VIA Washington Post:
LAMBERT IS READY FOR THE THRONE
Adam Lambert is no Freddie Mercury, but he’s a scary good stand-in.
The “American Idol” alum electrified the crowd with his perfect high notes on songs like “We Are the Champions” and “Who Wants to Live Forever.” He had the right energy and sang a handful of songs with an ease that proved this is only the beginning for the 31-year-old.
Pop-rock trio fun. also sang with Queen, and lead singer Nate Ruess had hard shoes to fill following Lambert. But the singer held his own during “Somebody to Love.”
“Thank you to Queen for making this dream come true,” Ruess told the crowd.
Lambert came back onstage and the musicians closed the night with “We Are the Champions,” as fun.’s Jack Antonoff playfully strung the guitar next to Brian May.

Now THIS is what we expected to hear (although he's been ready for years).
I already have him on the Throne.
So, I think Adam is going to rule this planet!
Adam... is no Freddie Mercury...
Nate Ruess... held his own...
Just a few examples of clueless writing and 'journalism'... grow a pair!
Whine and complain there isn't enough press on Adam and then great reviews come in and you just keep whining and complaining.
This is a great review and those of you who can't see it are idiots. Again, nothing is ever good enough for you. The title is Adam is ready for the throne and you still don't like parts of it. Unbelievable.
Awesome review! @5:36 PM Yes, Adam isn't Freddie Mercury. He is ADAM LAMBERT. And he is going to be legend like Freddie.
great reviews!! I watched the whole 30 min + set,& Adam RULED the vocals..loved his outfit and sexy boots, too. Now thousands more from the US will see how wonderful BB's singing is.;also how very powerful, too! He was so nice to Nate also.
I think we know that Adam Lambert is not Freddie Mercury and never pretends to be. And he certainly does a spectacular job performing those songs with Queen. Freddie was one of a kind just as is Adam. He is an amazing singer with a vocal talent no one in music has today. Nice to read these positive reviews and comments about Adam and Queen. Now all we need is for the listening audience to give Adam the same attention when he releases that third album.
All I have to say is:
OMG he F***ing, he ROCKED!!!

I'm so glad that Adam is not trying to be a Freddie clone but instead he does his own special interpretation of each song and as he says pays tribute to Queens timeless catalogue of hits. I personally love both Adam and Freddie's voice.... they are both unique and incredible singers.
So happy for all the accolades for QAL.

There is no one in the world like Adam, who in the hell can sing like that? No one but ADAM LAMBERT!!!

Me too. I'm happy Adam is from Europian descend and Freddie is from terrorist state descend.
@8:30PM What are you talking about? Who is descend from Europe or terrorist state?Which state is terrorist state? Are you high?
LOLOLOLOL!!!!!
@ 8:30 pm....Freddie was born in Zanzibar, to parents from India before they all immigrated to England. He and his parents were of the Zoroastrian faith. I really haven't read of
Zoroastrians being terrorists.
@8.30pm is an idiot & his or her racist leaning is appalling.
JAK here....it's a wonderful review even with the humorous boo-boo....possibly a typo somewhere along the line.
I didn't see the fun guitarist re-stringing his guitar ( strung) standing next to Brian, but I did see him strum it!
Freddie is a Persian aka Iranian descendant of Zoroastrian religion born in Zanzibar. He went to school in India then at age of 17 moved to England with his family. Mercury (Jivah جيوه) is a popular last name among Zoroastrian. He has family with this last name. I have a friend who went to UCLA with Freddie's cousin back in 70s. His cousin's name is Sorosh Jivah. Freddie translated Jivah to Mercury for his star performance name. He changed his first name from Farokh فرخ to Freddie.
Freddie's parents were Indian of Persian ancestry, not born in Persia/Iran.
