Beautiful men-they take my breath away. May life have a more peaceful journey for our Adam as he keeps himself surrounded by family and friends who truly love him-and have his best interests at heart.I still remember the sadness I felt when I heard on the radio that Elvis had died.I think it was in 1977.....and he was only 42 years old.

I think on the photographer's website it said the book was coming out later this year.

For those that missed this info in a previous long post:

Christopher Ameruoso usually does celebs and their pets photography and is in OK magazine every week with that.
Other stars he has already photographed for the Shades of Elvis tribute book include Michael Buble, Elton John, Willie Nelson and more.

Kinda weird to tweet that to the photographer.

From his Ali Baba treasure cave, he leaps into the Elvis arena. Hey Adam, I'd really like to hear you sing Jailhouse Rock...hmm you will do Elvis justice, I'm quite sure of that. Actually on close comparison, the resemblance is not that stark. But when Adam sang Whole Lot Of Love on AI, I actually said it out loud to myself: Elvis. I think it was at a certain angle and the high collar and swept-back black hair. And the way he rocked it out. It's easy, I think to 'transform' Adam into Elvis. A remake of an Elvis film starring Adam as Elvis would be a huge box-office draw, oooh...that's big.

Adam is much better-looking than Elvis and I don't want to see Adam play Elvis in a movie. Ugh! That would be horrid. Adam is Adam, not an Elvis reincarnation.

I totally agree that Adam is much better looking than Elvis.

Wow! He sure picked some BIG stars to photograph for the Elvis shoot. Including Adam, of course. I think he'll be amazed at the Elvis/Adam comparison. I hope we get more than one pic of Adam in the book. Sounds like wearing Elvis sunglasses is kind of a theme, but I hope there's more. I want to see Adam gorgeous eyes. This book should be really great!

That is a scary collage... Elvis died at the age of 42.. Hope that Adam will live much much longer.

Lam-my...

I am not too familiar with Elvis' music but I had the same thought when I saw Adam doing Whole Lotta Love.. On one hand I was excited, on the other hand I was worried because it reminded me that Elvis passed away at a "young" age.

I'm about to comment about the thread "New Tweets and Pictures From Adam Lambert". I'm commenting here because I don't know if anyone is still reading that thread.
Please fans, think before you comment. Some of the comments on that thread only make Adam's fans look totally obsessive. Some people were calling "troll". I don't know if all of them were. Trolls wouldn't know that much about Adam's personal life.
In my opinion, even friends and relatives should think before opinionating on someone's romantic relationships. For strangers to do so is totally inappropriate, especially if they try to contact the people involved. It sounds very much like stalking.

Adam is Adam, Elvis was Elvis. Adam is not only better looking but is way more personable.

Elvis was very famous during the baby-boomers / population explosion era; they are now in their 60s+. So if Adam were to portray Elvis, the movie will rock the box-offices worldwide and catapult Adam into the stratosphere. Well, all we need is a producer who sees this as a profitable enterprise. I would be quite thrilled if that were to happen; can relive the Elvis songs and at the same time watch Adam in a movie. Living a long or short life depends on a lot of circumstances and genetics play an important part. I feel Adam will live to a ripe old age simply because he doesn't take life so seriously and enjoys every moment and opportunity he gets. He's also very strong and alert. He doesn't worry or get too stressed out even with so many commitments and tight schedules. In short, he's in control of his own life and knows what's good for him.

Have to admit, I had always thought Elvis had the greatest voice I had ever heard, until Adam came along. Can't wait to buy the book when it comes out. There are so many entertainers that could have been asked to be in this. I am so thrilled he was chosen, to be in this elite group!

Two of my favorites from totallly different time periods. Beautiful men and so handsome/gorgeous each in his own way. I did see Elvis perform, but I have not seen Adam yet. Hopefully I will in the future. Don't want to see Adam play Elvis. Adam is Adam and that's that. I also think Adam does have the better voice. For me he is the best vocal talent in music today and has achieved global stardom. Now America just has to wake up and recognize what a vocal powerhouse he is.

Anonymous said...

Not every baby boomer was/is an Elvis fan.

choons said...

It's fun to compare the two of them, but really, for me, there is no comparison.
I find it more fascinating to compare all the Adams in Adam.

Anonymous said...

I agree both handsome men, but Adam is....well Adam...for me (and I think a lot of others)...he's best there is ...or ever will be ....I've never felt or acted this way about anyone ...I've no doubt he was destined to come, capture our hearts, remind us to live life, to love one another ,to open the minds of those are unable to understand ,and to pave the way for others ...to be open and happy with who the are.I've given this a lot of thought and have decided that the Adams home planet ....Planet Fierce.. must be a mighty special place if they could afford to send us Adam....One of these days when space travel is routine.... (like I'll be here) .... I'm gonna go to Planet Fierce ....just in case they have an extra Adam hanging around .....would love to take him home.... rose petal

Anonymous said...

Adam and Elvis both share the it factor. Oozing sensuality, but to me Adam is way more handsome. Adam's eyes are slanted up and Elvis's are slanted down. Adam has the most beautiful eyes shape and color. Elvis had a bad time with success using pills. I want Adam to stay healthy and grounded with a very long happy life!Glad that Adam will be in this tribute book,he's going to look amazing.

Anonymous said...

What separates our Adam from other good looking performers - well, his charm and intellect of course. But, because we know of his personal struggle, of all the haters, we can not help but admire a young artist who will not be defeated and hide when it would be so easy for him to do so.
Adam was and is a role model by being himself and revealing himself to all who will really look at this young man and realize his talent. He has accepted the role that was thrust upon him with his fame and now speaks out spreading love and joy to help others. How many singers and performers have changed people's lives the way Adam has. He has made people accept themselves and love themselves for whatever reason. He has touched our souls young and old with his angelic voice and presence. How many others have done that. That's why he is loved so much. He's the one and only Adam Lambert!..nancdruuu2

Anonymous said...

what is the difference between Presley and Lambert? Presley slept with women. bah ching

Anonymous said...

make that married Elvis slept with WOMEN. probably lots of the women were married too.

Anonymous said...

But he avoided sleeping with his wife after she had a child.
He was a Southern Momma's boy and after Lisa Marie was born, Priscilla was a Momma.! Priscilla eventually got fed up and moved on. Can't blame her. She was very young and her bed was empty.

Anonymous said...

They have made enough movies about Elvis, there's nothing new left to tell. Plus the fact that Adam would be completely wrong for the part.

BTW Elvis had a wonderful voice, not classically trained and not the range that Adam has, but while he could rock with the best of them, listening to his ballads was like having warm honey poured over you. Many times I melted into a theater seat watching and listening to him on stage. On stage he was magic........backstage, I didn't like him!....JAK

Anonymous said...

Lambert says he's bedded many men and just maybe a couple of women. ELVIS never done that. Lambert is the new century ELVIS. Priscilla probably see the "it" factor that Adam possesses.

Anonymous said...

Kentucy Rain was a beautiful Elvis ballad. Adam could probably make it sound even more beautiful and modern.

Anonymous said...

Oh, God, not the Elvis arguments again.

Anonymous said...

Would love to see Adam in the remake of Jesus Christ Superstar!!! He will kill it with his VOCALS!!!

Anonymous said...

IMHO Adam Lambert OWNS his sensuality and is well aware of how to use it and honest that he does use it. Elvis was more "who me??" and coy about his sexiness and sensuality. I find the fact that Adam Lambert acknowledges his worldy, well executed use of his sexual fierceness and his sensuality so hot, so appealing, so damn hot!

Anonymous said...

Didn't Adam sing NCOE on American Idol the same episode that Lisa Marie Presley performed a single she had released? (Lisa wore long black almost goth type dress and styling that night I think?? The song was kind of a haunting liltling sort of thing??) And I believe Priscilla was in the audience. Not drawing any conclusions or anything, just making the connection? My memory could be failing me too?

If you look at some of the parallel Elvis and Adam pictures, they could be siblings. The side profile pics and the hair slicked back are the ones that make them so similar in appearance. They both have the IT factor that made the ladies crazy for them. I think Adam has the better voice, but Elvis gave us some powerful ballads and gospel songs. Most of the movies he made for Hal Wallis were silly plot lines and just vehicles for Elvis to sing mostly silly songs. My favorite is a black and white called KING CREOLE. He looked terrific and there actually was a decent storyline. Check it out. I also would like to see Adam in JCSS on Broadway. Maybe some day he might consider it or some other musical revival or drama. Hopefully Adam finds a lot more happiness, contentment, and love in his life than Elvis had in the 42 years he was with us.

Anonymous said...

@Lam-my ... you are right, longevity depends on nature and nurture. I shouldn't worry too much.

@Lam-my and JAK.. as for Adam portraying Elvis... I am sharing both your opinions... Not sure whether Adam is ideal to portray Elvis.. but if he did, it would blow my mind.

From your tone of 'voice' you probably will live to a ripe old age; there's a snag here, aging gracefully is the key. Actually Adam can play any role under the sun; just give it to him and he'll werk it and twerk it and querk it. lol! I still would like him to do a musical comedy and he likes that too. He's a real natural clown and one that wails. lol! But if let's say Priscilla or Lisa Marie offers him the role of Elvis, hmm that's big time baby. lol!

Adam has never been acclaimed for any acting role he has done. He has only gotten mentioned for vocal skills, as in Ten Commandments. Lam-my what makes you think Adam would be such a great actor? Even he has said he would need acting lessons. Acting is not necessarily a skill that goes hand in hand with singing talent.

Elvis, though Col.Parker, his manager, kept him in silly films, was a very good actor. He was offered roles again and again that Parker had him turn down, roles in excellent films. The Tony Curtis role in The Defiant Ones, The Jon Voight role in The Midnight Cowboy, Barbra Striesand wanted him to star in the remake of A Star is Born with her, Parker said "No" so Kris Kristofferson got the part and worst of all he was offered the role of Tony opposite Natalie Wood in The West Side Story and Parker laughed and said "how many people do you think would go to see a movie about a modern day Romeo and Juliet?"

Elvis was an actor with an anchor around his neck - Col. Parker.

Adam can't get a guest role on glee. He certainly isn't going to be in any movies.

While we're talking about re-makes ... I'd LOVE to see ADAM reprise his role of Charlie in BRIGADOON. Come To Me Bend To Me is still one of my Top 10 songs by ADAM ... it's sort of my lullaby on Ytube before bedtime. I have the original movie with Van Johnson & Gene Kelly on video tape & although the young man who sang CTMBTM was good ... he pales in comparison with ADAM. I can only HOPE!!

Adam has not really been tested as a big movie actor. I never said specifically he would be a big successful movie actor. But having seen Adam doing little roles like the Diva's, PLL, Ten Commandments, Brigadoon etc; and his own proclamation he could handle Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, his own words; my intuition points to an excellent actor just waiting behind the wings of the stage / big screen, ready to take flight and soar. He just needs that enlightened producer/director to light his fire and skilfully guide him through the process. All just based on my own intuition. Nothing is certain in life for that matter but Adam himself is confident he can pull it off as an actor and has voiced this yearning a lot of times. That's all I'm saying. Go for it when the opportunity arises, and let the rest take its natural course. Like Adam so wisely put it: surrender is in itself control. This is pretty deep, wonder where he got that from. lol! Most likely he felt it after having gone through so much upheavals. But never be a defeatist; one has not done it, does not necessarily mean one may not excel; in this case Adam as an actor. Not forgetting Adam started his theatre calling from a tender but very impressionable age of 10.

Adam can't get a guest role on GLEE? Was he ever offered one? He is obviously too old to be one of the students, so what is left...a teacher? counsellor? someone's sibling?? playing himself to talk to the kids about music, the stage? Here we are suggesting him for all these movie roles and we don't know anything about his acting skills or lack of them. Being in a musical on stage is quite different from appearing in a dramatic movie role. And they don't seem to be making too many movie musicals lately except for Les Miserables(and we know Adam's comments about that). I would hope that Adam would focus on his music career right now, making that third album and then a tour to promote it. If anything special comes his way, I am sure that management will look at all the angles with him as far as a career move. I want nothing but success and happiness for him both in his professional and personal life.

Leilani Aloha said...

If they ever cast adam to play Elvis, just focus on Elvis's music, no need for his personal love/family life.
Just all Elvis's hits & live performances will be fun to watch especailly Adam playing him:):):)
wishful thinking! :)
or Jesus Christ Super star!!!

Anonymous said...

Anon at 7:20PM--I also believe that Adam's main focus now should be his third album and a tour. I for one am waiting anxiously to see where he goes with this new release. Adam is keeping mum about it and doesn't want to give us any expectations about it that he won't be able to meet esp. a deadline for release. The comparison collage pictures are amazing. If Elvis had a son, he would look like Adam now. Remember Elvis was born with blonde hair and dyed it later to that black color we are so familiar with just as Adam had that strawberry blonde color in his teen years and has had several different color changes over the last several years. Adam looks terrific now as did Elvis in his early thirties.

Anonymous said...

A production of Jesus Christ Superstar just crashed on Broadway. No one will be touching that for a long time. Acting isn't Adam's forte. Singing is. Why waste time doing something you are average at when you could be doing something you're amazing at?

Anonymous said...

I'd take Adam as Judas in JCSS on the Broadway stage any day over some silly movie where he played Elvis or just sang his songs as someone suggested. I think he would be dynamic on stage since theater is his background. But I suppose at this point in his career, the next album and an eventual tour are where efforts are now. All he needs is that one single that gets him radio play and the recognition that he so deserves much as WWFM did in the beginning for him. Maybe even a collabo which seems so popular with a number of artists right now would be something to consider.

Anonymous said...

I would love to see Adam on Broadway either in a revival of a musical or something written specifically with him in mind as I believe Hugh Jackman is doing with a new musical of Houdini. But I agree that his next album and setting up a tour and promo are probably where his career is right now. He is an amazing vocal talent and proved it even moreso to me from the appearances he made with Queen this past year and then his wonderful duet with Angie on American Idol. Two different settings..two wonderful performances. This man just has me mesmerized.

Anonymous said...

The song Come to Me Bend to Me was in the stage play of Brigadoon - it was cut from the movie before it was released - along with 3 other songs. I also have the Brigadoon film, CTMBTM is not in it! Check your copy Tess - you can see where it was cut, when Charlie is waiting outside the cottage hoping to see Jean before the wedding. No CTMBTM !

Anonymous said...

I don't think adam is working on an album at all. We would have heard from people working with him. He is just doing one random thing after another. I'm sure he would jump at a chance to do broadway if he was offered the right role.

Anonymous said...

Brigadoon, Come To Me Bend To Me is where he sang and held that 22-second pure note; it was so long, I literally waited for him to run out of breath. lol!

Adam has been in the studio. He has also said he is keeping this album, and the creative process, much more under wraps than last time. I tend to believe him... Have faith. He's been a just little busy lately too, doing all those "random" things, one right after the other.... We'll get an album when it's ready. I have no doubts. Perhaps the people he is working with are keeping quiet too... :)))

Anonymous said...

All of these photos you see of Elvis were after he had his nose fixed (the bridge was flatter, like a boxer) also eyelid surgery (lids were puffy and heavy like his Mom's) and his teeth were capped. So the prettied up Elvis does bear some slight resemblance to Adam I suppose. But he did not look like that when he was performing on The Louisiana Hayride
singing rockabilly music.

Anonymous said...

Gotta say I lol when I hear people believing that things are being kept under wraps. He pretty clearly indicated in Miami that he wasn't working on an album. He mentioned doing some recordings, whatever that means. I mean the lifeball song was one. I think he just got his talking points from shoshanna so he sounds more together than he did in Miami. But he wouldn't be talking about applying for tv jobs and other non music things if he had a big cycle of work on an album ahead of him. In fact he wouldn't have taken the time to do lifeball if he was really busy.

I have seen a couple of photos from shoots of this book, of Michael Buble and Elton John...and neither look anything like Elvis, so it doesn't look like the photographer is trying to channel Elvis, just have them wearing his glasses or something.

Lol whe artists don't have anything going on they seek out charity events to keep their name in the media. It's a good strategy. I'm sure lifeball was fun for adam. As much attention on the clothes as the music. But certainly he wouldn't be out actively looking for these kinds of things if he was busy making music or trying to get an album out

Anonymous said...

Yes of course lots of people would pass up lifeball if they were doing other projects that were making them money

Anonymous said...

Yes, the people who do charity events are people who aren't making money, don't have anything else going on and just want their name in the media. Charities really like to work with those types of people. I'm sure Bill Clinton and Elton John feel this way too.

Anonymous said...

Lol I'm pretty sure you are determined to miss the point so I won't bother explaining things to you. But a busy artist trying to get a new album out isn't going to be contacting lifeball and asking for a gig. That's the kind of thing someone looking to stay busy would do.
