He's certainly got big shoes to fill, taking the reins from Freddie Mercury - one of the most charismatic frontmen in the history of rock and roll.
And Adam Lambert discharged his
duties with aplomb on Wednesday night, when Queen took to the stage in Sydney in the first show of their eight-date
Australian tour.
The US singer, who shot to fame as
runner-up on American Idol in 2009, exuded a confidence
that would make Freddie proud as he strutted his stuff at Qudos Bank Arena.

apprentice than world-beating rock star, wearing a sleeveless black smock which
exposed his full sleeve tattoos.
Looking every bit the rocker, Adam
finished his 'gig wear' with a pair of dark sunglasses and a pair of black,
fingerless gloves.
It appeared that Adam barely stood
still for the entire set, jumping around and raising his fist triumphantly as
he belted out a slew of Queen hits.
As an explosive light show evolved
behind him, Adam looked to be giving his all, paying due reverence to the
band's iconic catalogue.
