Elliot is appealing because there's so much similarity with Adam, who is as much a sweetheart as the character. We need a clone of Adam so we don't have to mourn every time he has to go to wherever he is wanted. Adam, never leave us, you hear? Automatic Fan (pronounced ADAMADDICT)

Adam I really enjoy you acting on Glee. Hope to see more of you.

1:43pm ... I agree! So smart of the writers to keep the character close to Adam's real personality.

But that doesn't mean Adam wasn't acting. Portraying someone else's life and making it look natural in front of a camera is not easy.

When I saw Rockstar performance on TV for one brief second I took my eyes off Adam when I saw a familiar haircut! My brain had a jolt. The blond guitarist has the spiky scrambled egg Rod Stewart hair! Deja vu .

@3:32 PM Just so no one reports that Levine is front man for Queen. !

Following is a question to Keith Urban and his answer:

What kind of advice would he give the winner on how to move forward?

“For me, it’s the same advice across the board. It’s the same advice for the person who came 8th. It’s for the person who goes home tonight. It’s what you do with this going forward now, that’s going to make it either work or not work. Winning Idol doesn’t automatically catapult you into the stratosphere. You have to then set about finding the songs, and making the record, then you’ve got to go out and do interviews. You’ve got to do the work. It can get you to the front of the line a litt[b]le quicker, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen right away. It’s been interesting with this show over the years that we’ve seen just as much success come from the non-winners as the winners. That’s also testament to the people the judges have chosen over the years–the Chris Daughtrys and the Adam Lamberts and the Jennifer Hudsons etc, who have gone on to have exceptional careers. It’s really what you make of it after the fact.”

Love the Pakistani barber shop! So cool that Adam is seen world wide. Glee was so much fun for all of us. Elliot needs to pay Glee a visit on a regular basis.

Somehow I don't think Levine would fit Brian and Roger's requirements. They've got the best person for the job right now.

Just re-read Adam's Wiki after a long time of not checking it out. I have a question about it. It states that Adam was the first American Idol alum to solo tour in support of this debut album. I thought he was the ONLY AI alum to do that, not just the first. Who else has done that, if anyone? Adam GNT tour was both U.S. and international, too. Just wondering.

I really did enjoy Adam's character of Elliott on Glee. He just fit in so well with the rest of the cast. Adam/Elliott was warm, friendly, and very appealing. The musical numbers he performed were amazing and I so looked forward to seeing him on Glee as much as I did waiting to watch him on Idol each week. I think the door was left open for Elliott to reappear next season and I hope Ryan Murphy includes Adam in several of the scripts for the last season of the show which will focus on the characters in NYC. Hopefully appearing on Glee will offer other acting opportunities for Adam on tv. There are just so many of those half hour comedies/series or drama programs where a role could be developed for him in the future.

Anonymous said...

7:18, maybe it is incorrect because David Cook also did a solo tour.

I'm hoping for Adam's dream of doing a musical film, possibly Jesus Christ Superstar.

What is going on with this site? I just caught up after a couple of days away and I can't believe what I read. Why are explicit sexual comments allowed here?

Anonymous said...

@8:37PM Please scroll to ignore those comments and celebrate all the good things that are happening for Rockstar Adam Mitchell Lambert. Unfortunately those things come within the territory of famous artists. Dare you to check out Rihanna's or Madonna's IG comment section. You definitely won't stand it.

9:09, this isn't an IG comment section. This is a fan site for Adam and those comments can and should be deleted. I don't want to read crap like that here. Totally inappropriate and should be deleted.

I just checked the comments on the YouTube of Rock Star and several of them said that they hadn't been an Adam fan but now they are! So new Glamberts to join our club - Yay! All good for Adam!

Come back to Glee, Adam, when you have time! I loved your acting and your vocals were killer in every song. You sure set the bar up soooo high for the other cast members and that's a good thing...makes them meet the challenge and become more confident themselves. Adam is as inspiration :)

8:21, The Idol peeps (and I think RCA)say that Adam was the first alum to solo tour in support of his debut album. Has anyone from Idol done it since Adam? I thought Adam was still the only one, before or after him. If Cooke did it, then the Idol people and RCA are wrong. I'm in a "debate" with a friend about this. That's why I ask.

I still watch GNT Bluray DVD on my computer. Wish there was one for his WAG Tour. I have some of his performances of WAG and Queenbert. But to have it as a whole on DVD, done professionally with sound and videography, is something else.

Anonymous said...

@DRG. It should say solo international tour. I assume RCA considers solo tour instead when it's successful worldwide. That's why the international word isn't included.

David cook and Taylor hicks both had long and successful solo tours for their debut albums. Phil Phillips did many headlining shows and is now doing a headling tour in Canada. It's just a matter of strategy if you chose to open or headline. Many would say Phil Phillips opening for a big tour like John mayer is a smarter way to grow your audience than doing smaller headlining shows where you only play to fans.

Anonymous said...

I didn't see from the show how they plan on Elliott's exit. How are they going to explain his non-existence after this episode. Can't leave us hanging.

Anonymous said...

My friend says that Phil soloed a tour in support of his debut album, but I guess technically he did not? Kind of a fine line. I know he's been opening for John Mayer, which is a nice gig to get. But he did not solo tour U.S.-wide in support of his debut album, apparently. Wise decision or not, Adam came out guns blazing with a completely solo tour both nationally and internationally. No other Idol has done that. I think it's a major major feat.

Thanks for the info!

justpeachy, Glee left the Elliot character kind of hanging so that there is a chance for him to come back now and then. At least we hope so. That's why he hasn't been given an "exit."

DRG,
if you read David Cook's wiki page it says "On January 23, 2009, Cook announced he would be embarking on his first headline national tour, the Declaration tour.[49]". "The tour however was extended twice – the first time through May 31, 2009, and then again starting from June 18, 2009 in Del Mar, CA and finally ending December 1, 2009 in Charlotte, NC after a total 153 shows."
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Cook_(singer)
The wiki page for that tour it says "Declaration Tour is the first solo headline tour of the American rock singer-songwriter[1] David Cook, who rose to fame after winning the seventh season of the reality television show American Idol. There were 152 shows in this tour, not including an extra show in Manila in the Philippines, a record for an Idol debut tour."
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Declaration_Tour_-_2009

Seems like Cook did more shows but only one was international.

I don't know if you'll come back to this thread at this point, but it is sort of this funny running theme with Glee in regard to how they leave the presence and absence of certain characters utterly unaddressed! The Sue character actually made a very funny & direct reference to just that a few episodes ago! So, for any serious Gleek, it is really just "same old same old" to have a character's absence unexplained. :) On a personal level, I feel the Elliot character worked very well this season and was very compelling, I hope we see Elliot once or twice next season.

10:57, Thanks so much for the info. I was going to check Wiki myself for David, but you beat me to it. I appreciate it. There are a few Idols who have survived the first few years off the shows and are doing well. It does seem like Adam has one of the stronger international followings. I love that about him.

Thanks again for help.

Wow, David did significantly more shows than Adam. Guess Adam isn't the only one with a successful headlining tour straight off Idol.

Anonymous said...

Yes, David did very well right off Idol, too. I don't know if he toured internationally then, but he sure did lots of shows in the U.S. I like David, but I don't really follow him. He's seems like a good guy. I wonder how he's doing now? I think he went through a label change, too.

Anonymous said...

Why so much about David? Doesn't he have his own fan site... lol.

Stop pussyfooting around the truth, Adam's the ONLY one from Idol who has true international superstar appeal and a huge following!

Anonymous said...

3:54 PM, because somebody asked if Adam was the only one to headline a tour after Idol.

Also, Kelly has a huge international appeal as do some others. It is stupid to argue about who is the best! and who is the biggest star!

Anonymous said...

10:04
First of all the same subject has been discussed here and not so long ago.

It was not about who is the best (although imo Adam is hands down!), but who is the only Idol to do a solo tour straight after Idol.

My comment was that Adam is the only one to do a domestic and international tour straight after Idol AND he is the only Idol with REAL international Super Star appeal.

Not taking anything away from Kelly, Carrie, David or Chris talentwise but they are known/successful outside US only in certain countries where country music, country/rock/pop is popular. Most of the Idols have only domestic (US country music) appeal, PP included.

Only Adam has the TRUE international appeal. Not talking about record sakes here, but that he is known, his voice, style, looks, everything about him has "INTERNATIONAL SUPER STAR" quality and he has had fans all over the world for years already. Trust me country music performers are NOT huge in so many countries outside US.

Adam with his multitalents and the VARIETY to sing WHATEVER has the most chances of becoming even more widely known & celebrated internationally - the huge demand of Queen+Adam concerts shows that, too!

One more thing - THIS is an ADAM LAMBERT fan site, HERE it should be totally okay to say that ADAM IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!! That's not argueing, that's not putting anyone else down, that's just being a proud fan of the best singer/performer there is on a fan site of his!!!
(If I liked someone else better or more I would go to their fan site to praise them).

Anonymous said...

12:11 am, technically Cook's show was international and he did FORTY more shows in his tour.

You also ingnore the huge international appeal other idols like Sanchez and Archuleta have.

Convenient that you don't want to count record sales. Let's just go by your gut feeling on this.

Keep putting down the HUGE US and international success of Clarkson and Underwood so you can declare your Idol the best evah !11!

Anonymous said...

1:29
I was NOT putting down anybody, merely saying that truly worldwide INTERNATIONALLY appealing (meaning having that certain "limitless" look & sound, not country/language area/culture specific) the people you keep mentioning ARE NOT!

Adam is as a person and as a performing artist in so many ways so unique in Idol history and although he always favorably comments on Idol and gladly participates and perform in that show, he has in so many moved on from those days and the image the show has.

And of course I think Adam is the best, I am a true Adam fan on an Adam fan site. Who are you fan of and what are you doing here?

Since you obviously are not an Adam fan, are so hung up on American Idol and all it's (mostly wgwg) stars, maybe you would have more fun on Am Idol Fan Site? Just a friendly suggestion.

Anonymous said...

I asked the initial question because I was having a discussion with my friend about the correctness of the often-printed statement that Adam was the first (and possibly only) Idol to do a solo tour in support of his debut album. Apparently, this is not technically true. Adam apparently did more international dates on his debut tour, but not as many dates over-all. It was just an informational question. BTW, my friend likes Adam, so we weren't having a love/hate argument about Adam or anything. A few Idols do have international fanbases. I think Adam's is quite a strong one. We all wish Adam had bigger sales in the U.S. He certainly has the talent. The Idol experience is a strange one. That instant rise to fame can be strong but brief for many, but others are able to sustain it. I think Adam will be around for the long haul in some capacity, even if it's not as a perpetual pop star. Let's see how some of the others survive after a few years go by. It's a brutal business.

Thanks for the info, everyone! I think Wiki could use a little editing.

US isn't no. 1 music market sales in the world. Asia and Europe are ahead of US music market. If you notice most well to do popular artists are from outside of US. In order for an artist to be popular worldwide, one has to make it into Asia and European market and then US. US music market is mostly dominated by country music.
