Yayyyy!! I am there opening night in Chicago! Road trip!! I will report back here when I get home on Saturday and tell you what my experience was!!! SO excited!!!! Cheri:)
I prefer the words...Calm down! than Keep calm! Calm down would mean the person got to the peak of excitement and can barely control herself and therefore needs to calm down to replenish energy and go again. lol! So 'Don't keep calm' is absolutely correct based on my theory. lol! Hey Calm down if you need to, just about now after reading my theory. lol!
Should be...'prefer to' not 'than'. Need to calm down. lol! Oki-dok, replenish myself with a hot cuppa coffee and 3 slices crispy toast, my breakfast time...Good morning everyone! Today is a good day, today. With accent: To die is a good die, to die. lol!
I personally prefer the original 1939 meaning of the British poster. No matter the chaos around you-Keep Calm and Carry on. Calm down has a completely different meaning and has no historical significance at all. If one is making a play on words - then one needs to use the proper words.
Thanks Cheri: will really appreciate your account of the wonderful time I just know you are going to have. Have a great time! So excited to hear all about your exciting adventure with Queen & Adam! Opening night should be a blast!!

Of course there's no historic meaning to Calm down...I simply use it on this site to calm my opponents who seem so worked up over trivialities. lol!
