Despite the fact that this critic from Connecticut's Record-Journal is reviewing not the Mohegan Sun show from last Friday but the first one a full 10 days ago — but just publishing today — it's a (mostly) positive piece and worth a look.
"...May and Taylor may have found the right fit for the band with...Adam Lambert..."

Yes indeed, the right fit and much more than just a fit! They found Freddie all over again! Aren't they just plain lucky...to be able to experience their beloved Freddie with such close proximity to the original, with no copying! Not too many get a chance to relive their life story, you know. It's some kind of symbiosis; both sides, Adam as well as Queen get the full benefit through QueenBert; like the cliché, a match made in heaven; perhaps it's more than a cliché, these three maestros are bound to meet one another because like Brian says, Adam is like them, love to innovate or repackage or simply be creative. Brian reiterates: Adam is never an imitator. That to me is Adam's trump-card...I love originality, it spurs me...don't care much for downright copying, it's stifling.
Brian May & Roger Taylor have said that artists singing their music in the past were limited and Adam is more suited, due to his power and massive vocal range to perform Queen songs. I can't think of anyone that can embody the spirit of Freddie and Queen's music like Adam. He's the whole package working that stage with passion and flamboyance, just what is required and then some! Queen and Adam were meant to be, a magnificent pairing of unlimited talent.
I would hate for it to stop, and this be the final tour. This may be what Adam is supposed to be doing with his career, and not being a solo artist, at least for a while. He has never performed better, than he has on this tour. It has brought out the very best of his talent. I have never seen him sing any better, he just seems to fit right into the whole atmosphere of Queen, and he seems so happy doing it.
He knows he is with great musicians, and he absolutely doesn't want to disappoint them.
They really love him and his charisma and of course his voice.
I don't like saying this, but to me it will be a let down, to see him perform with his band. He will be great, but now we have seen how he is with better musicians. I know there are better musicians out there, who can make that guitar sing like Brian does. We have a guitar player in my church, who can make the instrument sing like that, so I know Adam could audition for one. Tommy could stay as more of a backup.
