NEW YEAR'S EVE CRITICS' CHOICE: Queen + Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben Live
BBC One, 11.15pm
"As another year bites the dust, Queen will rock you. Well, they are the champions. So don’t stop them now. Yes, tonight the BBC has gone music gaga. Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor join forces with US singer Adam Lambert at Central Hall in Westminster to bring in 2015 with a set of Queen’s greatest hits. The veteran rockers will blast out pomp-rock classics to a 2,000-capacity crowd, with flamboyant American Idol alumnus Lambert filling in for the late Freddie Mercury. There’s a 15-minute pause at midnight for the chimes of Big Ben, fireworks over the Thames and a chorus of Auld Lang Syne, before coverage returns to the gig."
