HITS Daily Double is predicting the following for TOH first week sales, based on first day sales:

Adam Lambert (Warner Bros.)
33-38k Sales
36-41k SPS (Sales + Streaming)

This is the #2 position as it has James Taylor's new release as the predicted #1.  Hilary Duff's and Nate Reuss' releases are predicted to come in at #3 and #4, respectively.

So is this good or bad?

@8:13pm. I've read around the blogosphere that a lot has changed in the past three years and numbers aren't like they used to be -- and that this is a good, modest success, comparable to other artists who are charting well. For example, Jason Derulo's album last year had first week sales of 44k, and Nick Jonas' had 37k. I'm sure there are similar examples from other artists. But we'll have to sweat it out til next week to see what the numbers are definitively and get the full assessment from the appropriate sources.

8:13, it's good. James Taylor is selling really well. Taylor Swift is still selling well and is expected around number two or three. It's still early in the week so with some more purchases or gifting and streaming (which doesn't cost anything) Adam can be #2.

Hopefully with all the promo this week we will see GT climbing the chart next week.

Where are GT and TOH on iTunes?

@8:13PM this is very fucking BAD! I don't have any idea who is James Taylor! My husband is 12 years older and he doesn't have any idea who is this guy. Please, got to the stores,Amazon and buy The Original High. Hilary Duff has less sales just because her teen fans don't buy hard copy, they just download music.
By the way, yes, my English isn't very good because I'm from Russia. But it doesn't mean I drunk and stoned permanently. My husband is American who is crazy about Adam and would let me spend any piece of penny of our money to support Adam. I can't afford it because I still have to help my son to pay for his masters:)

@8:31PM Are you talking about the artists like Taylor Smith, GaGa or this fucking Sam Smith? May be Adele whose album still on top 20 or Guardians of Galaxy album?

delilah Mercury, James Taylor is a well-established and well-known singer/songwriter from way, way back. If Adam has the longevity that James Taylor enjoys, he will be doing very well. Google him and listen to him on YouTube.

Nothing wrong on being #2! He's been #2 before in his life and he's done very well in his career since then and well surpassed the #1 person. Aren't the BB numbers based on the 1st week, not only the 1st day? There's still plenty of time to stream, buy and gift!

Delilah James Taylor has tons of hits. You've Gotta Friend, I've Seen Fire and I've seen Rain, Carolina On My Mind just to name a few. Most of his fans are older and are going to buy the music and not stream it.

Adam may not be number 2 next week. This is just for the new releases this week. He could be lower, just depends on how last week releases do. I do not see how artist can make money. No one is buying music only the diehard fans. With all of the streaming sites that you can get any and all the music you want for 9.95 a month, whose to blame them. I read that ITunes may start doing the same thing. How can artist make it , in this industry today.

Love James Taylor. Always have. Still do. His fans are legion and loyal for decades. I have been doing all I can to support Adam, so let's keep it up and his official numbers will look very good. There is time to stream, buy, download, iTune, gift, view, etc. He's right up there with some big names!

Delilah, glad to hear your husband would allow you to spend money. Also glad to hear it wouldn't be on that fucking Sam Smith.
