top three should be? I think they got it right but my sister is having a fit because she went home. I also think Harry Connick JR was somewhat condescending about Amber and the meaning of the lyrics. Still admire him alot though.

Can think of only one reason I would watch any of this seasons skow if Adam on! The dark Side

I respect the mentor's coaching; he is no doubt very experienced, I could feel that. I think S8 would go down as the most vibrant, exciting, and S12 as the one with the most prolific female voices. Sometimes I wondered how Adam would have fared if competing with this super group. Okay my Top 3, emphasising it's just my opinion, are Amber, Candice and Angie. Candice, technically and emotionally the best, she's pinpoint accurate; but when it comes to who is the multi-genre king, it's Adam, in emoting and also technically pinpoint accurate.

I would also love to see Adam perform on the finale, but we have been tantalized with this prospect in years past, so I will just have to wait and see. If he actually said he will not appear, that is probably the truth ( sigh).

Adam has probably known for quite a few weeks. I thought it odd when he visited the studio recently, maybe the finale was the reason. This is the biggest honor AI could give him. They sure went all out when he was on season 8. It will give America a chance to see that he is still around.

NKLoves Adam - Thanks for that VH1 link! Even tho I've watched that video of Adam singing "Feeling Good" many, many times, it was great to watch it again. And VH1 sure had it right. No one should try to sing that song after Adam's performance, as it was incomparable. When I clicked on the YouTube video, I just loved reading all the many positive and fun comments. His studio version is even better - he changed up that last note and it was simply incredible! Sure hope he agrees to the AI finale.

Every year proves over and over that there never has been, and there never will be another extraordinary phenomenal contestant like Adam again on the show...he broke the mold and ADAM SHOULD GO DOWN IN HISTORY FOR what he did on Idol...because of ADAM LAMBERT there is the Voice and all the other singing shows...they are just TRYING HARD to find ADAMS KIND OF MAGIC AGAIN..and they can't and they NEVER WILL>>>NEVER NEVER EVER AGAIN!

For that alone Adam Lambert deserves a HALL OF FAME AWARD FOR IDOL!
Adam should be HONORED EVERY YEAR for that!

My "dream team" for the Idol Finale this year would be Adam and Queen because they'd blow the roof off..but Adam on there in ANY capacity would be incredible. I suspect he'd be dueting with one of the finalists.

My favorite on this season's Idol is Candice. She is really so good. Actually all of the top 4 were great.

But Adam won my votes a long time ago for best ever, and no one has ever come close to keeping me completely mesmerized since the first time I saw him on there. I was instantly hooked and still am. And always will be......

OMG just got home and read this!!! I think Adam would do this if he had no other plans! We all know how much he feels he owes idol. He would definitely do it just for the exposure. I am so freaking proud of him that they keep asking him back to sing and now for the finale?!!

I also would LOVEEEEEEE for Adam to sing with Queen or sing Runnin' and get that song RUNNIN! I know he won't, but it's a dream either way!

I couldn't help but wonder if the remaining contestants were asked if there is someone they would love to duet with. I could definitely see Angie singing with Adam if that were the case.

The finale brings back all of the Top 10 contestants and a lot of them perform duets with well-known artists. The only guest artists who perform their own stuff are current, like JLO who has a new song. This is what Adam did in Idol China finale. He sang with a contestant. It's a compliment to JHud and Adam that they are the two former contestants being brought in. They don't have anything current. They are wanted for themselves.

I admit to watching Idol this year and I enjoyed the last girls standing very much. I did not vote for any of the girls - only Adam made me actually vote for a contestant! He had IT in spades!!!!

He said he wouldn't be on idol because he didn't have anything to promote. I think he would gladly go preform if they asked him. I wish he would do Underneath or Broken English or a duet of Stay.

Adam isn't going to do any of his own songs. Lol. It's nice he is getting asked back to perform.

The only time I ever voted for a contestant was season 8 when Adam was on. I couldn't wait to see him each week with the song he would perform or how he would look. There just is something so exciting and mesmerizing in watching him on stage. I don't care if he performs with one of the finalists or on his own, I just want to see him for the finale. Season 8 had one of the best finales of all the seasons that Idol has been on and it was because of Adam. The top 4 female contestants are very good, a lot better than the male singers this year. I wonder how the tour will do with this group. Even though season 8 had a great group of performers on tour, I think the audience just waited for Adam to appear. And now I will be waiting to see if he will make an appearance on the finale for Idol.

Not to offend anybody, but I hope (if Adam is there) that he sings alone or performs with Queen (if possible smehow?) or with Nile, but not with J.Hud or any of the current contestants... cause for international fans all these ladies are of no interest (to take nothing away from their talents), just not in Adam's league as perfomers...

Yeah but the finale is all about the finalists. Only a big star like gaga would get to do a solo number. And adam doesn't even have a single to promote.

On the voice Adam did WWFM duet, was terrific. He also sang by himself if you remember trespassing single which he released there. He did two songs everyone just mentions the outstanding duet! But he did a killer performance also of trespassing. I clearly remember that train video in the background looking very cool.Adam just dropped naked love in Hong Kong and not long ago CC in Febkand. Even tho he not gonna put another single out in us off trespassing he could still sing song from it would sake more albums. He probably wants to probably sing new album single next year. Most likely will sing a duet with one of the contestants if he does it. The perfect thing would be queen, before I even heard about this I been thinking that for the finale this show certainly needs an Adam. queen boost desperately or just an Adam boost hope it happens. Sure will make for a far better finale whether Adam sings duet, by himself with a band just get Adam. Adam was the best ever in the show. The little seen of the show Candice is very good singer but sexier than Adam I don't think so, never seen anything come close to that on that show! Oh, it would be so great to see Adam again. Its been too long. Please say yes, it is true. I don't care how or with whom he performs. Whatever, he does is just perfect. Adam is one of a kind and no one has ever come close. When you are in a league of your own it is tough to top that. May favorite in Season 8 and in all the seasons. Go Adam, and please come back to the finale and make it worth watching. Idol is not the same without you. Adam is the best.....

Adam Lambert performed on idol every year since season 8 that means that they really know how amazing and talented he is and for sure their ratings will boost significantly. He's the best idol for me I love him soooo much!!!!!

No I'm not, sorry meant to say it "in general" terms and based on the fact that very few of the former AI lady winners have created a buzz outside US. And based on that experience I can't see any of the current lady contestants do it either.
Like I said I'm not trying offend or make trouble, you can see this by looking at sales charts of various countries.
