Dotting the eyes (above)...is actually putting two dots of red paint on the Dragon's eyes to make them come 'alive' and dance; usually on auspicious occasions like Chinese New Year and other festive celebrations. It's a very important ceremonial tradition, this dotting the Dragon's eyes symbolises opening of the mind/spirit. I think it's also done to the Lion's eyes for the Lion Dance. As they say, eyes, windows to the soul. Also, this dotting of the eyes is done by a person of hierarchical importance; the Sifu perhaps. Adam was undoubtedly the Singing Sifu of the night.
