This news is heartbreaking. I'm glad Adam said something, especially since he will be joining the GLEE family. Prayers to Lea Michelle and Cory's family and friends to find some peace and healing in the months to come.

I can't say it any better.

Not sure if Adam would sing at the funeral, the whole cast of Glee are singers. I am sure Adam knew him but he is not part of the Glee family yet, if you know what I mean. God bless his family, who are going through this sad time, and comfort them.

So tragic. RIP Cory. Glee filming may be delayed if they have to rewrite the script. Adam's tweet was very heartfelt. He will be joining a sad, sad cast.

I have a burning in my heart since last night because of this tragic news. My deepest sympathy to his family, friends, Glee fans, and his girl Lea Michelle. The hardest unimaginable thing to deal with. Say prayers for progress of his soul in the next world.

Born in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Monteith was the youngest son of Joe Monteith, who served in the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, and Ann McGregor, an interior decorator. His parents divorced when he was very young, and Monteith struggled to deal with the change in his family life. That struggle led him to attend 16 different schools -- including one for troubled teens -- and abuse drugs and alcohol. To support his habit, he eventually dropped out of school and began stealing.

When Monteith was 19, his family and friends held an intervention. He checked into rehab, got clean and eventually received his high school diploma. He also launched an acting career, playing minor roles in the films "Final Destination 3" and "Deck the Halls," and guest-starring on several TV shows, including "Smallville," "Supernatural" and "Stargate SG-1."

Fame is not always what it seems. However Cory's fate might have been destined long ago. I hope he has found peace.

RIP Cory Monteith. May God give your family, friends & all those who knew & loved you the strength to endure this tragedy. Amen.

4:40 and 6:02 Seems to me that we wouldn't be reading this tragic news if someone had stepped in before his eighth or sixth school and said "this kid needs some stability in his life." This is truly a tragedy and could have been avoided. JMHO So very, very sad on so many levels.
