Never been in a since of a earthquake. Here in North Dakota we get terrible snow storms, floods, and tornadoes.

JAK here.....I think sometimes we forget we are aboard a living planet. There's as much going on under Earth's surface as on top. Volcanoes and earthquakes under the oceans too. In Florida we have an occasional tornado, but not the 'giant swallow up everything in their path' ones like I experienced as a child living in Oklahoma.......

Our main dread here is that a hurricane that forms off the coast of Africa will scurry across the Atlantic and hit us on the east or west coast. I've lived here long enough to take comfort from the fact they don't surprise you like a tornado or earthquake. We get every hour reports on where it is and where it's heading. If we get scared we can gather up the family and be in Ohio with relatives in 2-3 hours!

Washington state had a tragic mudslide with fatalities just days ago and now CA had an earthquake. The west coast is shaking things up.

JAK, I live in Washington and the mudslide is still major news here. The total number killed may not be known for weeks as they continue to search. It is tragic and heartbreaking.

I saw the film of the little boy rescued from the mud, it was terrifying to think he could have been buried alive. I feel so sorry for the families.......JAK

I wish everyone in harms way worldwide safety and no loss of loved ones, homes, property, pets, etc. Japan, NZ, Washington and so many countries have suffered so much pain and loss especially in the last four years. Wars and now threats in the Ukraine have also created so much suffering. Adam has very devoted fans there that I worry about, especially one Glambert that I haven't heard from since the uprising and subsequent take over of Crimea by Russia. With so many Glamberts all over the world, it becomes even more personal and worrisome.

Wish more people here had your wisdom, empathy and emotional intelligence (e.g. the poster @8:31 above you); I share your thoughts. But also feel such a connection with like minded people getting in touch on blogs like this and sharing the Adam love!
Take care, @funbunn40!
