It’s LGBT History Month and Adam Lambert
has joined forces with AT&T for their Live Proud Finale event on
October 13. The event marks the culmination of the “Live Proud”
campaign, in which fans and members of the LGBT community were
encouraged to create memes related to their personal Live Proud moments.
As the Finale event draws near, AT&T has just announced another campaign to celebrate LGBT History Month, called “Making Your Mark.”
Through social sharing, this campaign acknowledges the importance of recognizing and celebrating the locations that have empowered LGBT individuals (and those who support the community) to live freely and happily – thus elevating the community as a whole.
It is thanks to celebrities like out-and-proud Adam that have given strength to the LGBT movement. He has used social media via Twitter to support the LGBT community, and now AT&T has provided his fans a fun opportunity to do the same. Think about the location that empowered you to live freely and happily. You are invited to check-in to your unique “Making Your Mark” locations via your social media channels – including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google+ – with the hashtag #MakingYourMark.
Whether it be the location where you first came out, met the person you love today, or first interacted with the LGBT community, your personal LGBT milestone locations have helped shape the person you are today. For some, being Adam’s fan was an introduction to the LGBT community. Maybe your LGBT milestone location was watching him on American Idol, seeing him in concert for the first time, watching his “It Gets Better” video, or seeing him perform at a Gay Pride event.
From October 1 through October 31, you can take part in this inspiring campaign in several ways. First, check-in at your personal LGBT milestone location using the hashtag #MakingYourMark, and share via your social media channels - including Facebook and Twitter. Be sure to include a unique description in your check-in that expresses why this represents your personal LGBT milestone location. Finally, share the official campaign webpage with followers on social media.

Well, I got to become more aware of the LGBT group, following Adam for 6 years. So, October is LGBT month; that's rather invigorating for these people and others to join in the celebrations of concerts, auctions, music, art. After all it is said LGBT people are very creative and talented...perhaps due to their inherent duo female/male, yin-yang nature, perspective, insight.
The Live Proud Adam picture is rather invoking, like a call to everyone to play their part; my emphasis is on everyone not just the LGBT people; it is only then that LGBT people can become immersed as part of the whole. Adam is a very strong face and certainly a booming voice for his LGBT people. A natural leader, just doing his part with his utmost strength for the good of all!
Happy LGBT Month!
LGBT people are creative and fun
Give them a chance and they outrun anyone
They're mostly talented, musical, witty
Could be their natural gift or even a kind of self-defence
To fend off ridicule or inapt comments
Looking at Adam, straight or gay
To him it really doesn't matter
Like he always says: Be who you are
With no apologies for what is natural hence
