Can't believe what Trump and the Republicans are proposing about transgenders....urging government agencies to define..."sex as either male or female, unchangeable, and determined by the genitals that a person was born with ...any dispute about one's sex would have to be clarified using genetic testing"...article by the New York Times.
The Times went on to say that "this definition would write transgender people out of existence"! They would have no civil rights whatsoever!
And where does that leave the trangenders who have already made their change? In no-man's land? And what about all the ones in the armed forces? I read that some transgenders have even been denied passports already!

No wonder Adam is so upset! Let's help him "fight this bullshit" in any way we can...VOTE!

What bothers me the most other than Trump (who has made it clear that he is a moron) is that there are so many other people in this country and politics that follow this sort of thinking. It is very disheartening that these ideas are even spoken. Let alone, that we have to fight so hard to keep the rights that are already in place.
Well, I'd say Singapore is advanced in this area of gender reassignment surgery, for past 30+ years, not a simple matter or procedure. The person has first to be attached for regular counselling and examination to a psychiatrist / gynaecologist / highly qualified specialists, who would eventually give the go-ahead or not, depending on how ready the person is. And after the procedure, close monitoring to help with the transgender person to overcome difficulties/adjustments. The transgender sex of the person is officially stated on his/her identity card but not birth certificate; and recognised in our court of law / on transgender marriages and related matters.

It's "one step forward, five steps back" since this ghastly Administration took over.
It seems that the "playbook" for this Administration is to primarily trash every contribution to human rights, climate control, world peace, CIVILIZATION! that Obama made during his presidency...to completely decimate his legacy!

Since November 2016, American has taken great steps backward, morally, ethically, globally. Sometimes I feel like my head is going to explode.
