I love the love Rickey Minor shows towards Adam.

Just to be clear, Rickey has four favorite performances.

Yes, but we're talking about Adam specifically in this case. :)))

I loved Rick's comment about Adam and so spot on, " he was so wanting to communicate" and he still does! That really brought a smile to my face....that's our Adam :)))

I'm sure this is very flattering for Adam and gratifying for many of us to see confirmed by an Idol insider once again what we all know. Adam definitely "has it all" - more than any other contestant mentioned from my point of view - and still, we all know that it takes a lot of luck and certain stars to align to make it to the superstar level. The tour with Queen seems to be one of those perfect scenarios. I also have the feeling that Adam's management has done a very good job so far. Now, bring on your new music Adam, and knock them all dead!

I always wonder if Carrie Underwood has to work quite as hard given her nice looks and very popular "country girl vibe". She sure seems easily marketable.

If Carrie Underwood won Idol today instead of at the beginning, I would think it would be a lot harder to get her career off the ground. I say that because of all the voice contests available now and Idol has grown long in the tooth.

9:12, Just didn't want to see fans telling others that Adam was Rickey's favorite only to be corrected that Rickey mentioned several others.

This Ricky Minor mention brings me back to one unmistakably brilliant aspect of Adam's approach to his career... his understanding that building relationships (not just contacts but relationships) is key... and burning bridges is counterpoint to one's own career path (he's made a few public missteps by way of inflammatory comments sure, but no huge public bridge burning incidents). Adam's brains and business acumen are so attractive. I always adore reading stuff like this because it reminds me of his good sense and his intelligence in successfully building professional relationships. Smexy.

JAK here.....The full interview with Ricky was very interesting, thanks for bringing our attention to it. It's certainly true that a singer has to have more than an exceptional voice to be successful.

That's a great article. Read the whole interview with Ricky.

I agree that a singer has to have more than an exceptional voice to be successful. That's why I think that the three finalists on this season's Idol won't necessarily, no matter who the winner is, will be very successful in today's music world. They just seem to be lackluster and don't have much of a stage presence, but you never know. Look at Philip Phillips. He was really not very interesting as a performer, but he seems to have grown and feels more comfortable with his successful singles and album and a second one just released. Maybe once a larger audience gets to see Adam performing with Queen this summer, there will be lots of new fans clamoring for his music and the next album.

@11:08 AM

I'm curious, what public missteps do you feel that Adam has made, in the way of inflamatory comments? Could you or someone please answer? I would really like to know what someone feels was inflamatory commentss coming from Adam Lambeert. Thanks, so much in advance for an answer!

This is not the first time that Rickey Minor has spoken highly of Adam.

I remember Adam always was gracious enough to thank Rickey and the guys and ladies. Quite an endearing trait; pretty sure they appreciated it. I think it was a very mutual respect they had/have for each other! Adam is never one for burning bridges of those that have been kind to him. Also, he is just a very good and wonderful human being.

Quiet as it kept, I do think Adam Lambert was Rickey Minor's favorite on Season 8! He eventually left Idol to become Jay Leno's Band leader; and key part of the show until Jay left.

Adam appears to have exceptionally good manners.
Obviously he was raised well. An admirable quality and frequently scarce in today's world....JAK

' spoken like a true old timer'....

JAK here...One of the things that puzzled me in my early days of Adam fandom...was why he had extra fabric sewed to his sleeves to fall down over half his hand. Still have no idea why. He does not have unusually long arms, the jackets he wore had sleeves that were long enough, but there were those added inches.

It's quite noticeable in this Mad World photo.....it remains a puzzle. I'm glad he's over that particular fashion fetish.
