Instead of firing several million dollar missiles into Syria, why not air drop a couple million gas mask in?

Before we bomb Assad for using chemical weapons we should probably prove he did. http://t.co/fiQ4sV4Fiv

I totally agree with Eber. Why not drop couple of millions of gas masks instead of bombs? We have no idea who the oppositions are. They are violent groups anyway judging from recent pictures and article in NY Times. European countries are all opposing any type of war on Asaad. NO MORE WAR US PLEASE! OBAMA STICK TO YOUR INITIAL TALKS ABOUT HAVING US TROOPS HOME AND IMPROVING THE ECONOMY.

Hmm,waiting earnestly for folks to 'defend' the stupid 'fans' that do not have the sense in knowing what to ask or not!
Last time a peep said it was weird and I said twas pathetic, now I will add nauseating. Eber response was apt, thank God it was not neil!
If these questions aren't personal, lemme know which are
Huh! Now tweets by members of Adam's immediate family have been posted here & his father has been asked very personal questions about Adam. ENOUGH of this intrusion into Adam's very personal life. It really goes beyond the pale. :-(
Sadbert's question.... *shaking my head*
that is really a dumb question.
People should ask better questions. Of course Eber loves both Adam and Neil the same.
My thoughts are simply on the civilians especially the children. At times I'm close to tears when I see their completely expressionless faces and some in grave pain. 400 children have died, due to gas mass destruction; more bombings will kill some more and their parents too. Most times, two wrongs don't make one right. But I respect President Obama...just hope this very difficult decision he makes is right. As the saying goes: Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
Lam-my
Nirvana Glambert & SadBert obviously have no life of their own & have no breeding & manners whatsoever.
Stalkers don't deserve to be answered.
@Lammy the problem is that there aren't substantial evidences to show that Assad used the chemical weapons. Check out the video I posted at 11:37pm.
I wonder if these rude self-entitled fans that demand personal info from Eber would have the nerve to ask these invasive questions to Eber, Neil or Adam's face? The way they even asked was obnoxious.I justbhave to shake my head in amazement at the rudeness. Eber always handles these idiots well.
Read the article Eber tweeted about Syria. VERY EYE OPENING!
The Idol pic at the top was also mislabeled as Danny's family and friends, when it is Adam's.
Don't we get the same rude fans on this fan site putting down Adam, his family, friends, etc.? They defend their view by stating that it's their right of freedom of expression. They don't know in depth meaning of it.
@funbunn40. Possibly individuals standing behind Adam's family are Danny's!?
11:58
Thank you for the informative video; I've heard before the crux of the matter but not in great depth. So both sides have their own findings / evidences. As I've said, my deepest fear is for the civilian people especially the children. And so I maintain 2 wrongs don't make 1 right with further bombings and God forbid further use of gas!! It must have been very painful for the little children to die this way and for their parents to just watch!!
Lam-my
@Lam-my. Read the article Eber posted as well. There aren't hard evidence that Assad used the chemicals. Words on the streets of Damasques blaming the rebels. These rebels can be extremists, Al Quada, Hezbollah, and others. None of the US allies are supporting yet another war in middle-east.
Lam-my Hi! There was an interview in Finnish Tv of the group of Finnish scientists going to Syria to investigate what has happened, trying to do almost what´s impossible to trace. I hope they find real proof of what has been used there. Maybe they already know?
The sad thing is the gas masks don´t really help people there when the nerve gas goes in through skin. There is no prevention for that. Very sad thing. I pray for those people there, hope the suffering will stop soon. Kindred.
Funbunn40 12.02am
I agree wholeheartedly, and I'm saddened that those tweets were even posted here.
Hey Kindred
This is the first time on this site I'm writing about something so bleak and painful. I just hope everything comes to an amicable end and that it doesn't flare up further in the region.
12:44.....I'll get to that article. Thanks.
Lam-my
Please add frightening to your list, anon 11;37.
@funbunn40 12:05
I believe the pic is a screencap from AmIdol TV program, an honest mistake by Idol, and somebody just captured it and thought it was hilarious... I was expecting to see a comment from Eber on this pic (had he seen it), :)))
I must say I love eber's use of words;life or living)huh!..nice one.he must be intelligent.
To those obnoxious ill mannered idiots, shame on them!I mean to ask for adam blood group?*shudder*
Very soon questions like, can you tell us the size of the glambulge will come up!
Mark my word
@ 12:19 & 2:21, Thanks for views on Idol pic. @1;13 As upsetting as the tweets were to Eber and I understand your view, I'm not sorry that it was posted here, as it does concern Adam and fan's behavior, rude as it was. Maybe if someone seeing their tweets as invasive and others saying so will prevent a recurrance. The anonymity of the internet gives some amnesia when it comes to manners and boundaries and some just don't think before they tweet. ..Hope all had a safe, enjoyable Labor day eweekend in the US and Happy Roshoshanna to all of our Jewish friends on this site.
I'm also worried about the people in Syria and the horrors of what these chemicals have done. I hope all countries would step up and work together to stop this slaughter, be sure they know who is responsible and then implement sanctions or do whatever it takes to stop this senseless torture. The US has always done their best with aid and military support, but we can't do it all and are no longer the financially strong country we once were. It's a decision I am glad I don't have to make and it weighs so heavily on Obama, who's trying to get our troops back home from Iraq and the middle east. Africa also has ongoing atrocities and even the US has insurmountable problems. I just wish there could be peace in the world with no more human suffering. A good friend of mine is a CRNA Army Col. that has done 2 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, has seen children maimed and killed and all sorts of horrors. He has said that the seemingly "good guys" there of today often become the terrorists of tomorrow and you never know who they really are. It all seems so futile, but how can you not help the victims? He said they had to give their last pint of blood to an enemy terrorist that had been wounded. They treated all casualties, enemy or not, and 2 of our men that were rescued shortly after, died becfore they could get more blood restocked. The returning vets here can't get jobs or the rehab they need. The resources can't handle the volume. It's a bad time for everyone. I wish the inhumanity and cruelty would end. It's all so pointless. Time for an Adam video to take me to a happier place. 'Night,y'all
Are we so bored now we need to have Neil's and Eber's tweets posted? Not as weird and over the line stalking as asking Adam's blood type but a bit much.
What's the Featured Picture gif all about? Food for thought .... and don't get me started on the morons who tweeted Eber .... tacky, tasteless and well and truly crossing the boundary lines.
@12:15 AM Yes!
@3:27 AM No, you don't. Scroll on by.
Some of adam fans use adam family to get his personal info.shameful!why people no brain to differentiate what to ask and what should not be asked.
Hey Neil, I like you and read your twitter feed. But on this tweet you made
"Now i gotta pay it forward to 2 strangers with brokedown cars. Or is it 4? I can't remember how Pay It Forward worked."
there's only one answer, it's help out where ever you can.
I think the featured picture of the day was at an interview when Adam was doing a "diva" imitation or something. I remember seeing it the first time but I'm fuzzy on the context. It was funny at the time.
I'll bet Eber gets even worse questions than these from Adam's fans. He usually handles them with humor and a witty irony. The "who do you love more" question was just ludicrous, beyond stupid.
I may not always agree with Eber and Neil about political issues, although I am a liberal, as they are. But at least they keep well-informed. Neil is quite abrasive, which I think hurts his credibility sometimes. Eber has a softer touch but still packs a punch when he wants to. Adam's family has taken many of us into new and eye-opening discussions about social issues, human rights, politics, religion, family dynamics, the risk of honesty. I think it's been pretty interesting. Adam comes from a family of thinkers.
Danny Gokey's family, I presume?
DRG
RIGHT EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO ALL THE PROBLEMS. ESPECIALLY IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATING GIRLS.
blood type is definitely red. Danny's family??? don't think so.
who do love more? myself:)teheteeheeheehee
alot of people should think more when reading over this blog.
I agree with DRG that the Idol pic is regarding Danny Gokey's family... and if you look closely at Neil's posture you're sure to get a giggle!!!!
Liked your post DRG
the family BEHIND Adam's family are STANDING, I would presume for a reason, as in enthusiastic support ... and Leila is clapping politely (and Neil is, well, being Neil, so funny with the arms crossed and contemplative facial expression)... and if my memory serves me correctly, that night on Idol, when Adam finished, Adam's family was NOT SITTING!!
Wishing this site would lay off politics. So far it's been a refuge from same. When Eber is looking for "evidence" we hope he's not taken in by media images of billowing clouds supposedly of "gas" whilst the talking head reports about Assad gassing his own people. These media images are fake and therefore propaganda because Sarin is invisible and odorless. There won't be a gas cloud to warn the victims. Thought you-alls should know. Skepticism on the brink of yet another war in the middle east is a virtue.
american people will no longer support wide -ranging military interventation in the slamic world.
CNN YUTUBE; AL QAEDA REBELS EATING THE HEART-LIVER OF S SYRIAN SOLDIERS .obama is a disgusting american-traitors. way back-he send arms to the syrian rebels.
the syrian rebels al qaeda link- admitting they mishandling the chemical weapons not asaad regime.
the syrian rebels-just executed several syrian soldiers-this is against in geneva rules-obama what are u going to do about it.
SYRIAN REBELS USED SARIN-NERVE GAS NOT ASAAD REGIME UNITED NATION OFFICIAL REPORT.
RAND PAUL;INTRODUCES BILL TO STOP OBAMA FROM ARMONG SYRIAN REBELS-PSHING BI-PARTISAN BILL.
@8:32am. Most independant journalists are reporting that Assad isn't responsible for use of chemicals on its own people. Also former Iran's president Ahmadinejad blamed Assad. He is leader of this extrimist group Hojatiyeh who claimed numerous times that Isreal should be wiped out of world's map. Also backing Hezbollah. Don't you think this situation is trying to provoke US to get into another war in the region? In due process then Iran build its own nuclear weapon. If US can gather other countries for support to stop this madness without military force then it's fine. Otherwise US shouldn't do this alone. No more war!
those tweets seem to be from young or international fans. Why don't you slam them a little bit more.
listening to TP on Energy music Radio in the UK as a do my blogging today. FUN.
Obama warns Assad not to cross a red line. Assad crosses the red line and Obama wants to "punish" him with "a shot across the bow" which in fact is another warning. Only this time he's not going after chemical weapons, not going to oust Assad, he's going to kill hundreds? thousands? of perhaps innocent people.
Khadafi "drew a line in the sand" that the Reagan was not to cross with out repercussions. The next day our military bombed his house. He never mentioned the Americans again. 30 years later his own people rose up against him and ousted him as the dictator he was.
The Middle East countries have been warring against each other for centuries. I say let them go at it and America stay out of it.
There are extremists in every Islamic country who want us all dead. We need to stop being the world's policemen, paramedics and home re-builders. We need in this dire economy to take care of our own.
Obama's whole administration will be judged by the decisions he makes with Syria. Not wanting to see more children die....I hope he makes the right one. Our economy is in the toilet and we're going to finance another limited "war"?
America be wise and don't listen to mainstream medias. They are trying to sell this going to war with syria. For the love of your young ones don't be fooled. Write to your state representatives and senators and tell them you don't want this war. Shame on the ones who said yes. They should send their own family kids to this war which they never do.
The first thing I noticed about the Idol picture is that Danny's family members are the only people standing.

@11:37 and @11:58, you had to watch a video to tell you that it's all about oil????The world's technology is fueled by oil, for the most part, not horses. Whoever controls the oil, controls the world. And where is most of the world's oil?
Wake up, the US government has never been the world's good guy, big brother. They are just looking out for themselves(and that includes US citizens) and their allies. If any of you are US citizens, you need to realize that. In theory, the middle east could cut off the world's oil supply if they wanted to. Then how in the world would we be able to get on the internet and talk about Adam? Or do anything else in our lives that requires technology? So before you knock the US as warmongers, have some perspective. Remember, every time you turn on a light switch, or drive your child to the doctor, the fuel to do so just didn't magically appear from thin air.
12:50, 1:02 and 1:24
Whatever decision Obama makes, he's going to blame the outcome on the Republicans. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
11:58 The US has more oil than all of the middle east combined. Obama and his EPA won't allow us to drill for it. Ever heard of South Dakota? They're drilling now, their unemployment rate is 1%. People from all over the US (who want to go to work) are flooding there because of the high paying jobs. Get Obama to open the Keystone pipeline and that oil won't go to China and Russia. It will stay here and prices will go down so it won't cost me so much to turn on a light switch or drive my child to the doctor. Oh, you forgot to mention that those electric cars that run on batteries have to be recharged overnight using that same light switch.
@1:58pm. 80% of US oil use it's domestic. Only 20% of it comes from South America specifically Venezuela and some from Saudi. On the other hand US allies get most of their oil from middle east and else where. There are other alternatives to oil but greedy world corporations aren't willing to invest in less oil dependency technology. Moral laxitive is rampent around the globe. Bottom line US foreign policy is in favor of capitalism of big corporations that supposedly is the main engine of world economy. US economy is tied to how the european countries economy is doing. Down fall of Europe will effect US.
I never mentioned electric cars. They are a joke. Where is your proof that the US has as much oil as the middle east? I'm not being sarcastic. If you have any scientific info, I'm willing to read it. I'm a biologist, but I'm no treehugger. I'm all for drilling, within reason. I also see the purpose for the EPA. Where do you think all that oil came from, anyway?
I just wanted to point out that it's pretty naive to believe that US intervention in any worldwide conflict is out of a noble concern for human rights.
@abbiegel just google it you get tons of reports about world oil reserve. As I recall Canada is first. Then Saudi. Then Iran. Then Iraq. Then US. Etc.
List of oil reserve countries:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_proven_oil_reserves
List of oil producing countries:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_production
I was close but that close. Check out the lists above for correct info.
Thank God and the government for the efforts of the EPA. They are doing their best to insure that your grandchildren don't live or die in a country with toxic water, land and air. Read about the filthy tar sand oil the Keystone pipeline would carry. The transportation and refining of this product is a recipe for national disaster. The Canadian pipeline had more than a dozen spills in a years time. This oil does not float it sinks making it almost impossible to clean up. It pollutes ground water and land. We have already polluted a wide expanse of our country, do you want the generations ahead of us to struggle to live in a toxic wasteland?
Don't be gullible and believe what you hear without question. Verify everything.
@Anonymous September 6, 2013 at 2:15 PM,
Oh I still remember those "old good days in western erope in the 1970s" when there was an "oil boycott" from the Middle East and cars and motorcycles were not allowed on the street on sunday... Only public transport was available those days...
I thought this thread was mighty interesting.
Obama is using Kosovo in his talks. Basically saying it will be a smooth intervention to topple Assad. How about comparing it to first Persian Golf by Bush Sr.? Even though it was successful but then it created Bin Laden and whole other crap that came after it. How about US tax dollars used to help so called freedom fighters of Chechens in Russia to weaken Putin? We got Tsernaev brothers in Boston massacre. US should change its foreign policy for its own sake.
There is no nice way to kill people or stop people from killing. Shall we become an isolationist country? This is not an easy decision, the entire world is looking our way to see what we will do. Whatever course is taken, public opinion will be devastating - President Obama can't win, there is no right way to respond. If the situation wasn't dire thousands of Syrians wouldn't have fled their country. If you believe in prayer, this might be a good time.
@6:19pm. Stop listening to mainstream media news trying to brain wash you to this war. Isolation from what? It's not all the countries of the world are in Syria trying to stop Assad and they need our help!? This isn't like WW2. US wants to go in to this situation all by itself without any one of its allies supporting this. I talked to my family in Canada and Austrialia and they are shocked by this. The world witness two wars by Bush Admin. and because of that US lost its credibility. That's why people elected Obama cause he spoke about finishing wars and bringing back troops and improving economy. Helping to improve our schools. Creating jobs. Health. Etc.
Anon 6:19 & 6:49 you both have valid and similar points...not opposing (as I read it). US absolutely does not want to go into war alone. No one really wants to help us. Obamma feels like he has to do this. He can't win either way. There will always be those who will blame him if he does and those who will blame him if he doesn't. He can't win. I gathered that is what anon 6:19 meant. Just my opinion.
I'd rather not see it as win or not win! It's people's especially children's lives, hundreds, we're talking about. As I've said, heavy is the head that wears the crown; it's a gigantic decision and a titanic load that Obama shoulders. I hope President Obama can in some ways resolve part of the problem but most of all alleviate people's sufferings not add on to them! So difficult to watch the children's blank, staring faces, fear in their eyes, starving...

President Obama has attempted to make good on every campaign promise, but he suffers from a terrible affliction, lack of cooperation. The one thing he has been able to accomplish The Affordable Care Health act is already helping thousands of people and more each year, but it is the only goal the Rep. party has. Kill it! He must not be allowed to succeed at anything. Instead of trying to help our country they have spent 5 years trying to destroy the first black presidents policies. As stated by Mitch O'Connell "get him out of office!"
Obama's crime - governing while black.
No one wants another futile war, Obama least of all.
But do we ignore the slaughter of civilians , the gassing of non combatants, Am I my brother's keeper? An age old question. Do we isolate ourselves and say "don't worry about the rest of the world" ??
I read history of Syria and conflicts by rebels has been happening in that country since 7th century. Out of the rebels the strongest group ruled Syria. Right now we don't know who these rebels are. Hezbollah or Al Quada or Muslim Brotherhood or others. If we help these rebels which group will emerge as strongest to rule Syria. This isn't the first time that Syria sees masaccre of its own people. It has been happening for a long time. Maybe moderate Islamic countries can step up to stop this madness. Saudis Kawaitis Emarate Turkey Morraco Indonesia Melaysia and other Islamic states that are peaceful. US shouldn't get involved. I'm by all means against war. In this day an age war isn't solution to problems. Right education is the greatest solution to solve world problems.
There are dozens of civil wars happening around the globe right now. Why the attention is on Syria? You say because Assad uses chemical weapons against its own people. How come when Sadam used chemical weapons the world sat quiet in the 80s? Reagan admin. funded Iraq at the time to continue with war against Iran even after he used chemical. US wants to get involved because Russia is helping and funding Assad. Some of these rebels are chechens from Russia fighting with Assad soldiers. Chechans are from Caucauses region of Russia who are fighting Putin for their independence. They are backed by country of Georgia funded by US Jamestown Foundation (google it for more info. where your tax dollars go). Remember the Boston massacre few months ago? Tsarneav brothers are from this Caucauses region. They are extremists to the max. All this is crazy. IMO the whole world should come together as one to solve this madness of extremists in the region. Policing the region won't solve anything. It escalates other problems.
So basically the whole world is fucked. Right ?
As was said before, let the Arab, Muslim, Islamic Middle East fight as they have been doing for centuries. There is no way to win (cease war) when these countries have been fighting over sand for thousands of years.
If you read recent history, Mighty USSR went to war with Afghanistan, spent billions doing so and the cost to them was the breakup and bankrupting of their own country.
Obama must keep us from starting a war in Syria...yes, WE will be the agressors as Syria has done nothing to America. Bush went to war in Iraq with more than 40 Nations, NATO, the UN and the US congress agreeing it should be done. Obama went to our allies and they all turned their backs. He said he could bypass congress, but now seeks their approval. His own party is against him. The military is against him. I think if he does this he will be impeached. JMHO
The Obama Administration cut billions of dollars from the budget of the Department of Defense and now he wants to start a war with Syria when our troops are war weary and so are the citizens of the US. What hypocracy from a man who lost Iraq and after sending in 60,000 more troups during the surge is pulling out of Afghan war in 2014 giving our enemies a time line.
How many more young people have to die or be maimed for life before we the people rise up and say enough is enough?
Have you called your congressman or senator to state your disapproval of this? It is so easy to do. Google your state name and US representatives. Then do the same with US senators. It doesn't matter your party affiliation, you can still call them toll free at their offices in your state. It takes a minute of your time but will save lives...if you care.
IMO US has lack of understanding other cultures. US gets into welfare of other countries without understanding the end ramifications. This whole Islamic extremists all of it started when now dear buddy of Obama Berjenski went to Shah's palace and told him we want you to leave Iran. When the west in 70s was in lack of oil use because of OPEC when Shah was leading the organization and wouldn't budge in to increase production of oil and lowering price of oil. The west got the best of him by having the human rights organization and west media to attack him over 32 political prisoners of Islamic extremists and making stories that he is torturing his people. This all started in 1979 by Carter Admin. Kicking Shah from Iran. A cleric government of Iran has its hands like octopuses all over the region. With every single conflict in the region name of Iran is in the forefront. Iran from a modern country where all of its citizens were respected all over the world turned into a terrorist state with having most of its intellects dead or in prison. Women had equal rights but now they have to seek permission from men in their family. If you think I'm bullsh***g, listen to one hour interview of David Frost with Shah. He says exactly what happened.
Right now any intervention in Syria will have a great price to be paid. Iran's Supreme leader said on Friday prayer if US does anything Iran will send in troops to defend Assad. Obama admin. Said we don't take Iran's claim too serious cause they have nothing to do with Syria. I'm sorry to say this to Obama and what rights the US has to get into war. Don't say it's for human rights purposes cause it's not. This is basically to tell Russia to back off the Middle East cause US is mighty and in control of the region.
I find the various realities and perspectives offered on this thread relevant and sound. Simply just want the war to end; the Syrian people are good people and I can't bear to see the pain on the beautiful faces of the children.
Lam-my
@lammy
Let me assure you if it wasn't because of strategic location of Syria in Middle East and oil and other natural resources of the region US wouldn't care about civil war of another country that doesn't jeopardize US national security and so called free market. Everyone in this world are after their own welfare.
This article gives solution to this situation:
Global Fund for Women is appalled by the horrific violence, including the use of chemical weapons, in Syria. To date, the civil war has left more than 100,000 dead, displaced over six million, and made refugees of one million children.
In Syria, like in most conflicts, women and girls are subjected to human rights violations including torture, violence, and sexual assault, as deliberate weapons of war. As we witness the spillover of violence into neighboring countries, we have to remember that war and militarism disproportionately impacts women and children. Whether inside their war-torn country, displaced while seeking refuge, or in the makeshift camps they reach after many hardships, women and children are constantly under the threat of sexual violence and rape.
More violence is not the solution. In solidarity with our sisters at MADRE and Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, we implore the United States and its allies to engage in peaceful political dialogue, to put pressure on armed actors to implement a ceasefire, and stop the flow of weapons into Syria. Military intervention is not the answer.
Decades of funding women-led organizations in conflict and post-conflict regions have taught us that building a robust civil society depends on respecting and protecting women’s human rights and supporting women-led organizations. It is only through this critical inclusion that conflict will be resolved and human lives spared.
While Syrian women did not choose to go to war, their voices and leadership around building peace must be front and center; they must have decision-making authority.
By strengthening women’s leadership – including movements to protect women’s basic human rights and activists who document and address violations – we can meet the critical need for peaceful transition in Syria.

The whole thing is about trillions of dollars revenue from natural resources and strategic location of Syria sending the natural resources to Europe. Check out the above link for details.
