  2. I don't think so.

  3. There is other fan art of Adam that I much prefer to this fan art.

  4. This is the most ridiculous fan art of Adam I've ever seen. Sorry. Looks like a woman in rural areas somewhere in India.
    Totally not him.

    I admire your honesty.

  6. Imho, the artistry displayed here, skill & technique, is excellent. The mood, to me, is really intriquing. Because it does not capture what some Adam Lambert fans feel is a close enough representation of the Adam Lambert they know (& love), is less important to me personally than the incredible talent displayed in this piece. As someone who has never been able to adequately get the human form (as opposed to landscapes, for example, which are more forgiving), down on paper in any medium, paint pencil or otherwise, I am very impressed at the wonderful proportions & such of the human form in this piece. Such talent is amazing to me. And this artist definitely has a point of view, which I admire! An artist's take on its subject doesn't have to be like that of a headshot photograph for a yearbook or something... it's their perspective at that given moment for that given piece. Anyway, blah blah blah, really cool imho.

  9. Not keen on this at all.

  10. Whatever Adam is wearing is way out of proportion to the size of his head.

  11. I think this painting is beautiful, it captures Adam's feminine side.

  12. @ 6:38 AM, Perhpas that's intentional. Maybe the fabric is supposed to voluminous, perhaps it is being hinted at that the figure has a thick article of clothing on underneath the green fabric & there's a story there ... like Lam-My said, "interpreted by the artist".

Just my POV, no insult intended or anything.

Dori Hartley has other work that is quite spot on, as far as a more realistic approach... a piece of Kevin Spacey in House of Cards, a cool piece imho of Eminem. Just saying :)

  13. Not being an artist ... I can't say I know what the artist's intent is in her interpretation ... mine ... I can see the beauty of the painting (how can you not with ADAM as the subject) but I agree that the clothing is a bit too voluminous for my liking ... I prefer ADAM in a more realistic attire. However ... in spite of this ... I like the fan art .. just not as much as some others I've seen here. JMO ..

  14. Since I have not talent for drawing or painting, I can only respect someone who does. This represents Adam in a way that we never see him, a very feminine Adam. The blanket or whatever is covering his body, is very artful, and I suspect there is a reason for covering his whole body. The picture as a whole is not exactly my cup of tea.

  15. I can't believe what is being said about this artwork. I'm sure most of us couldn't begin to do something this well.

This fan obviously has talent and loves Adam.

I'd feel so bad for her if she came here and read some of these comments.

How we have treated fan art here previously is if you don't have something nice to say, then keep it to yourself.

  17. 6:50.....I think the artist has an in-depth understanding/feeling of androgyny. The spacious thick green cloak emphasises the dual nature of Adam, that there is a lot more than meets the eye under that covering. I feel Adam, is very complex and yet he is simple/dynamic in his outlook and thinking. Like your comment.

People are scolded here for any number of reasons or for no reason at all.

  22. Beautifully done.
Multifaceted, multilayered, complex, intriguing, mysterious - words to describe
    Adam...
Why only "photo look alike" pics are accepted as "art"... and "romantic masculine figures on white horse" (Adam's head planted on some muscular male figure)...

I embrace the multifaceted & multileyered Adam in real life, in the entertainment business and in (fan) art. I just hope that in the pursuit of more commercial success (with his music) and a wider acceptance especially in US he is not forced to "tone it down", "act like the mainstream blenders" to please the masses... and not follow his own path, not be true to himself...

Before "the mainstream world" everywhere learns its lessons, those deviating from the mainstream will not get the recognition they deserve...

  23. Generally speaking, I find the black and white fan art more interesting than those in color.

  24. On closer look, could it be computer graphics...Adam's head seems like it's pasted/planted into the green cloak covering...a little artificial.
