New York Times Reviews LAY ME DOWN

VIA NYTimes:
Compared with “Wake Me Up” and “Hey Brother,” the rest of “True” doesn’t offer much challenge, even if it is thoroughly effective in places. “Dear Boy” is completely straightforward electro-infused house, and it’s sharp. “Lay Me Down,” produced in part by Nile Rodgers, who is having a banner year, and featuring a bracing vocal by Adam Lambert, is completely valid modern disco, faithful to the genre as it once was but not a slavish throwback. It’s another escape into yesteryear by an artist carrying today — and tomorrow — on his shoulders.

Awesome beautiful pic.
Well, they didn't say anyting negative about the song and they said Adam had a "bracing" vocal. I think that's GOOD, esp. for the NYTimes. LMD got a nice mention as well as Nile. Apparently the rest of the tracks didn't get a mention at all. All good for LMD and Adam.
DRG
ya can't win them all.
Most reviewers are gushing over LMD. The NYT rarely gushes. I think this review of LMD is just fine.
Swallow your pride and crank up “Lay Me Down”, which taps Adam Lambert (winner of the 8th American Idol) and Nile Rodgers (winner of all things disco guitar) for a funky Motown cut that’s downright good, and not in a “LET’S GET DEVASTATED AT THIS POOL PARTY” sort of way.
Oops...forgot to give you the link to read more about it. Here:

@7:05 here
Hey Brother seems to be getting noticed as much as Lay Me Down. At least Lay Me Down got mentioned in this review.
@Avicii:
What's your favourite track from the album #TRUE? #favTRUEtrack
@JordanMeehan:
@Avicii Lay Me Down! #favTRUEtrack #True
Jordan is Grammy music blogger
@7:05/7:06
They've add this to the bottom of their article. ;)
*[CORRECTION: Lambert didn't win Season 8 — he was a runner-up. Which is RIDICULOUS, because he's great on this track. Sorry for the mistake, Idolers.]
I love Adam so much.
Jordan has nothing at all to do with the Grammys. He is a gay music blogger with less than 2k followers. . He has always liked adam
Avicii has clearly said during several interviews that his favorite song on 'True' is LAY ME DOWN! When you listen carefully to this track, you can hear all the wonderful bassline, guitar, vocal prowess and DJ production. It's a real gem. Everyone needs to put their headphones on and blast it away. Why is the USA always going for country-sounding songs? I don't get it. Country's nice but there are SO many other music genres to tap into.
Out of subject,There is a tweet from Terrance.He was rehearsing w/Adam & Queen today. Unbelievable!
I like this piece of concise, precise review of LMD. The last rather poetic sentence is not just about LMD; it's Adam's cornerstone of his singing and music: "It's another escape into yesteryear by an artist carrying today - and tomorrow - on his shoulders." This sums up how Adam merges music of the past, present, future. The future is probably the most illuminating as propounded in LMD; without leaving out the past and present.

Avicii has two mv out on youTube for his singles please support. Even if LMD is not a single we have to support Avicii with the True album. More money and exposure for all.
Considering this is the NY Times, I think this is a very good review for LMD. Let's keep buying and gifting to move it up the chart. Adam asked us for our support so we know this must be very important to him.

Lam-my - Although I would like to think the author of the article is referring to Adam with the quote you mentioned, I actually believe it was referencing Avicii, as it was True that he was critiquing. I may be wrong, but that was my interpretation.

Yes it is possible what you pointed out; but the thread title states it's NY Times review on LMD and not True. Also, this phrase leads me to think it's about Adam..."It's another escape into yesteryear..." Not sure if that applies to Avicii whose music is modern electronic rather than "yesteryear" let alone escape there. This being an NY writer probably would be concentrating more on Adam than Avicii. But your point is valid if one reads it directly.

Lam-my, don't go by the title here, go read the review at the NYT. The link is right under the title. The review is about the album. What's posted here is just a paragraph from the review.
LOL the featured pic is a little mesmerizing.

Yes when I read the whole article, it is referencing Avicii and his albums/music. Thanks for the pointer. :)

anyone know about the tweet 8:14 is talking about? thanks it sounds very interesting.
@11.17pm
Terrance sent out a couple of tweets yesterday about Adam and Queen...but even after reading them I'm not sure if he was rehearsing with them or was at the rehearsals (as in watching).
Terrance D. Spencer @LoveMrSpencer 17 Sep
Sorry @fun is just in the same rehearsal hall my bad but my best friend @adamlambert has one of the best voices ever in the world. #wow
Terrance D. Spencer @LoveMrSpencer 17 Sep
In rehearsal with @adamlambert and @queen #ilovemylife
Thought there was another one, but can't find it now.
@HK fan,
This is not 11;17 but I thank you for your post.

BREAKING NEWS:
The group FUN performing with Adam/Queen as one of the guest performancers at IHeartRadio.
shirleyhalperin @shirleyhalperin
For those @adamlambert fans wondering what time he + Queen will hit the @iheartradio stage, my sources say 11:59pm on Friday night!
1:00, where did the news of Fun playing with Adam and Queen come from?
Terrance D. Spencer @LoveMrSpencer
Just had a great lunch with my boo @adamlambert now I have the pleasure to be in rehearsal with #queenbert and @fun #rockandroll! #queen!
FUN performing with Adam/Queen...Wow; I like the lead singer's voice, will sound compatible with Adam's leggiero. Their 'Tonight We're Young' is super good like LMD. Adam is getting all the big connections and they in turn too, because Adam has strong lucrative eastern connections.
Lam-my
We can't please everyone!!!:)
Just explore all the opportunities like what Adam's is doing and everything will be alright!!!:)
Adam is having the blast and just ignore the critics!!!:)
We are rockin around the world folks!! Adam's name is everywhere and it's exciting for the real fans indeed!!!:)
Canadian
Oh my glory! The Featured Picture - gif- is SEXY!!!!!!!
No pics of Adam arriving in Las Vegas or of his godfathers???
@ lam-my
Adam's leggerio shows up nicely in the zebra pants.
Where's JAK, their her favorite. There? They're? Whatever.
It's they're(they are) her favorites. There indicates a place(stand there); their shows ownership, possession(their books). So that's the English lesson for today. Whatever the correct word, Adam does look hot in those pants.
@4:18 AM
A picture has gorgeous picture of Adam Lambert just surfaced over at Adam Official, link post in Adam discussion.
Reportly he was backstage with Brian and Roger at a Motley Crew concert. Wearing the necklace fans gave him.
Looking so fine; linked by two excited females.
Also, famous personality, Robin Leach tweeted that Adam was there back stage along with other famous people.
Sorry about the jumbled up first sentance, should have proofread. Hope you still got the message.
FUN is huge! If they're appearing (a little) with Queenbert, that is very good! Even higher profile for Adam. Love hearing Terrance talk about Adam. He adores him. Best friends. So excited for those of you going the IHR show tomorrow.!!! The rest of us will be waiting for your reports.
And hey, I wouldn't worry about the NYT giving LMD "faint praise." They are pretty stingy when it comes to going overboard with their reivews. I think this one was fine, and I think they gave Adam good props.

@5:38 AM
Thanks, for the information. Went over to Adam Official and looked at Adam's picture; you are so right Adam looks so fine! He is such a goodlooking man. I wish I was there. Proud to be a Glamhopper/Glambert.
Love it when I hear that Adam is hobnobbing with other BIG stars. Right where he should be. I like him to be known professionally and personally by other big names. So cool that he was out with Queen seeing Motley Crue.
DRG
You know what...I thought about that too. lol!
Lam-my
My above comment is for 5:15.
Lam-my
5:15, LOL!! Great minds think alike!

Canadian's nonsensical stanzas and exclamation points and hehes are annoying. And I'm sure she will reply with one. Roll eyes.
Where are we hearing the news of FUN from? Just Terrance's tweet? Are they one of the surprise guests?
@ 7:30 a,m. They don't annoy me. She is writing with expression, I like it. If you are excited, show it !!!!!******!
JAK
Canadian writes nonsense. Annoying
If everyone whom some regard as annoying left the site it would disappear. Probably me first......JAK
JAK, no you could stay. There are several in front of you for the annoying award.
11:19
I gather you yourself are one of the contestants for the award?!
@ JAK _Just my little fantasy here...Your grandson actually gets hooked up with Adam through his other musician connections in Las Vegas tonight.They have a little chat before the big night tomorrow and your dear one says to Adam,"How about a little respite in Orlando before you head back home to Hollywood.I have the coolest grandma I would love you to meet." Adam looks at him ,starts to roll his eyes ever so slightly because, you know, Orlando is not that close to Vegas and I'm a 31 year -old guy who has lots of better things to do after performing with Rock Royalty again-and, besides, I gotta get ready for Glee rehearsals. Give me a break , man!" Then your grandson says, "Yeah, Yeah, but Adam, have you ever lurked around that 24/7 Adam Lambert blog site over the past 4 and 1/2 years and saw posts from someone named JAK...."Adam doesn't let him finish his sentence. "I'll have my manager book the red eye to Orlando after my concert tomorrow. But don't give her any heads up-I want it to be a surprise!"
And on Saturday morning your doorbell rings, JAK ,and there stands your grandson--I think you did say he was a tall fellow---and for a moment you can't read the oddest look on his face as he approaches you to give you a hug. And when he does, right behind him stands the most beautiful man, with the gorgeous eyes and a smile that gives you a little peak at heaven."Hi JAK , he says." Thank you for all the love and sunshine that you always spread among my glamberts; you are a treasure."
Well, JAK, you can finish the rest of this story as your grandson catches you collapsing into his arms....
@Lorraine I love it! @JAK deserves it!
@ lorraine....I give you an A+ and kiss on both cheeks, European fashion, sounds like a plan to me!......JAK
Well, maybe an A. Research might have shown you I live in Tampa, g'son lives in Orlando!!!....<3
@JAK--Oh,well...details, details--I'll take the A--as long as you don't have too much trouble wiping the grin off your face as you lay on your pillow tonight--just WONDERING....
