Somehow we missed this June 25th (2019) performance of Adam Lambert at the Grand Opening concert of New York City's Hudson Yards, a real estate development that includes a public green space and eight structures that contain residences, a hotel, office buildings, a mall, and a cultural facility.

Adam sang one of his biggest hits, "Whataya Want From Me," as well as the Queen classic, "Somebody To Love."  The concert also included performances by Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman, and Deborah Cox, and was hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker.

And here is another video of "Somebody To Love" taken by a different attendee with a slightly better camera.

And the show was reviewed by Digital Journal:

Digital Journal:
Review: Adam Lambert captivates
The Vessel at Hudson Yards in New York

"...his mini-concert was superb ... His performance was controlled, dynamic, and sheer bliss. He was able to hold the 'me' note for a long time towards the end of the song.

"(On) 'Somebody To Love' by Queen...(he) began the classic rock tune displaying his whistle register and was able to hit it out of the ballpark.  His version was stunning and euphonious.  One can always count on Lambert taking a song by any other artist or band, twisting it and making it his own."

What a nice surprise... a great performance by Adam...and a very nice review. I only have one remark....as far as I know, Adam does not have a "whistle" register....or if he does, that's the first I heard of it.... and certainly there was no sign of it here. But the reviewer is obviously a Glambert, and can be somewhat excused for being effusive!

I am delighted to see Adam in the company of such a top echelon of vocalists, i.e. world-class VOICES (IMO) such as Josh Groban and Sarah Brightman! I am not familiar with Deborah Cox, but assume she is also in that league. Like Adam, those voices don't need autotune!

She is a wonderful R&B artist -- yes, gifted with a great voice! -- who I believe Adam has at least once said in the past he very much admires.

off topic, OMG is bouncing around my head
My daughter tweeted to Adam and he "Liked" it. It has a picture of me, my daughter and granddaughter.
It's in his twitter account under the Likes tab.

Patria...how nice! I'm sure you're thrilled! I think you should copy that and frame it with the photo. It would make a lovely memento.

Broddybounce...thanks for the info. In fact I did look up Deborah Cox after confessing ignorance....don't listen to popular music anymore.... only to Adam's, Queen and Adam Lambert's and, as always, Classical....so I'm kinda out of the mainstream.

BTW....meant to mention that I really liked that black outfit Adam was wearing at that Hudson Yard concert...not just because of the color, because it'd look great in almost any color.....but the fit and style of the jacket and slacks just look so CLASSY on him! And how can he travel around so much and then pop up on stage looking so pristine? Anytime I travel, my clothes all look like a mess...with all the wrinkles neatly folded into them!

I wonder if Adam packs for himself. He always seems to have the proper clothing ready for any occasion/appearance.
