Queen + Adam Lambert Appearance in Brussels Canceled, Fans Not Pleased

Many people in Brussels were getting ready to see Queen + Adam Lambert live about a week ago, but just as the show was approaching, the organizers suddenly came out with an announcement that they had to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances. According to reports, the problem specifically was that Adam Lambert was suffering from a bad case of bronchitis, preventing him from giving any performance, and he couldn’t attend the concert with Queen.
The singer’s condition was apparently caused by the last concert he attended with Queen in Frankfurt, Germany, where Adam Lambert really did give a lot of himself to the public – but it was apparently a bit too much, as his throat suffered severely from the whole ordeal and he had to cancel his plans for concerts in the near future.
Reports reveal that his condition was actually so bad, he had to receive medical attention shortly after the concert was over, and he was on a slow but steady road to recovery. The singer was quick to apologize for letting down his fans on Twitter, where he said that doctors had ordered him to stay in bed, and he couldn’t really argue with that until he actually got better.
He then went on to say that he’ll be making sure to drink plenty of water and take care of himself until he’s recovered, so he should hopefully be able to perform with Queen once again sometime soon. It’s clear that people want to see a lot more of Queen + Adam Lambert, as the concert in Brussels was already sold out and it was widely discussed in online communities of music fans.

Of course the ticket buyers were upset, even though they would get their money refunded. That wasn't the point, they wanted to see Queen and Adam lambert. I wish something could have been worked out for Queen to come back on another date, but the venue was booked for some time to come.
Feel so sorry for their bitter disappointment. If anyone can afford it may be some can go to South America for the tour in September.

It's UNFORTUNATE!!:( That's life and we need just to move on. Some are lucky and some are not! I remember Adam said, he doesn't like what people tell him what to do. In this situation, he had no choice bec. it was his health on the line.

I thanked Adam for listening indeed!!!:)

@5:42 Now that is funny. Did you enjoy her show. Although it was not a very good substitute for Jerry Lee Lewis. But something to tell your grandchildren. Who would obviously say "who is Minnie Pearl?", or for that matter "who is Jerry Lee Lewis?"
hahaha

Since Adam has never cancelled a show before, he probably argued til the last minute that he would try to do it, even with his illness. I believe he was sick the week before, and did the show anyway. When he went to get a drink of water at that show, I saw him pick up a container or bottle of something, and spray it into his mouth. If he had cancelled that show, instead of fighting through it, he probably made his bronchitis worse.
I can just see Brian ordering him to bed along with the doctor.
Fortunately he is well now, and singing better than ever.

Yea it definitely is a huge disappointment to miss a QAL show; and yes, first time Adam on doctor's and Queen's order to stay in bed; never cancelled a show before. It must have been quite traumatic, perhaps even more than the bronchitis itself, for Adam to let his fans down in such a big way. But as if to make up for it, on the next show, he did a fiery Somebody To Love, adding on another powerful riff on the 'Loveaoove' note on top of the 'Toooooo' note.

Very disappointing for those who had booked for the Brussels' concert. Maybe another concert can be scheduled after the tour in the UK finishes.

I actually commented about it, that if shows cannot be carried out...not because of Adam; I made the remark mainly because of Brian and Roger who may feel the strain more than Adam. Brian did fall sick but was able to carry on sitting on a stool, very tough guy, Brian. In Adam's case it's quite different because bronchitis involves swelling of tissues/tubes which are crucial for singing.

He put on performances that showed why he was called The Killer and the great wild man of Rock n Roll!

JAK no I never got to see him,he developed a bad reputation for canceling concerts after a while but I still liked him and have some of his music on my iPod. He was a character and a half.
