Is it a bad thing to say I don't know what spo tify is?

Ok I just got Spotify yesterday and have to figure it all out....tomorrow, tomorrow it's only a day awaaaay.

Whoa, Adam is all hooked up with a huge worldwide music company through his label, to send his Original High shooting out to reach anyone interested, around the globe. Yea Adam sure got the ground work anchored; this time Adam will target the pot of gold dangling precariously at the end of the rainbow and send it crashing down. Anyway, I see the word 'pot' in the title...yep that's the pot I've been talking about! lwl!

The correct name is "Spotify" (one word title)... not sure why it was listed the way it was in the tweet..

The word is though, that some labels (and artists) are considering limiting streaming of their artists on Spotify..or removing themselves entirely, as Taylor Swift did at the time her newest album was released...

I think it's okay to arrange the name as S pot ify...I read it as Spotify right from the start; I've and I'm sure many know it's Spotify! Don't treat people as if they are empty cans to be filled...in fact one click of the mouse will say 10 times more than what's flicked from Wikipedia, got back from there and lo and behold...saw a drop from the 'pot'. I like the word 'pot' being emphasised and quite sure it was done with deliberation.

AdminFan.....if that's your innovative arrangement of Spotify...I really like it! In fact I like the way you keep your headings/captions short and catchy, rather than repetitive long rigmaroles, where everything gets lost like a tangled piece of wire.
I particularly like this one...Handsome! Then next day...Very Handsome! And then by the third day, I suggested... Extremely Handsome! lwl! Not biased but I like...Extremely Handsome!

Sometimes Twitter people will split up a name so it doesn't go on their feed but we know who it is, example Ad am Lam Bert.

I was only trying to clarify for those who may not know what Spotify is.. I know @Admin Fan was simply repeating the way it was spelled..

Now I recall a name deliberately split up as in...Will.i.am...which brings out the emphasis...I am Will...or his own interpretation of what it means.

Glitzylady.....My comment is not just based on this situation. You have this tendency of trying to 'fill empty cans'. Try not to assume people don't know; it's better to take it as, in this age of knowledge-based technology, one click of the mouse is all it takes to get to what one needs to know; like what I did on Spotify even though I've heard of it; unless it's the occasional something rare or puzzling, a code or quote. If you so wish to exhibit your internet-flicked knowledge, then directly answer the question posed by the person rather than generalising that most present have no idea what it is...quite irritating to say the least. I don't usually tell people what to say or do but it happens much too often from you; the bubble burst so to speak.

I still don't understand why he need them I always had a feelin that adam never wanted to really go mainstream but he did so for the fans.

When people start breaking up words and wanting to get poetic that is their prerogative, confusing as it might be to others, but, they have no right telling you how to assist other Adam fans with all this new stuff.

What I don't understand is while all the pile on tonight, from people who I thought was above these silly complaints regarding the hard work that glitzylady is doing to inform fans, and keep this blog the most interesting one on Adam Lambert around.

Glitzylady, please don't let these people who think that they are the only one's with wisdom try and curtail the wonderful work you are doing!

No one complains when some of these same people type whole threads full of poems and what they feel are words of wisdom that everyone should adhere by. What I would say to them is; just scroll on by if they don't like what you post; just as many of us scroll on by their many, many posts of poems and essays!

How rude a few of these people are to glitzylady; some are long time posters to this Blog and should know better. Adam deserves better than this from his fans!!!

12:19.....Yes exactly! Too much spoon-feeding stifles curiosity and people's brains become lazy; that's doing more harm than good in the long run.
On the other hand, yes some really want to know something, simple or complex...then just help that person out, direct it to the person; that's all there is to it; rather than plonk a scoop of Wikipedia.
By the way, Adam is not quite a Wikipedia fan, he commented in no uncertain terms that at times the info is not even correct. On my part, I like Wikipedia for quick reference like on Spotify but we can get loads of info elsewhere as well.

Thanks Glitzylady for all you do. I have a busy life and 'though I am fairly tech savvy, I am often rushing when I check in on Adam's career... So I truly appreciate your taking the time to make things very black and white, thanks. My foray intO the comments sections ebbs and flows, I am glad I looked today because, again, I am sincerely grateful for the deliberate clarifications and breakdowns as I am often racing through the Adam news of the day, before running back to real life. I am typing this on a hand held, annoying, hope it all made sense :)

All the mud-slinging and disagreements aside, I think that we should all familiarize ourselves with Spotify (and Rdio) as streaming Adam's music is something we can all do to promote his music. We can download it to use in the meantime and when Shoshana lets us know what to do when the single and album are released, we are ready to jump in whole heartedly. Let's curb the senseless bickering and conserve our energy to put towards supporting our #1 guy the way only Glamberts know how to! April is only a few weeks away. JMHO

Sophie-Michelle, thanks for bringing this thread back to its senses. You're exactly right. We need to be ready to support Adam in all the ways available to us. The strategies of the TP era are over and done. We need to be a united force, using Spotify and all other means to get the first single and TOH to the top.

Just want to say that I think the "explanations" by the mods, esp. glitzylady, are one of the strengths of this site. Much more efficient than having to go to Google or Wiki. We have new visitors here who don't know all the news or the background of a topic like we regulars do. Glitzy does her homework and is a good, thorough explainer. I am not insulted by her efforts; I am thankful that I get good, efficient info. SCROLL ON BY if you don't want to read it. No one is forcing you to read anything you don't want to. No reason for anyone to go into attack mode about it.

Well I guess it is good for the people too lazy to do their own research.

Hello, to the person calling fans that post anonymous cowards; is just ridculous. Most fans post that way for many varied reasons, it is one of the OPTIONS of this thread; there is nothing cowardly about this way of posting.

Just because a person uses a name; they are still behind the computer in the dark as you call it too!!

Everyone is not computer literate as some who feel they are superior because they sign with a name! NOT!

Calling people faceless and cowardly just because they don't agree with your questionable tactics, is almost crossing the line into the territory of bullying, and this is just SAD & PATHETIC!!!

This blog was created by the Blog Owner to help fans learn what Adam is doing, watch videos, see the latest news, photos, upcoming gigs, music, etc.. etc.. etc.. To promote Adam Lambert. And to provide a place for fans to comment, sometimes get to know each other, and share information and opinions and praise for Adam. It is not a place for putting down others.. But sadly it happens.

I'm just like everyone who comes here.. I'm a (huge) fan. :) I started out as a silent lurker on this blog, I finally chose a "name" because I choose to own my comments. ( I get why some choose to be "Anonymous": it's "safer", and that's okay..). I eventually became an admin helper.. That's pretty much it.. I'm still just one of the fans when it comes right down to it.. I try to help if there is confusion about something.. If you don't need the information, cool!!!

We all have our contributions to make here.. And they are all VERY much appreciated.

I'm getting really tired of the dismissal of Anons on this site. It is obvious how many prefer being Anon from the few comments made during the sign in period.

Just because we are Anon doesn't mean we don't own our comments or are second class citizens.

Glitzylady, thank you for your efforts to make things convenient & user-friendly for us and offer clarifications and additional insight. It is courteous, and I appreciate it. Many of us do. :) IMO, you do these things because you respect and care for the visitors and Adam fans who come here....
And you want to provide the best possible info, threads and moderation within your power to do so.

I've gathered that you read people's comments closely, and truly "hear" what they relay and request/prefer to make this a good place for all... and what all of us indicate we would appreciate and find user-friendly on this site.

It is in that spirit that I believe you are being responsive and post your threads and info accordingly. I think you look at the whole overall picture of folks here.... And not just a few. I've not detected any form of "dumbing-down" type of input from you for or to the viewers here. In fact, IMHO, just the opposite. Personally, I do a lot of research as it is in my everyday life and work. I'm fairly sure others here likely do as well.... (I will say, though that I also think some biting remarks in this thread are because a troll has seized a perceived opportunity here on this thread to pose as a fan, pile on and piggy back remarks from some here to stir up strife and introduce more negative ideas to bite at as well. The tone and manner of commenting seems familiar).
..... So, you making us feel that you respect our time, interests and desires to go farther in understanding by posting clarifying info when you see opportunities in your posts and various threads is awesome - thanks!

I do not feel that one person who threw some support Glitzylady's way in this thread did so with any of the intentions you are suggesting; perhaps we should not assign other contributors here their motives. In my very humble opinion, what you are suggesting is as silly as suggesting Glitzylady has anything but honorable reasons for being very clear in her posts. IMHO, your post at 10:39 says a lot more about you than it does about any Admin or contributor here. I truly am not meaning to be hurtful, but I had to chime in and say that I think that the notion you are hinting at in your 10:39 post is not happening here at all. When some person/site user, with a tag or an Anon, posts a tidbit, I feel it is generally appreciated and thank yous are often posted to that person. I am only one 24/7 user, a lurker most days, but I do not see what you see apparently, nor feel what you seem to feel, as you expressed it in your 10:39 post. Just my POV.

I understand why some choose to remain Anon. I occasionally would LOOOOVE to revert to being an Anon.. It's VERY tempting at times. There's a safely in that.. Trolls love the Anon feature.. They can hit and run..

Most media sites, blogs, etc., do NOT allow anonymous comments.. They frequently use Twitter, Facebook, or other options as the sign in. But no Anon. comments. Period. Having a "name" still clearly allows troll comments, as they are a plague on the internet..And sometimes here on this blog as well.

This site does allow Anon comments. For a time we had to close it down and allow "tagged, signed in" posts only.. This was due to a high volume of troll comments, etc.. Some regular commenters chose not to sign in, others just simply couldn't figure out how to do it..

We opened it up again as a courtesy to everyone who wishes to comment on the blog, tagged or not, AND out of respect for those who wish to remain Anon. There is no discrimination or relegation to being "second class citizens".

There are good reasons to have a "name", one of them being that it is easier to follow a conversation, and not get confused as to who is saying what. It can help to prevent misunderstandings and hard feelings.. And sometimes, sadly, it does not, (as is clearly evidenced by this thread).. Another one is so that we can get to "know" each other better, by being able to "recognize" each other by "name".. Just a "Plus"...

Everyone here is free to choose.. I would assume there will always be commentary on the subject.

In the meantime, enjoy all of the Adam news...That's what we're here to do....

I respect all honest and sincere posters, even the ones I don't agree with, as long as a semblance of civility is used.

I started out completely anon. Then I posted, typing my "DRG" after my posts. Then I got my permanent tag. Like glitzy, there are times when I would love to post anon, but I stick with my tag. I respect tags and anons alike. But rude is rude no matter what.

That is being considerate, you are thinking and serving others - something Admins on a blog are supposed to be and do.

I am not interested in the streaming/spotify purchasing information, but I would not criticize those who provide or need such information. Why all the negative posts today, because it is too easy to scroll past what you don't feel is particular to yourself? This website is for Adam's fans and it does not reflect well of us to have this sort of chaos going on which benefits no one. This is worst than the day one withdrawal from the Queen shows.

I will not be cowered but I seldom go against what people say here because negative or positive, they have some value. But I notice some can say or defy whatever and don't get swarmed by a mob! Oh but the minute I go against one of the Groupers or Mobsters, lo and behold...you and I know what happens. A whole swarm descends on me. Well, do as you please, I shall not be clamped down and shall continue to voice my opinions. I have kungfu black-belt lol! and you Mobsters can't verbalise for two cents! The last sentence given under NOTE:/glitzylady...is atrocious. The sentence started with "...though..." so I expected something at the end of the sentence like what happens then? But it was left hanging high and dry! And we are told to NOTE!/Pay Attention! The sentence is so long and unnecessary and even the Wikipedia portion was quite confusing. The Wikipedia is just a mouse click away! And probably that was why too, my bubble burst...I just returned from Wikipedia as I was not sure what it does for Adam. And then exactly what I read was plonked right under my nose; and the portion she selected was not even explanatory. On top of that tutoring about the name Spotify which any normal reader will be able to guess it's a split word, no need for tutorial...let people have a breather to engage in some thinking of their own. Like I said, my bubble burst not based on this incident, it's so irritating built up from years of 'filling empty cans' by her. Okay being helpful is a good thing but letting the person find out things is far more important for her survival in this data/technological age!
Final analysis...I do have the right to voice my opinion with substantiation without being mobbed!

Since it's an all out affair...here goes:
Glitzylady...Could you please spruce up your postings...reminds me of a billboard with unduly large font screaming out and lots of duplication and when you break out on your own, other than what is flicked...grammatical/punctuation errors galore! Yes it's okay with grammar/spelling errors in comments, but not when you are posting upfront! I don't pick out errors for the sake of doing it; but when they try to be funny like 1:06 seconded by DRG who has degenerated into nothing but a backup to those against me, a disappointment! 1:06 can't spell vindictive and want to call me that and citing my quoting from Bible...then as the saying goes, all is fair in love and war!
Also, a couple of times, I see "edited by glitzylady" on a photo of Adam...you cannot edit a photo without the photographer's permission; that's a violation. Yes you probably can crop a picture to enlarge Adam's image but you can't state your name with "edited by". Glitzylady...You have contaminted the clean pleasant appearance of 24/7 with your aweful posting manipulations!

I certainly don't know everything about copywrites and crediting and so on....
But I as understand it, glitzylady would be right to indicate that it was edited by her in order to honor the original source of the picture... So that folks don't confuse the two, and so that she gives credit to the original source of the pic. Glitzylady isn't putting "edited by ..." On the PIC itself; rather, simply in her posts on this blog. And again, IMHO, so that we will know to give credit. I think it's intended out of respect to the original picture post. That is how it has come across to me.

Lam-My.... I like you. You really contribute a lot here and your posts and poems and humorous commments are awesome!

Please, if you would.... Please try not to lash out.... Even when you feel upset. Glitzylady hasn't meant you any harm, and it hurts to read those comments.

I understand that you feel attacked by groups of people times... And you don't deserve to feel that way. (And neither does glitzylady. Or anyone else here... None of us, do.)

I have to say Lam-my I was so surprised (shocked) when I read your first post to Glitzlady. It did not sound like you at all. Maybe a little Gremlin got to your computer or you have had an upsetting day. But it didn't seem like you at all to be so hurtful. I hope this all blow over because I like the detail Glitzlady adds to her information, I find it helpful.
Ps I find Anon postings a bit annoying which is a shame because some comments are excellent, but in my head there are only 2 Anons a good one and a grumpy one.

Yada, give me a little prayer please I need them. It's next Friday. I have had so many in two years I am scared. But I am a tough old girl. The pain has kind over my life I so hope it helps some. So maybe the old more light hearted me will come through more often. It won't correct everything hopefully it really helps. What a sweet post. We really need more level heads like you. My heart tends to rule when it comes to Adam. GL does the best she can surely a heck of a lot better than I could even attempt to do. It's not an easy job she has a job and a life. Correction the pain has taken over my life.

I don't see why we must all toe the company line and aren't allowed to say what we don't like. If this blog is here to serve all of Adam's fans why aren't we allowed to express our opinion on what we find annoying or what could use improvement. The attitude seems to be you must like it all or go away. Doesn't seem to look at the blog from a customer service point of view, as a way to include varied opinions and varied fans. Probably another reason many have left.

You may be judging some of us who come here to this site too harshly. We are a very diverse crowd. Some are in school, others work full time with a long commutes, some of us babysit our grandchildren, others look after sick spouses, and some of us are in ill health ourselves or just don't share your lifestyle. Perhaps you need to be open to the idea that we sometimes need to have "our cans filled" by the kind admins here on all things Adam because time is short, and not because we are lazy or not tech savvy. For some of us, English is not our first language or we don't live in North America and if someone can explain things to us, it is very helpful. That avoids misunderstanding and confusion. Also, Adam speaks WeHo English, which no amount of checking the Urban Dictionary will make things easier for me to understand. In those situations, anyone who can "fill my can", I welcome you helping me out.

If you see something redundant, please scroll pass those postings. Don't let those things bother you as they're not worth raising your blood pressure for at all. Save the blood pressure rising for flailing for Adam and supporting his new Album instead :))) You have a choice of not letting something upset you by just ignoring it. No repercussion to ignoring these things that you don't care for. No need to ruffle your feathers and create negative energy, right?

Exciting times are coming for us Glamberts and we need to band together to support our special guy and get to rest of the world to see what we've seen & known the last 6 years - that our Adam is a superstar and deserves their attention, too! Internal bickering within the fandom will only weaken our links.

I hope that you won't be upset by my post as I just trying to point out that despite our diversity, we all love Adam and want to flail on this site with fellow Glamberts.

7:50.....Yes I know exactly your feelings about being afraid and told to go away; boy haven't I been dragged through the streets! lol! A couple of times I wanted to leave and then you know how hard it is to leave Adam even virtually. All I have to do is listen to his singing, lo and behold...I am up on my own two feet and charge...lol! Actually, I'm not aggressive by nature but just can't let things slip further and further! And that's one reason, I keep away from certain threads because if I don't see, I won't have to critique adversely.
Don't be afraid Anon 7:50...perhaps you can give me a Tarzan call and see if I can help when you need it but only Jane will come. lol! Everyone should be allowed to express their opinions, negative or positive without be called names or chased out or mobbed! And I will not tolerate Mobsters who hit below the belt with demeaning words; why can't they debate a topic or even a controversy with substantiation rather than hitting directly at the person. I think it's okay to critique the work/postings but if one wants to hit out at the person, they must have some examples to prove what they lash out is in fact true!

I think we posters here might keep in mind that new visitors to this site get an impression of it through all our various threads and comments. This thread would not entice me to join this site. There is a big difference between being "open" to all opinions and going on long negative rants about being picked on. Enough already.

For those who prefer to stay anon on principle, that's fine. For those who have had a hard time figuring out the register process, or if it simply doesn't work for you, I suggest just typing a tag name at the end of your posts.Then we'll know who more people are, if they choose to be known. Sure, you can always omit your tag if you want to be really anon, but using one does help keep posters straight.

Just a tidbit, Adam had brunch today with Terrance at the SOHO House, in WE HO pictures posted.

It's sad that so much hurt and negativity and gets strewn about when there's so much beauty and positivity in this world to consume.
May tomorrow bring a new level of thoughtfulness and gratitude!

Nothing "high handedness" about @glitzylady's postings, she's giving us FREE so much information here that it frees me also to spend some of my scarce free time doing something else (which otherwise would go on searching info re Adam! lol!)

Don't care how high and mighty you wanna be, but please don't try to undermine glitzylady's status here (as part of the Admin team and/or as a person) nor try to uphieve the status of other members of the Admin team (who btw never even answer to you!) Regarding why I refrain from writing on certain threads...it's because exactly like on this thread, whenever I say something supposedly adverse, a whole swarm of mobsters come at me. A fair 'fight' must always be one to one! Strangely, till today, they have not managed to ruffle even a feather er hair. And so to avoid such clashes I stay away from certain threads, no intention of undermining anyone. All these years, whenever an argument erupts the Groupers/Mobsters will come at me and the person you mentioned is always lending support, sometimes subtly adding fuel on the opposite side along the Groupers/Mobsters. So over the years, I have not been able to get through these Groupers and have no interest now to do so. Hey Nameless! Faceless! You can't keep spewing venom free of charge; at least let me know who is sniping...Remove your mask and let me see your beautiful face!
