JAK here....OT...there are 2 metal horse sculptures in an empty field not so far from my house. One has the head down as if grazing, the other has his head close to the fence as though watching the cars go by. So many people stop for a close up look the owner says he has to polish the horse's nose frequently because of people "petting it".
..........I call them Trigger and Champion.
For you young guys they were the names of Roy Rogers and Gene Autry's horses.
..........for you REALLY young guys Roy and Gene were movie cowboy stars!......sigh.....I'm so old!

I love Adam, too. I love that he knows how to have fun and laugh at himself. He makes me laugh. That's a beautiful trait in anyone. He's my idol, he's my role model.

He IS the most beautiful goof ball on the planet!

OT
Sauli and Nea came in first again at Finlands DOI. They were great, and Sauli is fantastic for only skating for 5 weeks. He said he and Adam talk almost daily, I bet Adam must be really proud of him.

For some reason, hearing that Adam and Sauli talk almost every day makes me ridiculously happy. They're both sweeties & hotties.

I remember Roy and Trigger, but had forgotten the name of Gene's horse. I live near Portsmouth Ohio, they still have Roy Rogers Festivals. Roy was an Ohio boy, Leonard Slye.
Good old times to remember, though I was very very young.
: ))))))))) I wonder what happened to Trigger? I know Roy had him stuffed and he was in a museum in CA. lol

I wish I could let myself go and do all the goofy fun stuff Adam does. He is a wonderful role model never afraid to make a fool of himself. Adam knows how to live life to the fullest. He spreads joy and happiness everywhere he goes!

JAK you forgot to mention that Roy and Gene were "singing cowboys." Yup, I'm old too!

I lived in SoCal when Trigger died and Roy had him stuffed and on display in the Roy Rogers museum. I wondered at the time if Dale Evans (Roy's wife and movie co-star) prayed she wouldn't die before Roy did.

Gene Autry went on to own the California Angels Baseball team. The Angels played their games in Dodger Stadium in LA until their own Stadium was built in Anaheim.

Most of their movies were filmed at the Corrigan Ranch just north of Los Angeles. The Ranch was owned by Crash Corrigan, an earlier and much less beloved cowboy movie star.

So, now you know that I was actually there to see the dinosaurs fall into the LaBrea Tar Pits that later become a fossilized tourist attraction.

oldie goodie

Hooray....a compatriot!!! Come on over and let's talk Esther Williams, Howard Keel, William Holden and Jane Russell !

I was a great fan of Roy's as a 10 year old living at the time in Texas.....brown cowboy boots for school and play, white ones for church. I used to ride daily on a dainty chestnut mare named Babe.

Happy Trails..........JAK : ))
