The interview

Anonymous said...

Very accurate observation by Boy George; in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

That's my thinking.

Anonymous said...

I have always liked George Michael's music best. Is it true that Boy George is more popular in the US than GM?

Anonymous said...

Pack your bags Adam! London's waiting for you!

Anonymous said...

Totally agree!

Anonymous said...

That is, if Adam is willing to leave the weho nights and buddies behind him... well, there's a lot of action in London, too!

Anonymous said...

Then why is he not big over there now? Just because he is American? He should be huge everywhere because he can out sing and perform almost everyone in any country. I am not a troll or a Debbie downer just a realist. I do not understand why Adam isn't the biggest world wide star of this decade. Makes no sense to me.

Anonymous said...

Adam could hang out with Boy George in London. Sounds nice..

Anonymous said...

at 3:09 PM

I'm sure he would get a lot more media coverage in GB if he actually lived there; appearances on tv-shows, radioplay and lots of pretty pics in local gossip magazines and tabloids.

Anonymous said...

Can't see Adam leaving his family and many friends in sunny California.

Anonymous said...

Internationally people know good music when they hear it

Don't know what's wrong with some people in this country

Anonymous said...

US puts all British performers on pedstol. From Beatles, led Zeppline, Rolling Stone, Elton John, Queen, Adele, Susan Boyle, Muse, One Direction, and many many others. Not to leave out actors, directors, producers, TV programs and tons of other things. It's time for Britian to return this favor and make Adam huge in UK. Play his music on rotation on UK radios. Make him huge there then US radios will snag him.

Anonymous said...

at 3:17 PM

Probably not, but in LA he will not go any further than he is right now careerwise.

Anonymous said...

Yea, but US did never put George Michael and Robbie Williams on pedestal. They are my faves. Sorry, but your music taste sucks. Now you put Avicii on pedestal and there are better djs..

Anonymous said...

Uk not playing adam's music coz his not brit.same goes to queen fans, they dont like adam coz he is american.what if adam was brit, all will change right.now reality is adam is here.we have to go on in hope that oneday adam's music will get equal treatment in the radio.

Anonymous said...

George Micheals was big over here, until the scanndal.

Anonymous said...

Avicii lies

Anonymous said...

Boy George's scandal was worse. I guess you have to be corrupt to make it in the US.

Anonymous said...

Adam is a Southern California boy through and through. I doubt that he'd move to the UK. But I wouldn't doubt that he'd take extended visits there if it helped his career. He does have lots of fans there.

Anonymous said...

Bullshit Boy George. There isn't any logic to this thinking. Great Britain has heard Adam. Why isn't he huge there regardless of where he is from?

Anonymous said...

Adam is very successful, gay or not gay.. look at what he has accomplished in a few years. Some don't get a Grammy nod no matter how long or famous they have been. He is loved for not only his voice but also for his humanity.. IMHO Adam will have longevity and he is going in that direction doing it his way, without selling himself out.

No pity party for Adam.. He's doing GREAT..

Anonymous said...

BG should worry about himself.

choons said...

ADAM was the answer to a clue on the game show Jepardy just now!! "Who was the flamboyant singer who headed the Glam Nation tour?"
of course it was answered correctly immediately.
YAY!

Anonymous said...

Observation - Elton John and George Michael were both firmly established as artists BEFORE they came out. Boy George spent a lot of time denying he was gay in the early years of his career.

Anonymous said...

@4:44 PM No Shit!!?? That is sooo coool. YES!!!

Anonymous said...

4:44 PM How much was the question worth?

carolynj said...

First 4:32--nice remarks. I believe Adam knows what he's doing and that's making a nice living doing what he loves. The joy on his face as he performs or talks about music is magic. Fame is fine, to a point, and then it takes over your life and privacy. Not compromising + slow and steady diversity just may = longevity.

Anonymous said...

I guess the US won't be getting Hurts either. They are so good.

Anonymous said...

We could 'if' everything in life, but there is really no way to know what would follow. This may be exactly the best path for him in the long run.

Adam is his own brand of talent and will be remembered for many individual achievements. We glamberts are definitely ♥prejudice♥ and only want everything good in life for Adam.

Anonymous said...

@Choon thanks for the heads up. I'll tune in here in westcoast to watch Jeopardy. How much was the question for?

Anonymous said...

OMG, someone tweeted the following link about Adam being a 'question' on JEOPARDY!!!

Anonymous said...

This is 5:17! Sorry about posting this news again. Had not read the full thread.

Anonymous said...

The truth is bec. Adam is realllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!:)

He is stubborn, real and not a puppet!!!:)

Music and acting industry are full of BS that's why he!he!

We just have to be happy where he is right now and he is successful in his own rights!!!:)

Adam Lambert is one of the best American singers EVER. Let the USA lay claim to that. Boy George is fangirlin' and who could really blame him.

choons said...

Adam's Jepardy question was the first one in the American Idol category, so only worth 200 dollars I think.
BUT worth a million bucks to us Glamberts!!

Anonymous said...

Me thinks Boy G just wanted to show his support and is wondering the same thing many of us wonder daily - why isn't more appreciated by the US music business. He really should be everywhere if the VOICE & PERSONA had anything to do with success... He should be treated like the National Treasure that he is by the suits in power esp. The mainstream, middle US, c&w and the wgwg lovers will never accept or get him.

Anonymous said...

No it was worth 800. They don't have to start at the lowest

Anonymous said...

There are many good singers who don't make it. That's life. Adam just didn't have good enough material and he didnt prove to be an interesting, relatable artist even tho everyone knows he has a good voice. No big mystery . No conspiracy

Anonymous said...

Adam's music is not being played on radio stations here, not because he is gay, but because his music isn't main stream pop. He does very well with the dance track charts which radio stations don't usually play. Not everything is about his sexual preference. Change the formula and top the pop charts...simple as that.
And by the way, the last thing Adam needs to do is hang out with Boy George. That guy is a sicko with a criminal assault and hostage taking record. His best bet would be to collaborate with Brian May and Roger Taylor writing new music.

Anonymous said...

I may be misunderstanding what Boy George is saying. Tell me if I am wrong. What I think he is implying is; that talented British entertainers that come here are instantly famous; especially the boy bands; The Beatles were, and many others. Many female artist also, such as Adele and others.

After reading it again; I thought that he meant if Adam was British, and had came to America, then he would be more famous here; as others that have come. Does anyone else understand it that way?

Anonymous said...

6:08 PM - Here

I was responding to the Blogger's title; "Boy George said that If Adam Lambert was British he would be famous."; but, after reading Boy George's tweet; he actually said that, "if Adam Lambert were British, he would be famous HERE."
So that one word changed the whole meaning. I should have read the tweet more carefully before posting. So just discount my post at 6:08. Thanks.

damn I always watch Jepardy! and missed it tonight just like I missed him on DWTS sitting with Brooke last season.

Anonymous said...

To hit it big in the UK you have to break through those who rule the industry. Adam was there and kept on back burner making way for
marketing prime UK artists. All the name of the game. UK promotions were'nt up to stratch at all and one venue far too small. Now the world was a different matter. Promotions were good but yet found it differcult to get Adam back due to then US committments. (which still took oodles of time).

Anonymous said...

Yeah, yeah. Adam didn't make it to the Aussie Boy George night in Oz last year.

Anonymous said...

You have to remember that Adam has a great international fanbase.
It's all about promotions and that's where it got so frustrating. There's no doubt Adam soars above anyone out there!

Anonymous said...

I watch Jeopardy every day at home, but I'm on the road this week, so of course, I missed it. Damn. Once you've made Jeopardy, you KNOW you've made it! LOL.

I don't quite know what to think of the UK an US pop radio scene. All I know is that Adam's albums contain great songs that are in no way inferior to those at the top of the charts. If they had been recorded by some huge-name singer, they'd probably all be hits. Adam is doing fine. I'm loving the journey and I think big things will happen over time.

Huge in what sense?

Boy George has been one of adams idols, Boy George obviously likes adam- wouldn't that be great if they could do a song together. Add him to the long list that should work with Adam!

Maybe not a good idea. Boy George is scandal prone. Other than his years as a drug addict, there was the 15 month jail sentence for chaining up a male escort he hired and allegedly beating him.

Anonymous said...

adam is the best singer.i don't know the reason why his music is not played on radio.he has great music and voice, that's the thing we all want to hear on radio.why they are looking for his personal life and where he is from? all i have to say, music is music.american or british,i don't mind. he is the best international singer.true talent cannot be ignored always.he will get the success he deserves:).............india glambert.

Anon 4:46; nice observation.
Elton, BG, ricky martin etc were all established before coming out, they had proved their worth and had made certain steps that couldn't be removed when they came out. Esp. Elton john, my dad told me that, he claimed to be a bi-sexual before coming out.
Remember gene simmons? When adam came out, he said'that boy has killed his career'..a lot of people insulted him but he was just honest!
Madge n brit, had an onstage kiss, what happened? Nothing
adam did same, what happened?..a lot did!
Adam moving to the UK wouldnt make sense (IMO), i think he just has to be more profressional, hopeful and everything will turn out well.
My big sister in the music industry keep saying that, with the right publiscist, and kingpins (rihanna,JAY-z) adam's career will move faster!
I still have faith things will turn well for adam.

Anonymous said...

I think everything will turn out alright . Adam could never be a liar or pretend he something he not. I think Adam doing fine may be slower than others but will get their. When he there he will stay there like many don't . Gene Simmons said to Adam shut up about your sexual preference or it will hurt your career , what he said Adam repeated it. Adam will make it and still be true to himself. I think everyone knew Elton J was gay he was not fooling anyone. Also RM. Adam has said he could not live that way. He said everyone would know he could not fool them. Adam will make it and be true to himself. Lot that get their so fast don't always stay there Adam step by step will make it and be here a for many years. Many from Idol who were straight did not do as well as Adam at all. Gene S. is obnoxious as Adam called him whether he was a little right or not.

Anonymous said...

Boy George or no Boy George, I've always thought that LA is not the best possible place to establish a worldwide singing career. I imagine there are a lot more interesting and cutting edge things going on elsewhere in the music business.

Anonymous said...

4:46 and 10:43
Nice observation?
THAT observation has been talked about here ad infinitum! For 4+ years, so please give it a rest.

I'm sure Boy George is in aww about Adam's talent and persona, like he has been all along and thinks he would so deserve to be more appreciated in US!

And please no hate towards BG here, this is Adam Lambert fan site!

Anonymous said...

Adam is Adam always true to himself. Takes major guts and yet he stays transparent no matter what. His sincere to the max, no pretence.... and that's what I love about the guy.

Anonymous said...

Since Adam came out at the age of 18, he never tried to hide who he was. It was never an issue on Idol and as I watched him perform each week, it never occured to me that he was gay. I was more interested in his vocal talent, the songs he sang and his mesmerizing stage presence. Maybe because he was more flamboyant, more glitz and glitter in the beginning of his career after Idol with his first album, he might have turned off some people and then the AMA performance obviously hurt him. But all that is in the past. Adam has matured, seems very confident in himself and has gained so many friends along the way who respect him as a person and recognize his amazing voice. London may be waiting for Adam, but his home, family and friends are here and so are so many of his fans. He is underappreciated here in the USA, but his time will come and I believe he will have longevity in the crazy and unpredicatable world of the music business because he is just too talented to be forgotten.

Yep! And he isn't the first to realize this fate.

@4:44 PM
Please Note:

The question on Jeopardy was, "Who headlined the Glam Nation Tour"? The woman answered, "who is Adam Lambert", which was the correct answer. Why did you add the word "flamboyant" to the question; which is not true. You are not entitled to your own set of facts.

If you are going to quote someone, at least quote them accurately. The video is on this site; it might be helpful if you checked it again. If you think of Adam as flamboyant; then fine, you are entitled to your opinion; but, don't quote someone else as saying it, if they didn't.

From all accounts Adam M. Lambert is making a decent living; and he seems happy; which is really the most important thing. He has said he does not believe in accumulating unnessary debt and is a very good business man when it comes to his money. He seems to get very nice gigs while working on his third album which is reported to be out in 2014.

Adam seems healthy and happy; with lots of good and loyal friends, and associates who seem to love and respect him. He has over 2 million twitter followers, and even more face book followers. A wonderful family who supports him with unconditional love. He is respected and admired worldwide.

I would say the Universe is embracing our beautiful star, in all of his glory. I feel the best is yet to come. I say, "Hold On Now", to quote Adam's song. Can't wait for Glee on November 7th. Take a deep breath people; the crazy train is ready to roll!

Adam would laugh so hard if he were to read this thread.
