Finally....a splendid poster....with EVERYONE included, even Frank! How nice!
ReplyDeleteWell.....Actually, Frank is depicted on Brian's shirt.....but, close enough!
ReplyDeleteYAY!! An EXCELLENT poster that includes Frank & Freddie. Very well done!! <3
ReplyDeleteGreat poster. I'll miss Frank. Adam made a slightly saucy joke about Frank in the Amsterdam concert. Wonder if he did that everywhere.
ReplyDeleteMarielle...I feel sure he did the same one..or two...everywhere. More like "raunchy" than "saucy"... you were being too polite. Adam DOES get a bit risque now and then...Oh my!
ReplyDeleteBTW....I think Frank should be a regular fixture of Queenbert concerts. He's a pretty spectacular way to open the show.

ReplyDeleteLet us not forget that this is a ROCK concert & ADAM's innuendos are mild compared to some of the things that are said/done at them by other artists!!
ReplyDeleteRE: the poster ... BEST one of the tour ... IMO!! Good job!!

Why does everybody think that a "rock" concert has to be raunchy? ....Music is music. I'll admit that it sometimes is...but is that why people play it...or go see it? Maybe some. It certainly "excuses" a lot of words and actions that would be better off avoided, IMO.
ReplyDeleteI feel that way about Rap, too. I miss the days when people were more mannerly...and had better vocabularies! If that makes me sound old-fashioned...so be it!
BTW, Lambert Outlaw, there's no "innuendo" about Adam's..."Frank's been up my a--", IMO. That's not a suggestion...that's saying it outright. I just think he's classier than that, and just as funny without it. Again, ... IMO.
Nanbert .. don't misunderstand me .. I'm not saying that what ADAM says/does at these concerts is necessarily acceptable ... I'm just saying that's the way it has always been at ROCK concerts in the past ... check out some of the concerts from the past ... all I'm saying is ADAM is only being himself & in his estimation a few "questionable" moves & phrases aren't that bad!! Did you notice the clip with Freddie before the finale ... Ay-O ... he throws an F-bomb out to the audience & they LOVE it!! They laugh & cheer ... I guess they don't mind so it goes on at most of them!! I'm sure if there was an uproar of indignation it wouldn't be allowed!! Or at least not used as often!!
ReplyDeleteTake care hon & Merry Christmas!!

Sometimes people will react with amusement to something in a group that they usually find unacceptable one on one. I'm not sure why that is, but maybe everyone is anxious to be considered open-minded and "one of the guys" when in a crowd. A gesture like Freddie's in a one on one situation COULD lead to a fight!
ReplyDeleteLet's put it this way...if someone made that gesture to me, I would be very insulted and angry. I suspect most of us would....most of that crowd would, too. It just doesn't seem quite as "personal" when directed to a large group of people, I guess.
However, I don't think it adds anything to the proceeding...except for leaving a slightly unpleasant "aftertaste" for me....even though I might emit a "ha" in that crowd situation, (to be "one of the guys", I guess).... but certainly NOT when watching the video of it alone. That was actually (to me) quite a dismissive, distainful and imperious gesture from Freddie after the crowd had obeyed his every "request" in that ay-o session. I actually felt sorry for them.... it seemed belittling...and hurtful. IMO.
I still don't understand why that particular clip was included in the concert ... particularly after Bo Rhap & before ADAM's entrance dressed with the Gold & Silver costume plus the crown!! Perhaps as an acceptance of ADAM by Freddie or maybe just as a final farewell to the fans!! I can honestly say I'm a little confused!! I think a clip of Freddie singing .. I Will Always Love You ... if anything at all ... would be better!! JMO

I agree Lambert Outlaw...that Freddie "ay-o" session was quite jarring, IMO, and broke the natural flow of the concert...even though it came after BoRap and before the encore... seemed a non sequitor, out of place, IMO....especially the F U gesture at the end...Why keep that?
ReplyDeleteI agree the ideal way to remember Freddie is in Brian's "Love of my Life" solo...where a Freddie video joins in seamlessly with Brian.. Touching and well done.
And BTW, at least when Adam gets a lot of singing and response from the audience, he rewards them with big smiles, encouraging remarks, thumbs up, thanks, high approval, etc! Delightful!
