Video from last year but still relevant!

VIA Queen Collectables:

This is the first feature on this channel and is a series of interviews conducted at the Hammersmith Labatts Apollo, London in July 2012. The interviews were filmed outside the venue over the three concerts given by Queen + Adam Lambert with various fans who attended these gigs. They give their opinions of the current incarnation of Queen with singer Adam Lambert and what they think of the live shows.

Just like a real concert. The noise level is so loud I can't understand what people are saying. lol

They all are Queen fans and they enjoyed the past concerts in England with Adam being part of the band back in 2012.

Kind of a skewed audience though. The ones who think Queen should have stopped when Freddie died won't even come to a concert.

Still nice they include one guy who did not really appreciate Adam (Sean) and one person who preferred Paul Rodgers... and some of the showed that they were sceptical of Adam.. so not totally skewed audience... Axel

LOL, it's a skewed audience if a segment of fans won't even come. This audience was at least willing to give it a try if not already on board.

Why discuss (here or in general) of people who can't deal with the remaining members of the Queen wanting to live on and do what they love... Life / Show must go on!

5:50 PM -- Like the last guy realized, 'resistance is futile'!!
Can't wait for this show!!!

This video was posted on Brian May Official and Queen Official today on Facebook. Take it for what it's worth... And remember what Brian May said recently, paraphrased by me: If you don't want to hear us or come to our concerts with Adam Lambert..then "Thank you and goodbye..".. Brian isn't worried about the fans who don't wish to come. It's up to them.. But for the ones who do buy those tickets, it's nice to know that Adam impressed a good percentage of the people who were there in 2012, and at iHeart in 2013, and will most likely be impressing more this summer..

I remember when they did the concerts in 2012. There were so many Queen fans who were leery of "this Adam Lambert guy, this American Idol guy'. So much concern about how it would go, and how Adam would be received, particularly in London, the home of Queen.. There were of course fans who refused to go, for various reasons, and that was their choice. But some of the fans who have loved Queen, and loved Freddie, from way back in the day, who bought tickets to this concert, or more than one in some cases, were willing to give Adam a fair chance, which was great, and it seems like the majority who were interviewed thought he did a good job...all the way to a "fantastic job". It was clear by seeing and listening to the vids from the various venues in 2012 that Adam proved himself to a whole lotta people.

I just personally think its nice to hear the positive comments about Adam... It doesn't have to be a big argument here. Just another little happy reminder that Adam is pretty darn awesome... And will most likely win over some other Queen fans here in North America. Probably a lot actually...

Just a personal note: I have a friend who is a Queen fan, and a casual Adam Lambert fan. We talk once in awhile, but aren't close friends necessarily, but we keep in touch. She isn't someone who has ever attended an Adam Lambert concert. But the news that he and Queen will be performing in a venue within driving distance of her home (in this case the venue is Vancouver BC) encouraged her to buy tickets. She and her sister will be there in June.. She let me know today, completely out of the blue!!.. I didn't even have to let her know :)))

I'm just so excited for Adam... so if you have time to listen to this vid, enjoy...

How does anyone know if there were actually Queens fans who did not come because of Adam. I don't believe it. If so; it was very, very few. Unless I get concrete evidence; I don't believe it. How do we know that people aren't just making this up. Negatives are hard to prove; just some random people behind computers who may not be Queen fans at all. Might be someone or a few who just do not like Adam.

Who cares of some don't come; leaves plenty of room for those who want to!
Let's just concentrate on the positive and forget about the negative. No one is going to spoil the party for fans of Adam or Queen!!

So Happy for Adam; I'm going to put on my Red Shoes and dance!!!

No such thing as a skewed audience; that's a made up myth. Can never be proven and silly on it's face.

Those die-hards who can't bear to accept Adam at all must feel that they would be disrespecting Freddie's memory if they even hinted that they might think Adam was ok. It hurts their sensibilities and their loyalty to Freddie. My heart is very connected to Adam, so I guess I can understand how they fell to a degree. But, as Brian says, you have to play for the people who want to hear you. Maybe some of the those hard-core resisters will come around in time. Loyalties are wonderful but they can be very confining. Hope Adam gets some new fans this summer.

Lmao you obviously don't understand the point at all.

7:20 pm, some long time and well known members of Queen fan clubs said they wouldn't go. Same way as some Adam fans are well known to us, some Queen fans are well known in their group. They've had decades to be vocal about their opinion of going on without Freddie.

I want to break free from all this nonsense & just enjoy the MUSIC!!

@8:45
Just let those guys have their opinions and be where they are! No need to bring them here, cause obviously they are stuck in a world that does not exist anymore (except in their minds, they are Freddie's fans ad infinitum).

Their loyalty for Freddie should not cause them to blurt out hurtful things towards Brian & Roger living on and playing Queen music with whoever they want. The opinions of these 'Freddie Forever Fans' are the same with or without Adam.

Don't knock Freddie Forever Fans. We'd be the same if it were Adam instead of Freddie ..... Adam Forever Fans.

I wonder how much money Adam will make on the tour?

Anonymous said...

Q & A . . yes the show must go on!

Anonymous said...

4:34, Yes, you're right. Their hate is not directed at Adam personally (although they try to make it sound like that). It's about the whole concept that ANYONE would "dare" to sing Freddie's songs. They are so protective of Freddie's memory and legacy that nothing else will ever be acceptable to them. They want the music to die with Freddie.

4:34 am, I didn't "bring" Freddie fans here, I was answering somebody's question about how we know that opinion exists. The Freddie fans had been mention by others before me as well.

Then you go on to write another paragraph about the people you don't want to hear from. Whatever.
