This picture reminds me of the inside of a brain. Also of a Marbling design I once did quite by accident. Marbling is...you drop a few drops of ink onto a tray of water and let it run. Place a piece of drawing paper on the surface of the water and the design will be captured on the paper. I did one with a few drops of black ink and what I got was an overblown black and white fish head with folds reminiscent of the above design; my artist lecturer complimented it. The above design has a lot more intricate details.
Lam-My Allow me to ask you a couple of questions: -is Paper Marbling a form of art, you're talking about an artist lecturer, or is it an experiment like the Rorschach Test? Something that can help interpret human personality? http://imgc.allpostersimages.com/images/P-473-488-90/75/7577/XRVD300Z/posters/akova-rorschach-test.jpg I'm also intrigued by the line from Ghost Town, have I missed something? According to Adam's tweet it is:"I tried to believe in God and James Dean but Hollywood Sold Out." or as the reviewer wrote:"....Elvis and James Dean..." Hmm, is the same line sung twice, differently? Sell out=abandon, betray, give up on....etc? Yes , this is my "territory", I love ambiguity!
Correction ....is it the same.... Too many times I type my posts either in a hurry or doing 2,3 things at a time and when I read them again , sometimes, I "weep bitter tears of hopelessness", I miss an edit button so much! lol
Pan..... Marbling is a sort of experimental design art; yes I attended a rather comprehensive art course, twice a week that stretched through a year with other media/art forms thrown in like pottery, fabric design using the silkscreen method, dabbled a bit in oil painting, block-printing using oil paints etc; at the end of the each of the segments we had to complete an assignment. Marbling was fun and fast to see the result, just a tray of water and a few drops of ink. I'll go to your rather interesting link you posted. Thanks. The lyric you quoted seems quite introverted, also...My heart is a Ghost Town...sounds a bit disillusioned.
OT. Marbling is a terrific way to make your own silk scarves. Any colors you want, great fun and beautiful! I make all of mine. It's very easy, give it a try if you are a 'scarf' person.
JAK.....That's a really refreshing idea but it would mean, you need a fast-colour dye not just ordinary paint. I would have loved using a scarf at my art course, we only used paper.
I hope Adam would/will use a certain look, a brand if you will - done by professionals - in everything that has to do with promoting the upcoming single and TOH in general. That includes Twitter and Insta, Facebook and other social media gadgets & apps. Maybe not go changing his avis all the time? But what do I know. Maybe branding and having a certain recognizeable "look" in everything you do with the launch of new music is passe too... lol!
