Adam did the same exact thing with the Details photo shoot in 2009, pandering to straight women. He's such a hypocrite.

Oops! Double post. Sorry. But as long as I'm here again, I'll just say that I really don't think this is "pandering" on either side: straight to gay or gay ro straight. I just think it's marketing, plain and simple. Sometimes it's done well, sometimes not, whether it's being done by Adam or Joe Jonas or whoever. But it's no crime; it's just a strategy.

Explain how what Nick Jonas did with the Out Magazine shoot is any different then what Adam did with the Details shoot. That's what makes Adam a hypocrite.

First-I read all the comments here whether I agree with them or not--even Adam opens himself up to discussion on his Twitter. Only those which are hate speech I ignore. Second-I have to agree with Anon 7:28 about the Details photo shoot. That being said, I think he was encouraged to do it by his handlers to offset the AMA gay kiss. Remember when he used to say he was "bi-curious" in the beginning? I think he is now his own spokesperson and is more savvy.

7:28 am, i'm just guessing but maybe one pic in a magazine where Adam was fully clothed is a little different than Joe stripping in gay clubs as well as doing the underwear grabbing pics in a magazine.

I tend to think it is all marketing and maybe it's a sign of progress that a straight male is doing it now too to an audience he wouldn't have 5 years ago.

I would say Adam's tweet was maniputulated to create a headline. He just wanted to hear people's opinions' IMO

OMG , if Adam did what Nick Jonas did (correct way to do a crotch grab), he would be crucified, and we all know it.

Remember that picture of Adam with his hand down his pants? That was out there on the Internet to be seen. He survived it. Nevertheless I would prefer a picture of a fully clothed Adam Lambert to a naked Adam Levine or crotch grabbing Jonas any day. And yes, it is all marketing.

Adam's latest tweet was commenting on the fact that the article's headline, "Adam Lambert Is Tired Of Straight Pop Stars Baiting Gay Fans. Are You?", posted in the thread topic, (and perhaps others, that we, or at least I, may not be aware of), didn't reflect what he actually asked and then stated in his other tweets.

He didn't say he was "tired of straight pop stars baiting gay fans", as the headline declared. He WAS curious about what others opinions are on that subject, and asked his twitter followers what their take on it is. Contrary to some *opinions*, not all of his fans/followers are straight middle aged females, and he got plenty of responses from his gay male fans as well.

He's obviously seen, just like we have, the media speculations/hype about Nick Jonas' photo shoot.. (which admittedly caused my eyebrows to raise just a bit... not that I care, but I was under the impression he was a bit more conservative than that..but then I don't follow his career closely, TBH) and the intent. I just initially thought he was being kind of *naughty/sexy* for his fans: straight females, gay males, whatever... And as everyone has said, Adam would be crucified if he ever did that.. which knowing him, will never happen.. (He doesn't have to take his clothes off to be sexy, IMHO...yeah, I'm a straight female and I find Adam to be VERY attractive/sexy..period.., but that's another topic :))) and I digress. It happens...).

Adam indicated he ultimately doesn't care what the person's sexuality/orientation is..but was musing on the possible reasons behind the blurring of lines, the "crossover" and perhaps the "openly" reaching out of straight male singers to the gay community, which is something we may not have seen before. But we HAVE seen this in the case of female pop stars.. Which is what Adam has discussed previously, the "double standard" that has existed until recently in music, but is **perhaps** changing, along with the times...

And (my thoughts here...) he may have been talking about the MEDIA speculations about whether a pop star (for instance Nick Jonas) is gay, straight, or bi-curious..and not just the straight male purposely creating the question of his own sexuality himself, although it has DEFINITELY gotten a lot of media attention.

So the question remains re the Nick Jonas pics, actions: Is it purely hype to get media attention (which is obviously working) to sell the new music, is it reaching out to the Gay community (as Adam put it, perhaps "pandering"?) for the same reason, or is it, as Adam asked, *progress* in the quest toward the acceptance of all sexualities, without definite lines that cannot be crossed by straight male pop stars?? Adam suggested it doesn't matter to him, but was more interested in the music, not the speculations..

As for Adam's Details shoot, the pictures were intended as fantasy obviously, and to illustrate the premise and title of the article, and there was no attempt to suggest Adam was anything but a gay man, once you read the accompanying article..

After this raunchy display on the national media, including E news, who seemed to give Nick Jonas a pass and I guess, thought it was cute.

I wonder if Nick Jonas will be barred from Good Morning America for a few years, and be left out of all the award shows; and even, God forbid; not be played on the top forty radio and other stations! I just wonder?

What Adam done with "song interpertation", on the AMA's, in my opinion, was kid stuff compared to what I saw Nick Jonas do as shown on E NEWS.

the world is full of hypocrisy. that is why nothing ever gets accomplished. one says one thing and turns around and does another. Adam Lambert wants the best of both worlds. I always have thought that about him. what he finds in men he can't find in a woman. vice versa.

Adam is definitely right about fantasy crushes. If you have a crush on Brad Pitt; realistically you are never actually going to be with him. So for the many women who have fantasy crushes on Adam , they know they are never going to actually be with him. But that's really not any different, it's a fantasy and that's just fine.

Adam put the questions out there for comment on twitter.. We all have opinions.. And theories.. And perhaps some personal insights. Most of what is posted here on this thread is each person's individual take on the subject.. As bloggers, we discuss. Many here have followed Adam's career from the beginning so have access to a lot of previous info.... Adam was wondering the same things we were. Obviously no one has access to his inner thoughts..
