Paula Abdul announced the latter band, referencing the game-changing cover of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World” that Adam Lambert performed back when she was still a judge on American Idol. Other presenters of the night included original MTV VJ Martha Quinn (receiving a “The Mighty Quinn” serenade from Boy George), Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna, former Saved by the Bell star Mario Lopez, and actress Wendi McLendon-Covey from the ‘80s-themed sitcom The Goldbergs.

Good for Paula. Her affection for Adam seems to have never wavered.
I wonder if she will make an appearance on Am Idol before it comes to an end.

I'll probably just wait until the final show unless ADAM appears anytime before that. Not really interested in AI for a very long time ... just watch the recaps on Ytube once in awhile ... anyone know if/when ADAM will be on ... if at all ... he sure seems terribly booked up this year ... hope he can give us one last Brilliant performance before AI disappears into the sunset!!

Just watched the "Tears for Fears" performance of "Mad World" that Paula introduced on that video... first time I've heard the original.
Wow, I'm so impressed by Adam's interpretation of that song on AI.. he painted a much stronger and more intense mood with his voice.. of a dark, uncaring, confusing...and SAD world... all the while keeping his voice so tightly "reined" back. Genius!
It's true.. when Adam sings a song, it becomes his own--better than the original, IMO. Actually, I would LOVE to hear Adam do a cover album of some "golden oldies" in assorted genres--- giving his own unique voice/interpretation to them.
