Love Wins Over Glamour Lyrics thanks to Kathryn17:

I seem to be so fucking lucky lately
I found the key to endless treasure
My heart is pumping and I like what I see
Ya give me joy and give me pleasure
I’m on an easy ride
I got my jewels I got a rock and
no one can break my stride
I’m coming hard with heavy pockets
But I’m not gonna keep it

That’s why I open up my bag and let it go
Blow my cash up big and hit the road whoa
pots of gold won’t do little brother
if ya don’t share your love with one another
flash don’t matter
love wins over glamour

(you got love baby)
(you got love)

We’re strong alone with all my riches ‘round me
couldn’t get over all the diamonds
I tried to roll in all my gold but honey
there was no love that it could shine on shine on
Love was far out of sight
I was unsatisfied
I wanna do it right
I need to love tonight

That’s why I open up my bag and let it go
Blow my cash up big and hit the road whoa
pots of gold won’t do little brother
if ya don’t share your love with one anotherflash don’t matter
love wins over glamour

I got the secret code (yeah)
So stand up and get a clue from me
cold hard cash leave you cold
if you got hot then leave and come with me
come on
come on and get it
come on and get it

That’s why I open up my bag and let it go
Blow my cash up big and hit the road whoa
pots of gold won’t do little brother
if ya don’t share your love with one another
Cause love is the key
To open sesame
You got the key
You want the key
You got the need
You need a key
You got the key
You need a key
You got the key
Love wins over glamour

Adam added to this song, so they can say he co wrote it. I think he probably added f---king.LOL Otherwise good lyrics. Not sure if he was singing live or not, hard to tell.

My first inclination was to post as anonymous, but what the heck....

Though Adam was an Arabian delite and a beautiful sight. I didn't like the song,
the lyrics and melody seemed all wrong. I don't expect y'all to agree, but it just didn't sound right to me. I enjoyed the production it was a feast for the eyes and Adam shone brightest of all the guys.

I do agree with you JAK, for what it was he sang well, as always. Didn't think it showcased his voice, the production was great. But at least Adam's name is out there again, not sure if the song helped him or not. I have read a lot of comments, and as usual they all gushed over Adam, because he is Adam, and of course they are already his fans. Not sure what the reception was from non-fans or people hearing him for the first time.
He kept this a secret for quite a while, wonder what else he knows for future gigs, that he cannot say yet. He hates to keep secrets, but he gets his orders, LOL

Think it is kind of hard to tell off a video off a tv! He sang live, when a live show is taped it sometimes look different. I liked it a lot!

Anonymous said...

I did not know that Adam contacted them to be in the production. Glad they accepted his offer. Of course not much money for him, but good for his charity work, and of course the experience alone is worth gold. Hope he has something else in store for us soon. I know he has a couple of gigs coming up, but then another dry spell.

JAK , I thought just the same thing ,After the livestream I was going to highlight and describe the Adam performance for the last thread but kind of lost my enthusiasm because of the song. The show element was spectacular and amazing, a lot of beautiful people, some looking already familiar, thanks to posts and admin here for numerous pics. But I guess I have yet to really digest the lyrics especially. Now must head to sleep:)Maybe I "get" it in my dreams.MS

This is the first internet article I've seen on Adam's performance.

If someone else has posted the link, sorry for not taking the time to read thru all the awesome comment sections.

I like Adam, of course, but I don't gush, ever, and my opinion is that I loved the song, it's construction , everything about it. Great vibe for a euro audience too! kind of an "ear worm" type song too, which is never a bad thing! Youthful, also good IMHO. adam never disappoints vocally, but I like the song just as a song. Fit the bill well @ this event!!

Anonymous said...

As far as 2:53, let's not bite fellow fans, ignore, that gets 'me more!!

Anonymous said...

euro pop is alive and well. song was perfect for this event, by now we all get Adam's diversity in singing - as he said 'why not sing pop well'. No need to show off the voice (as the Titanium duet just did).

Anonymous said...

I would add that Adam is f---ing is brilliant if he contacted them and proposed to sing here. way to up the European visibility.

@3:51 PM Well Said!

(except that I often gush, (blush))

@3:26, are you sure Adam contacted them? This is the first I've heard of this.

This video is too obscure for me to give an opinion as yet ... need to see another that is clearer. ADAM of course sang well ... the song ... not my type of song by anyone ... the production ... don't know yet ... as I said .. I need to see a clearer video. Hope others will be posted on Ytube soon. ADAM "LOOKED" MARVELOUS! As for the rest of the production ... we shall see ... no decision yet.

Like your post.Very well said. Smart and properly stated.

I loved it, too, and thought the production was lots of fun. If I could change anything, I would have had Adam do at least a FEW of the dance steps with the dancers to give the whole thing a little cohesiveness with him. He sang great, of course!

Let's wait for a official release of the broadcast and the studio version of the song. Hard to tell from a live stream or the rip of a live stream that is then uploaded to Youtube. Most songs done for charity arent't that great. I liked what I heard. And the visual spectacle of the whole thing was amazing. Such a worthy cause too. A generation born without HIV is achievable by 2015. You can donate here:

2:53PM Where do you get your information about Adam co-writing this song? Why assume he added the F--king lyrics? Could you possibly be wrong??? It's not a very nice thing to say about Adam.

Anonymous said...

@Anon 3:5
I too agree, well said!
Listened to a vid with better sound. Definitely Adam's brilliant voice can be heard.

And there's this "disco nuance" that makes me feel younger and want to get up and dance like I used to... [sigh] So hoping this can be bought in due time - and maybe played in clubs?

I hope people would take it as it meant to be - a special party song - and not deep analyse everything about it... Already discussions whether he sang it live or to a background tape or lipsynced it... Why does it matter? It's one show, a big production, where he guest performed one song. We all know WHAT A TERRIFIC, UNSURPASSED SINGER HE IS LIVE.

Great job, BB!!!

I think any song Adam would sing after his duet on Titanium would require an expectation shift in style and production. Titanium took my breath away because of the purity and beauty of his voice. This song was an "arena" type performance which needed the high energy and celebratory aura required for the occasion.I loved it!!!

Ooops, my post @4:58
Meant to address @Anon 3:51

Anonymous said...

3.26 I doubt it is true! I am sure they asked him but if by chance he did brilliant move! Probably have not heard it because no one else has heard anything about him contacting them either. Anyway you look at it brilliant job, done by Adam Lambert!

Anonymous said...

Sorry mistake was addressing 4.05, just was saying the reason you had not heard anything about Adam contacting them is because he didn't ! Does not matter however what a great opportunity for him and he did very well! From 5.08.

Anonymous said...

If we all had Adam's work ethic, this world would be totally awesome.

Anonymous said...

If adam did lip sync he had a reason to it was pretty cold 54 degrees thats not good for the voice. The more you know ;)

Anonymous said...

I love the song and I think Adam did a great job. we haven't heard the studio version, this is probably a guest taking the video ,so the sound isn't great. What a terrific dance beat. I could hear this in clubs for sure. I hope it sells a lot on ITunes and that it makes money for the aids charity. I know I will be buying it for sure when it comes out.

Adam did say in an interview that he helped (co-wrote) write the song.

Song was written for the Life Ball and it was perfect. The performance was absolute perfection, love the song, love the man.

We all hear it differently. I thought Adam performed the song well, but the tune was meh! Forgettable. If they make a single available I hope I'm wrong and that it sells lots and lots, but it's not one I care to replay. kk

Sometimes I have to wonder do fans of more mature age (myself included) really expect this 31 year old man ONLY to sing and perform songs that satisfy our music taste?!

My answer (to myself) is hell no!

He does what he needs to do, what he wants to perform & record and I follow (or not) - onward and forward I say!

And however wonderful I think "Titanium" type performances are they are not the sellers in music business today... or they don't widen Adam's fan base enough...imho

Anonymous said...

Adam performed brilliantly and looked like an Arabian prince, I absolutely loved the song, thought it was perfect as an opening number. The only thing I found extremely annoying was the commentator talking over the music and Adam's voice, this totally spoilt the whole thing, it was so disrespectful to Adam and the dancers accompanying him. So don't be so quick to judge Adam, hopefully we will get some decent videos that allow us to appreciate Adam's amazing performance.

If Adam wants to have a successful career, he needs to keep up with the current trend of the modern music industry whether we older fans like it or not, otherwise we may only see Adam performing at small concert venues, receiving very little or no recognition, with a talent like his he deserves to reach his full potential, it's through Adam that I now listen to modern music whereas before I was stuck in the 70's, not that there is anything wrong with that but Adam has helped me to broaden my horizons and I now realise that not all modern music is rubbish, some of it is brilliant, for example, Daft Punk and Pharrell and Nile Rodgers, 'Get Lucky', this is fantastic music modern and fresh, and this is the type of music the modern generation want to hear.

Anonymous said...

The song was perfect - love IS more important than glamour, don't you agree? and words suit to Adam too very well cause he played modern Ali Baba. He wasn't at the state as AL. And yes, he sang it live. You can see if you look carefully livestream broadcast. To use a background tape was natural solution.
Adam did a marvelous gig!

Anonymous said...

Spectacular performance at in incredibly majestic international event! ADAM was breathtaking and the whole set was awesome!!!!!!!
Adam will never bend to the US boy next door image because he is REAL and out the box........and that's what makes him supremeo! "Love Wins Over Glamour' music by Stranka/Gellner and Lyrics by Stranka/Gellner/Lambert is an OUTSTANDING gutsy, attitude song and hopefully we'll see it released before too long. Nobody can deliver like Adam, nobody!
Genius performer, uber talented and classy guy to the max! SOOOOOOO darn proud of his performance!

Anonymous said...

Adam already has a successful career internationally and it's grows in leaps and bounds every single bloody day. His way above the stuff I saw on the Billboards, in a different league to the inferior performances we were sujected too. The show was infact trashy but marketed at what the kids buy thesedays. The industry is tough but Adam stays true to his gut feeling thankfully. His an international star, not a Billboard entertainer who will be unheared on within a few years.

Anonymous said...

How on earth can you compare the LifeBall performance to AI and "Titanium' which infact was just to showcase Angie Miller. Adam is the ultimate and how some people miss that point amazes me.

Anonymous said...

Hells bells the man is awesome.

1:29 am and 1:46am I´m in sync w you. After a good night sleep I came up w similar ideas. The Life Ball song fits very well in the euro pop scene. The purpose was to sell a hot Popsong Ali Baba style and give to charity. Not an AL song w message. I guess as an older person myself I was expecting something that he has done so far, music that is standing out different from music that is played on the radios which all sound the same.Adam performed it brilliantly. I hope the song will sell :)!

@5:18 PM

Adam contacted the Life Ball people. He heard about the show from some friends and since he knows some people with HIV he wanted to be part of this show. This was told by the german speaking reporters - there is no reason to not beleive them.

If this song would have been his first single from TP we would have a hit already - at least in Europe.

@anon 3:11
Please READ the comments.

I for one was not comparing anything, I said "Titanium" TYPE PERFORMANCES, meaning pure, more quieter productions, where you can hear a pin drop and then voices soaring etc. "Soaked" is another example.

Yesterday's PERFORMANCE was more of the type they play in clubs today, making you wanna dance etc. Attracting party people, younger people to discover Adam!

As it happens ADAM IS MAGNIFICENT in any type of music HE DECIDES to perform - aren't we lucky to be following this exceptional man & performing artist!!!

I don't think age has anything to do with liking or not liking a song. My Mom and I are both Glamberts and have traveled together to several concerts in New England area.
I'm 32 and didn't like this song. She's 65 and did. We're both hoping it helps Adam's career.

Anonymous said...

Adam has so superficial and immmature life style, so his songs are only like that too: bland.

Anonymous said...

Adam can sing anything as he has proven over and over again. He did not write this song but did help with the lyrics and since this song was specific to this event which was meant to be a celebration of life it had to be up beat. I hope that the song sells and makes tons of money for a great cause.

Troll.

Anonymous said...

Well, not that it makes a difference whether Adam contacted LifeBall or the other way around, the result was brilliant! He performed perfectly. This shows the PTB at LifeBall must have tremendous respect for his talent to accept his offer to perform and give him the very important role of Ali Baba in the opening ceremony! A very significant role for sure..introducing the LifeBall song! I think that speaks volumes in terms of Adam's professional reputation and obvious mega talent that is known so well internationally.

No she's right 5.31 is a troll very superficial bland and boring remark, please go to S twitter account where you belong! Adam works very hard and the song was dynamite. Please take a anti jealousy pill it may help you, because your remark was very immature superficial and jealous sounding.
