so .. friendly question
what i should use when i refer to drag ? he or she ?

"She" works well.
And that's Mike Ruiz, photographer, on the left.

9:12, yes, that is RuPaul in the middle.

Anonymous said...

9:45, great question. When the person is in drag you use female prepositions like she and her.

Anonymous said...

Now, that is statuesque !........JAK

Has there ever been made a documentary of RuPaul???
I'd love to see it, he/she's been around quite some time and always looks fantastic!

Oh yes, he is tall and the wig is big but please explain, what is the point of applying tons of makeup so that one's face looks exactly like any other drag queen's face?

What is there to see that I can't see?

Nothing.

12:32 i dont know if he has a documentary jsut about him but there was a videographer in NYC back in the day by the name of Nelson Sullivan that filmed every bit of his life in the big city. He was heavily involved in the club scene when RuPaul was up and coming in the clubs. Ru appears in a few of his videos as do all of the original NYC club kids. Fascinating stuff. I used to have alot of the videos on VHS but as technology changes I seem to have the tapes but no VCR.

For anyone really interested the link is below.

Actually I found a gem on youtube! This is fabulous!

Nelson Sullivan films Rupaul after a night of go-go dancing in 1988.

Somebody should develop a show for Adam or put him on the panel of one of the talk shows as a guest host. The Talk and The View both have had male guest co-hosts and I am sure that Adam would do an excellent job. He is articulate, personable and very witty. And he is not bad to look at either.

I don't understand why so many fans want Adam to spend so much time on TV.
He was born to sing, yes these little cut aways are very good for him, but I say let him SING.
I want music, tours, music videos.
Hope I'm not asking for too much.

Because his singing hasn't made him popular enough (for some) and they hope that people who see him on telly will be as charmed by his looks as they are themselves.

That's why.

7:28, 8:21 is right. People are not rushing out to buy Adam's music. We hard-core fans are, but not the public at large. Adam needs lots of exposure where the general public will get to know him and realize how likable and talented he is. Then they will be more likely to buy his new music. We all associate songs with the person who sings them. New fans need to associate Adam's music with the singer who they already know and like. Getting TV time also shows that "the media" thinks that you are relevant enough to be on a program. The more TV, the better.

He needs to be heard on the radio more than be seen on TV, but TV is great too.

Anonymous said...

Maybe some should stop worrying about Adam not achieving the level of success they want for Adam and let Adam run his own career.

Anonymous said...

People don't rush out to buy music they never hear,

Anonymous said...

i hope he stop chasing little Opportunities here and there Instead of focusing on his own music .. hurry up

Just reminding you that the younger generation no longer buys any music. Still, they are the main target group for the music industry.

Young people listen to YT or download music from several sources free of charge. And I can assure you that not that many of them watch Glee or RuPaul's drag shows. Or listen to Queen.

Collaboration with the famous djs like Avicii might be the thing for Adam and I really hope that is why he went to Sweden.

Anonymous said...

9:16, you'd be wrong about that. Lots of young people still listen to radio, especially in the car and they are the majority of Glee's audience.

Anonymous said...

From going on you tube and fan web sites I'd say glee has many young followers.

Anonymous said...

RuPaul has another demographic altogether that I would not mind seeing Adam on their radar.

Queen is timeless. I hope we soon if a tour is in the horizon.

I think Adam is VERY VERY wise to take whatever opportunities he has come his way in TV and music. GLEE gives him massive exposure even though it is not as popular as it once was. I've had people tell me they saw him on Glee and they thought he was fantastic. Many young people watch Glee (as do other age groups..). And he's attracted a number of new fans as a result. I suspect these next few episodes of Glee will win him even more new fans. It's all about exposure.

Same with the potential Queen concerts this year. I would really hope that the media would pick up on the fact that Queen are touring (assuming they do) and that Adam is the front man.. Some TV interviews would be nice.. some magazine articles in People, etc.. etc.. Hoping for some really nice things for Adam to come out of it.. So that when Adam has his own new music come out, people will be interested in hearing it.. And radio will pick up on that interest. Because the reality of it is, radio wants to play music that people are interested in. It's money in their pockets... And we know that money speaks in radio....

Adam has the potential to be "rediscovered" by the masses this year. Every little bit helps in the whole scheme of things. The new music will certainly come. He's working on it from the looks of things. Other artists work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage to pull it off. I certainly expect to see some new music this year, sooner or later. And I'm HOPING to to see Adam debut a new single on Idol toward the end of the season this spring. Perfect for him, perfect for us too. :))) Because like everyone else here, I'm DYING to hear what's next for him, musically AND otherwise.. So exciting!

As Adam said earlier "Intense forward motion" in 2014. I have no doubt he meant it...

glitzy, I agree with all you said. Any TV Adam can get will open people's eyes to him. Their interest could spill over into sales of Adam's new music and more radio play. Radio likes to play the music of people who create a buzz. Glee has created a buzz for Adam, and the Queen tour (please, God) will, too. His chances are much greater with his name and face out there in a positive way for all to see. Yes, he needs to be rediscovered in a new and fresh way.

Mike Ruiz is one fine lookin' man. Also love how RuPaul can look so gorgeous when she is in drag. And that third guy is kinda cute too! . . . Adamluv

BTW - also agree that these opportunities for Adam to be seen on TV and at events are well worth his time. . . . Adamluv

I want it ALL for Adam..clothing line, jewelry line, sunglasses line, major radio play, TV, movies, endorcements, etc..all things that will bring him success and financial security..also, LOVE interest..

Glitzylady- I like the phrase you used that Adam needs to be "rediscovered" by the masses this year. If you are not a Glambert and following his career esp with information and pics on this blogsite, then you probably think he has disappeared from the music scene. Appearing on shows like Glee, Idol and Ru Paul's show let people know he is very much busy engaging in various projects. We all hope that new music will come some time this year and that a larger audience will be anxious to hear it. I know I am.
