I can see his intent while not understanding Italian.

I still don't "get" how out of a sudden he has all these friends/fan boys from Italy. May be we just don't know everything about his life (lol), despite so many skilled ninjas in our fandom. (pokes fun at herself)

He was trying to rhyme it with Italiano, trying to be a little bit too clever. It didn't work this time.
He went to a gay bar for a drink, not realizing that Italians would recognize him, (silly man) and it seems that gay guys are not shy. After NYE the whole world knows him now. Also his friends that he had been sight seeing with were also there. He is going to need more than a hat and sunglasses not to be recognized. All that love must make him feel good though.

Adam's own fans are so hard on him.

Adam likes word play and made an innocent error because he doesn't speak Italian. Give him a break.

Nobody was hard on him, most people thought it was funny. I am sure he really laughed a lot when he found his error. He can take a little ribbing, he has great humor, and sees the funny side to most things.

Hope he does not become a word and grammar police when his fans occasionally put foot in mouth.
