Review Of Adam Lambert's Upcoming Single "Ghost Town" Via Official Charts (UK)

So what does it sound like? After one play we only wrote one word in our notes: ‘BONKERS’. When it comes to pop music, this is usually a good thing. Fortunately we were allowed to listen to it again.

The song itself opens with a dramatic guitar strums that will inevitably be compared to Avicii’s Hey Brother. “I tried to believe in Elvis and James Dean but Hollywood sold out” he sings, before the whole things drops away and morphs into a chorus that is short on lyrics but big on hooks.

Crucially, Ghost Town is the kind of song that forces you to sit up and take notice which, without a major UK hit to his name yet, is exactly what Adam Lambert needs right now.

Adam was not played in the UK with his other music..He was relatively unknown until New Years Eve on BBC with Queen when the UK was made very aware that this guy Adam Lambert has TALENT and can SING!!! . He's now been discovered and has every chance to have a very big hit there now..

VERY exciting for Adam for sure!!!!

  3. Adam performed with Queen at the MTV Awards in Ireland in 2011 and then in 2012 in London & other European cities, and I've read that people have heard one or other of Adam's songs on the radio in the UK from time to time. So he was known in the UK prior to the New Year's Eve BB concert with Queen but of course, he's much more well-known in the UK, massive thanks to Queen. :-)

  5. I said "relatively unknown" in the UK prior to the BBC New Years Eve Broadcast..in spite of the Queen and Adam Lambert performances previous to that time.. Time and time again we've heard it said that people were stunned and blown away by his performance with Queen that night.. And they had not been aware of him until then.. Certainly some knew who he was previous to that, he did some promo in the UK, some GNT and Trespassing shows there, but there is much more interest and name recognition now, which is AWESOME!!! It's all good!!!!

  6. Adam also did that charity concert in England and performed at G-A-Y Bar. So he did do a lot in the UK prior to these most recent concerts. The recent concert just gave him exposure to thousands of people a night.

  8. Hmm, that review worries me. I really dislike country/folk and EDM/house music. I'd rather listen to rap/hip hop. I will wait and listen when it is released and hope for the best.

  9. I gather Adam isn't fond of rap and hip hop for himself. I'm definitely not keen on it either, nor c&w music. However, the music critics can't be saying how great the song is without good reason so I'll listen to it with an open mind.

  10. You guys don't really think Adams song will be country do you? Just because we have heard a few bars of whistling and the fact that Ghos Not Town brings up country images.
No way I say. Really can not imagine it.

  12. This review has me even more excited than I was before!!!

On a side note, I think I'm losing my marbles. I swear the reviewer typed "Elvis and James Dean" instead of "God and James Dean", but when I clicked on the link to read the review a second time, they had been changed. ;)

  14. If the song evokes 'Hey, Brother' it sounds to me like folk and dance combined.

  15. It says Elvis on the clip here but God in the article at the link.

  16. Well, my seat belt is strapped on. I am ready to be wowed and amazed by this song. I think it will be a surprise to us all. I can't imagine it will be country at all. I think it will be a moody pop song with a message and a incredible change-up in the middle of the song. Sounds like a masterpiece to me. Love the support it's getting!

  17. There is so much "hype" being written about Adam's new single Ghost Town from all that I have read on this site. I hope we are not disappointed when we actually get to hear it. I so want Adam to have the recognition and success he so deserves here in the US that just didn't seem to happen with his previous albums. He is an amazing vocal talent and has a mesmerizing stage presence that really came to the forefront with his QAL concerts recently. Let's get him on some of those talk and late night entertainment shows to perform the new single and to promote the third album being released this summer.

  18. Oh I don't think you will be disappointed. I knew with the proper producer and a label willing to put the Bucks up to back this remarkable talent is going to shine brighter than he ever has. We have to support and be positive because this time I think This time there is much to be very positive about. Let's not keep living in the past. Where would we be if Adam lived in the past you live and learn and correct what you think needs correcting. He got the best producer in the music biz right now. That one big reason radio paying attention. But between Max and Adam they are the one that are bringing us by all accounts this different and fantastic music. As they said it different from any Adams done. We got to stop living in the past and support the future because the future is next week.

You can bet fans of others like was on the idol post yesterday will try and over inflate what there idols done and under inflate what Adams done, a long with the trolls and the lol's/ trolls. They are infesting many post and the better Adam does the more they will hate. These positive reviews are killing them do there going to throw out every optical they can. But it's all BS. We need ignore it . They figure they will have a field day now upsetting us when we are so happy. You ignore them the got nothing they will finally crawl back in the hole they came out of.

I not talking so much of this post but several others last few days. I am beyond excited for this new music . Did any one read the review that said it's old school along with a ton of compliments. Adam said it's timeless music. I suspect there are several different types of music blended in a very crafty unique way. Sounds like this is one terrific song to me so excited not worried one bit about disappointment. Not happening.
