Very sad news. Gale Chester Whittington, a big Adam Lambert fan, dedicated founder of Adam Lambert Fan Club, a pioneer in gay rights, and very known across the fan base, passed away this week. He will be missed.

VIA Adam Lambert Fan Club:

*SAD NEWS* It is with a broken heart that I must inform you that we lost our beloved Gale Chester Whittington.
Gale passed away Aug 11 2013 at his home. Cause is unknown since some of us know that he he had health problems.
I found out last night through Glamily member @Essellsari who did some research.
I was so broken up that I could not stop crying and was not able to post the message here. I went to sleep think of him and woke up think of him.
I did not personally know Gale but I had hopes to meet him someday. We had talked about it. It also saddens me to know that Gale did not have any family and that the Glambert community was his family. As we all know Gale was SO DEDICATED to this fandom and we all looked forward to getting our latest up to date info on Adam Lambert.
Gale will be missed VERY MUCH by this fandom. He seemed like a Sweet lovely man.
I know that a lot of the Adam Lambert fans already found out about his passing and those just finding out I send you a BIG hug and just know that his beloved fan page will continue.
@Essellsari made this beautiful memorial pic of Gale.
R.I.P Gale Chester Whittington

I feel sick to my stomach just the other day someone I am on twitter with was saying she was worried about him and I was sort of worried myself after that. A few weeks ago I sent him a follow friday and told him every now and then I like to send a #FF to the people who work tirelessly for Adam and he sent me a nice Email back. What a shock.RIP he will be writing in heaven now.

I have heard of him. I think he is one of the most dedicated fans in the world. Love his Twitter too.

I hope he rest in peace.

I hope Adam would tweet about this.

I didn't recognize this name, but when I say the picture I knew who he was. He did great interviews with Adam. I thought he worked for a radio station. So sad to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with the people that knew him.

So sad that he had no family. I think it is wonderful that so many strangers embraced him. We all need love and it can come from the strangest of places sometimes. AL will most likely feel the loss.

OMG! I was always looking forward to him providing us with most up to date news on Adam. He was the kind fan who uploaded on SoundCloud all the 'Adam Lambert Hours' on the FLEAFM in New Zealand and most recently on a UK radio station. I did not know him, but in a sense I did :) so love him. RIP Gale. You ARE already in a great place.

I was always impressed with the dedication and the amount of work that this man gave Adam and his fanhood; his distinctive and regal name could not be missed. Though I imagined him to be a woman until I saw his picture, his eyes spoke to me as one who above everything else that is a fan empathized with Adam. Now I understand better his perspective; he traveled the same road with his gay brothers and sisters. Ironic that we do not know much of one another till we're gone, and even though I know of this wonderful man only posthumously, I am thankful for sharing with him his passion, however so remotely in cyberspace, as he contributed so much to this fandom experience. He is in heaven now, RIP Gale Chester Whittington. I would like to think his spirit is continuing with us on our path with Adam, as he had always done. atm

Liam McEwan (New Zealand TheFlea fm) will dedicate the next "Adam Lambert Hour" -- Sunday morning, New Zealand time) to one of Adam's most incredible fans and also a pioneer of human rights, Gale Chester Whittington. When people say that social media is bad, it surely can bring a lot of people together in a great way as well. I'll be tuning in Liam (Liam now has over 100,000 followers on twitter). When I started listening to his Adam Lambert Hour, he only had over 1,000!

And some of the first ones to follow Liam were from this blog.. He posted a thank you to us here...

1:36 nice of Liam to do that, he is mature beyond his 17 years. I am one of the 100,000 that follow him.

I am so sad to hear about this. Gale has been a huge part if not the biggest part of passing on and keeping track of all the links to every fan video, interview, photo etc of Adam that exists. He was tireless, working well into nights as I witnessed time and time again especially as fan concert footage was being uploaded to youtube. He was there within moments tweeting out the links including my own videos along with so many others coming through seemingly all at once. I always thanked him and as busy as he was always, always responded with a warm reply regardless of how busy he was. I often wondered who this man was and what his story was. His passion didn't go unnoticed, that's for sure. I found out about his death in the tweet from Adam this morning. Gale is smiling up there now I bet, knowing now that Adam saw what a devoted fan he was and how much he appreciated his devotion. May you rest in peace Gale. Keep up the great work up there;) Now you can be with your loved ones.

Though I didn't know him personally i did tweet with him and feel like I've lost a family member. So hard to believe he is gone. Alwys let people know they are appreciated. I now wish I had:((. Took him for granted like I do so many other lovely Glamberts. I love my Gamily so much!!......LB

RIP Gale Whittington.
Yea I listened to a few of his interviews with Adam and I recall commenting here to the effect they were clear, relevant and interesting. His audio interviews were pretty long but always held my attention right through. This good man must be happy and peaceful now in the presence of God.

He will be missed. He was absolutely of major importance to our fandom. He was thoughtful, generous and kind. He replied to me when others don't. Gale worked so hard to promote and support Adam. He kept is all informed and I am very sad to hear of his passing. RIP dear man.

Wasn't it nice that in his last years Adam came along and following his career gave Gale a new interest to be enthusiastic about. I know I have enjoyed "getting to know"
Adam. And I appreciate Gale's sharing his interest with us.
I wish I had known about him and his early activism in the gay rights movement before now......it's kind of amazing, and very heartwarming to see that we as a community can
feel sorrow at losing one of us that we only knew thru this site.........JAK

What a sad day to hear this news of the passing of a very dear Glambert. I often visited his sites and appreciated them. I'm so sorry to hear that he had no immediate family, but he did have the huge Glambert family. It would be nice if we all could do something in his memory, especially with no family. He was a loyal supporter of Adam and I'm glad that Adam knew of him and sent a tweet, as well as Ahley and Tommy Jo.
