You can sure tell that it is Adam. Wish he would sing in the movie. Is this movies just for kids, or kids at heart like us also?

Adam WILL be singing, creamtangerine! I think one song, but not sure. Also voicing a character ("Fairy Godmother") and singing will be Meghan Trainor.

That's great, thanks for the info.

This movie looks like a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to it. Wish I had a kid to take along, but I have a friend or two who will enjoy it. Adam's voice is so cute. And yes, he WILL be singing!

Cannot wait.

I hope he's got a GREAT song....one that will LAST outside/after the movie! I'm sure his delivery will be great.

Are you ready to have some fun? Hee hee I'd like to go see it but I have no kids to bribe to come with me. To go alone, what will they think that this grown woman wants to see this cartoon! Hahaha

I never thought of that Sunflower. I was planning on going alone. I'm thinking the worse thing 'they' can think is that I'm a goofy crazy old lady. I'm gonna go anyway. I'll be mad at myself if I didn't go for that reason. I hope you get comfortable and go too. I'm not even sure anyone will care or give me a second thought. Also I don't really care what 'they' think. I'm going.

Sunflower and Patria..haha...I have the same problem....be brave! Too bad we don't all live in the same place, so we could go together. I don't know one Adam fan....i.e. in the flesh! Actually, I don't know many people at all anymore...except for my son and his family. The trouble is, by the time you get to my age, your friends have died, are in nursing homes, have Alzheimers, or have moved to warmer climes.

So....I'll just have to be an "eccentric" (that's classier!) old lady going by myself to a kids show! haha

Btw...I have the impression that Adam is only in one episode in the movie....not throughout the whole thing. If we could find out what part he's in...maybe we could sneak in for that section, and leave again without suffering too much embarassment! Just thinking. LOL

Sunflower said...

Hahaha Patria and Nanbert! This is too funny! Well if I must, I must! I dare anyone to call me a weird old lady! Hahaha

Getting serious here. There are good reasons not to go. If you don't want to go for any reason (example, such a small part of the movie), you don't have to explain yourself. "I don't want to go' or 'I'm not going' should be totally acceptable. If it's not, that's the problem of the person wanting your excuse. I think of it as No meaning No.

Actually, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the whole movie. I'm going in the first place because Adam is in it. But, I enjoy those "kid" movies, because usually they have another whole line of humor in them that is geared for adults...at least the really good ones do. You can already see that in the video flyer posted here.

I don't think I've ever gone to one since Bambi and Cinderella. I'm going for Adam and to see if I like these kind of movies.

Patria said...

I did see one since then. Ratatouille. I loved it.

Nanbert said...

Patria....I've see a lot, much earlier with my grandkids, and trust me, most are really fun....and also usually "feel good".

Aw, c'mon you guys. I'm going and I'm wearing my capris with thongs on my feet. It's summer and it's hot. I'm 77 and I LOVE cartoons. Have an entire collection of Disney and Pixar. I watch Wall - E at least once a year (Such a cute love story). Dumbo always makes me cry when his mom's in circus jail and he climbs onto her trunk and she sings to him while she's rocking him and then he gets pulled away by the "People." "Cinderellie, Cinderellie, night and day it's Cinderellie" sung by the mice. I could go on, but you get my drift.

I went to see 2012 in 2009 and was the only one left in the theater as the credits rolled to Adam singing Time for Miracles. Of course ten years ago I was just a baby of 67.

Don't stay home, go listen to Adam in his first movie with a speaking role, cartoon or not. He was in Bohemian Rhapsody as the truck driver, but spoke not. I may not live long enough to see him speak in a movie. Not gonna let this opportunity slip by.

You fraidy cats can always watch when it comes out on Netflix or Red Box.

I'm not scared, as Adam said on American Idol to Randy J. Hopefully nothing happens so much crap in my life right now to prevent me from seeing it.
Other wise I will be at that movie theater with bells on as my Nana used to say.

Patria said...

Ha Ha Curly. I remember watching the Time For Miracles credits with my daughter. One of the employees was in our theater sweeping up the big chunks from the aisles and seats. We didn't let that hurry us out.

I hadn't thought of it as Adam's first speaking role, but that is THE reason to go.

FYI I'm 77 and wearing Bermuda shorts and flip flops. The flip flops are worn even in the winter when there's no snow. It's the only way to go.

Who do you go to the movies with Curly? I went to see the Julia Child movie one afternoon and there was only one other lady there and me. We didn't visit but we both had a good time watching it. That movie made me want to go home and put on my pearls and eat a stick of butter. I'm hoping to pick a slow time slot for Playmobil. The kids will be back in school here, so I have a good shot at it.

You're right, I need to get out more often.

Your comment made me TRULY want to wear my pearls, but butter goes right to my butt so I stay away from it. Go to the first showing of the day, M - F, the "matinee" is always cheaper too.

I go to the movies like I watch my College football games on tv...ALONE! I got tired of waiting for a friend to be ready when I picked them up to go to the movies and missing the first 10 - 25 minutes of it and REALLY tired of people in my home, eating my snacks, watching my big screen tv and rooting for the other team. I'm not mean or hateful. I love my friends and relatives. I have just come to the realization that at our age we should be allowed to be where we want to be when we want to be there. We put other people first for most of our lives. It's time we put ourselves and our comfort first.

When my husband of 48 years died 9 years ago, I wanted to go with him so badly. I miss him terribly because we read each other's minds, so to speak. He spoiled me for the company of others except for our kids, their spouses and our grandkids.

Over the years I have found three very good friends. Me, Myself and I get along famously. We think alike. We like the same foods. We even dress alike. We don't have to sit and wait for anyone to be ready. I like it that way most of the time. You'd have to ask Me and Myself how they feel.

My husband loved Adam's voice and his sense of humor. I wish he had lived to see how Adam is revered by so many now. I have a feeling that somehow he knows because he also loved Queen. He'd sing along with Queen and wink at me when he sang "Flat" Bottom Girls.

Have a nice weekend all.

I oftentimes in the past gone to movies by myself -- and there are always others om the theatre who are alone, as well. No one is really judging, or cares. In recent times, I have gone either with my whole family (mother, father, brother and sister -- none of us kids are married or have partners or have children and we're all 50+!), and we recently saw the big Fathom Events screening of "Field Of Dreams" on Father's Day and it was wonderful. I also sometimes go with my brother -- we saw my first (of three, so far!) screenings of BoRhap together -- as well as my sister, who is a "special needs" adult, and she loves to see almost any of the animated films or films where animals are the star -- although I absolutely can't take her to all of them, not only because of time, but because a lot of them are actually pretty horrible! But I'm soon to take her to see Toy Story 4, which we're looking forward to -- and DEFINITELY to Playmobil! I KNOW we're going to have a great time seeing it.

But can I make one suggestion for anyone who is a bit hesitant to go on their own -- or even if you're not hesitant: look on Fandango for your movie choice, and then MAKE SURE that the theatre you're going to see it in has the luxury recliner seats. Did you all know that many, many theatres have that now? Big cushy recliners where the foot rest automatically lifts & extends at the touch of a button. Even a year or two ago, it was the random theatre that might have these recliners. But today? It is all the rage! Because of Netflix and the like, theatres now have to think up new ways to get people off their couches and into their theatres. One way has been upgraded food at the concessions counter. And another has been these recliners -- and they have proved to be such a hit. It's like once you see a movie in a recliner seat, you can't go back! lol It makes it an EXPERIENCE and so comfortable -- and, the way they are configured, it's even affords a bit more privacy that a regular theater -- that should inspire some of you who might be hesitant to go alone! :)

The only way I'll see a movie without a recliner is if the movie is simply not playing in a convenient enough theatre that has those seats -- although here in the Bay Area, a great majority of the theatres now have them, so it's not that difficult. Fandango actually lists for EACH MOVIE whether or not the seats are the "recliners" or "luxury loungers." If it doesn't say that, then assume they don't have it, or call the theatre to ascertain. And I have found that the ticket prices aren't more expensive for those upgraded seats -- most theatres now just have them as their regular type of seating. Trust me, guys, it will totally change your movie-going experience -- and you get to enjoy PLAYMOBIL in great comfort!!

People I will go see this movie, I've seen many animated movies throughout my life, seen Bambi, Cinderella, Jungle book,Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Anastasia, The Little Mermaid,Snow white (I have Snow White VHS tape), Ratatouli, Toy Story and on and this Playmobile will be on my list. I go to the matinee because of lower ticket prices, then I go out for lunch afterwards, I never eat popcorn or anything or drink anything either (as a child I loved eating Junior Mints) but I rather wait for lunch. I have no problem with the seats either and where I live there is a Theater with comfortable seats but eh, I'm ok with the seats. One complain is the 20 minutes or so of coming attractions. Lol

Sunflower said...

By the way I did the same thing when 2012 came out I stayed until the closing credits were done because I too wanted to hear Adam sing Time for Miracles and the lights were on and everyone was leaving and the workers (whatever they're called started cleaning up and my friend and I were the only 2 left.

Patria said...

The last two movies I went to were at a theater with recliners, I agree Broddy, I hope I never have to go to one without them again. My grandson says they also have heated seats. That there is a button below the arm rest.

Sunflower I agree about coming attractions but especially about the abnormally high sound level. Once I stuffed tissue in my ears and the lady behind me says, 'look she put tissue in her ears'. The man she was with said 'Yeah well that's because it's loud enough for the dead to hear.'

Curly, I I've been a widow since 2003, I value my independence more than my need to find some one to do things with. We all do plenty of waiting when we get in shopping lines or go to an appointment, if I can come and go as I please, that's my first choice. Like Broddy says about going alone to a movie - no one cares or is judging.

What I'm reading here, it sounds like we all plan on going to Playmobil and Adam is our motivation.

Sue Smith said...

Well I'm afraid will be roughing it. The theatre that I'll go to it's not in the big city so they do not have those seats They do have 3 or 4 movies running on different stages at one time. Afternoon showing usually not very busy. However last time saw a movie was BR movie. With my lousy back seats like that would be wonderful.
But I'll rough it for Adam he deserves it.

I to like Animated movies alot. When I was a kid my favorite was Lady and the Tramp. Snow White gave me bad dreams. My two older girls to this day cant stand the Wizard of Oz. They say its a horror movie lol. It was not animated tho.
Loved Beauty and the Beast and many more. My 2 grand sons have autism. They would have to have head phones because children with Aitism are very, very sensitive to loud sounds. Also nothing even remotely scary.

broddybounce said...

Sue, my sister is similar to your grandsons! She does not have autism but a birth defect called Williams Syndrome. She is very sensitive to loud noise and brings earplugs with her which she puts on if things get loud in movies or at a concert (including when we just went to see the band Chicago in San Jose a few nights ago -- who were amazing, btw). No scary/horror films, yes, and she does not like to see action movies -- no explosions or gunfire, please!

Nanbert said...

Well, I have to admit that the first time I went to a movie by myself was to "Bohemian Rhapsody"! I survived nicely, and even went to another movie alone the following week. One thing I did notice in both was that there was only a handful of people in the theatre during the day, and most were loners, too. So much for worrying about being conspicuous!

Janet said...

Gp for it. You'll regret it if you don't

Sue Smith said...

Broddybounce your sisters sytems and needs do sound similar to that of a person with Autism. Bless you for being so kind to her.
My daughter is remarkable all she has had to handle. However they are remarkably smart and have come a very long way. I used to go up there and help her alot when they were younger and I was able to.
That review I believe in Houston tbe other day that was really great, you had suggested we give an nice comment to it. I tried but couldn't bring up the comment section or I would have done that.
