Adam Lambert will be performing at the 2020 GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Awards ceremony in New York on March 19th.  As part of this event, GLAAD is running a contest where one lucky winner, who has contributed at least one $20 donation, will be chosen to enjoy a Facetime with the one and only Adam, direct from the event's red carpet!

Oh my....if I won that, I know I'd be absolutely tongue-tied once Adam's face was looking at me, and expecting me to say something intelligent!...haha

Dee R Gee said...

I have never even done a quick meet and greet. If I won this contest, I think I would get tongue-tied. Everybody says how nice he is at M&Gs. But this contest is more one-on-one personal. I'd be a mess. LOL

Final show of this QAL tour leg is tomorrow! What a ride it's been so far! So we will al lget into Velvet mode!

Please keep streaming Roses if you have some spare time. It would be great if Velvet debuted strongly. Can't wait for Adam's US promo appearances!!!!!

Nanbert said...

I knew Adam is performing at the Glaad Awards, but just discovered that he is also a Nominee for "Outstanding Music Artist" for Velvet: Side A. Nice! I must have missed that information somewhere.

Hope he wins that award! This does seem like it is Adam's Year!

Dee R Gee said...

I missed that, too. Hope he wins. VSA has some really great songs!

I had a quick Meet and Greet during the Glam Nation tour and he was very nice. Facetime - no, that would be nerve-wracking. I wonder how long the Facetime chat will be.

Dee R Gee said...

Well, the first QAL leg is over and it was amazing! That Queen shirt that Adam wore was the same one he's worn in years past. Full circle! He was really on fire this night! Now we are on to Velvet promo and tour! Please stream Roses if you can. It would be nice for Velvet to debut with some good numbers. He deserves all the support we can give him.

Very interested to see what his Vegas show looks like. I'm sure he will be busy with that prep as soon as he gets home.

The first time I came face-to-face with Adam was on his Glam Nation Tour in 2010. A few of us waited about an hour-and-a-half out in the intense heat of Phoenix, AZ to greet him after his wonderful concert. He finally came out to sign autographs but, he was in no mood for any chit-chat with fans. He went down the line and signed for each of us as he was still chomping on his veggies, (BTW, how about that fried rice?). As we stood in line, about 40 fans, I noticed that he had tongs on his feet - funny, how we look at little details. I profusely apologised to him because I gave him a piece of scrap paper for his signature but, I got not even the least word or response out of him. My little gang of Glamberts agreed that he must have been physically exhausted because he seemed so robotic and just looked down as he came to each person. I was dying to see his magnificent eyes, to no avail. After he finished signing, he and his drummer quickly turned and walked back into the building. My point here is that we put stars on a pedestal, as if they are not human. They don't get exhausted, they don't eat carrot sticks in front of their fans, they don't freeze up with no chit-chat, etc., etc., etc..We melt when they are in our presence or in our own personal space but, they don't return that same response - wonder why? I am going to research my university's archives to find out if any Masters or PhD papers have ever been written on the subject of "THE HUMAN BODY AND THE EFFECTS OF THE STAR-STRUCK SYNDROME." A funny story, which is very true. A well known pop singer, from England, admitted to his fans that whilst he was performing on stage in front of a huge audience, that he "shat his pants". These were his exact words, not mine. Believe me, every time I hear him sing now, that is a memory that is forever embedded in my brain. Or, let's talk about famous little Justin Bieber, who had to urinate while he was walking through the hotel kitchen, and chose to pee in the mop bucket full of water which was to be used to mop the floor. The word of the day is HUMAN, when all the stardom is stripped back. IMHO, they are also very lucky to have us, their devoted fans. Jean Renard

I'm sorry Rosemary I never finished my 7 ft man story from the 2014 QAL tour. I received some really bad news about my back from the recent MRI and Xrays. Have some hard decisions to make. I won't go into that here, now. I was really down the other day.
There really not much more to it. Do not know if he was quite 7 ft. Tall but very close to it he may have aserggerated an inch or 2. It was the first world tour they did QAL has grown by leaps and bounds since then. It was at an arena. This arena which is the biggest in Houston is more of a basket ball arena. They did not have the guitar neck part of the stage out. The other tours after that they did. We had good seats for that one. We were last on the roll so we could step out a bit to see Adam. It was hard because I was only 3 weeks out of a 5 way bypass. My husband was having a fit that I went but I did and thanks to my daughter I made it. He said I would not.

I also went to the Glamnation concert in Houston. The 2014 QAL and this GN tour was the only two I was able to go to. Adam has said that he was so exsausted and depressed after the GN tour it took Sauli to pull him out of it. He came to the US they started dating and he slowly pulled out of it. He did way over a hundred shows in about 5 months. Like 125 to 145 something of that nature. Yes he gets tired and depressed and maybe down and grouchy.
I remember the next day on the radio after the Houston GN concert remarks from the DJ. This was the concert I was at in Houston. The DJ said a number of fans caught Adam coming out of the back stage door. He signed autographs and talked to them for quite a period of time. Finally they told him they had to get on the bus and go. I was not in that groupe. This is about the time If I Had You Was coming out.
Adam was just starting out as a celebrity then think he had a hard time adjusting as he has remarked about that over the years.
Im not getting into the B---h comment thing. But Adam did say room service was coming he would call them back. However then he said I guess I could eat durring the chat. He did say I hope you dont think I am rude for eating while talking. It's easy to say he should have waited to another time. That may not have come for a good while. It was late and they had one more concert left. He has so much on his plate right now. Planning A big Vegas show, costumes, staging, songs. Plus promoting Velvet, and performances on tv. That takes planning as well. Just now finished part of a huge tour.
Hell yes he tired I'm tired talking about it.

Adam is a nice man but even Adam has days he off and maybe would over react to something again I'm not getting into an argument over it. The only thing I heard was the chat. I went on Tik Tok only saw some great videos that's all.
But then I was not looking for anything but the videos.
Yes Jean Celebs are humans they have their off days. When they are on tour they have to keep dealing with fans even when they are down we dont have to do that all the time. Yes all of us at some time deal with people when we just are not feeling like it. I know I have.
When celebs are on tour they deal day after day if they are down or up.
Yes Adam is lucky to have loyal fans he always saying that himself. But were all so very lucky to have him, Adam being unpleasant these kinds of incidents are very rare. With many other celebrities they are very common place.
Rosemary I was just addressing you about the 7ft tall guy after that I seem to get off on other subjects, sorry.
These are just my opinions like others have said.

Sue....glad to see you back. You were gone for several days, and I knew you had an important Drs. appointment. I was getting worried, and now from your comments above, you have not received good news. I hope when you feel up to it that you will tell us about it.

In the meantime, my thoughts and best wishes are with you....as I'm sure everyone else's here is as well.

Sue Smith said...

Nanbert I will tell about it soon as I figure it out. They want me to go to a spine dr. The pain has been so severe because things are on the fast track down hill in my back. It Is complicated
To explian it all. That procedure I was going to get probably would not be the right thing right now. That was just to help the pain would not have corrected anything. I have degenerate bone disease so operating is a very could hurt me even worse thing for me. After she saw the New MRI and Xrays it was a more serious ball game. After I go to a spine doctor I will know more. I'll be able to see what the options are. It's pretty serious.
They are suppose to make the appointment. It sometime takes awhile with a spine doctor to get in.
Thank you for your concern Nanbert you have always shown that to me and I so appreiate it.

Sue Smith said...

That was it is complicated to explain it all.

Rosemary White said...

Oh dear, that sounds dreadful, Sue. I hope you're having as much pain relief as possible, and that an appointment with a spine doctor becomes available soon.

Rosemary White said...

Jean, I know who the popular English singer is to whom you referred in your post. Perhaps you and I saw/heard the same interview and like you, that comment is now embedded in my brain. Why anyone would mention that is beyond me. I'm not a fan of rap music so I don't follow him but there is a lovely ballad of his of which I'm fond .... and whatever song he sings, you can hear every word distinctly.

Sue Smith said...

Thanks Rosemary I hope so to. I haven't been to sleep because of the pain. Thanks for your concern that's means alot.

Nanbert said...

Sue....my fingers are crossed that you will be able to see a spine doctor soon, who will be able to help improve your condition....surgically? Perhaps to stabilize it? Please keep us informed...when you feel up to it.

Sue Smith said...

Nanbert thank you! Another pain Dr. I went to about 3 years ago told me whatever you do, do not let them cut on your back. The reason being the softness of my bones due to the degeneration. I had to stop going to him do to being out of net of my insurance. We have to go 70 miles every month to this pain dr.
The dr. The other day said the narrowing to my spine getting much worse. I am quite sure I am not explaining it correctly. Also the artharites has gotten way worse among other things.
I need an operation badly but it is very dangerous on me. But we will see what the spine doctor has to say about it all, if I ever get in.
It is quite complicated. I've been told my back looks like a train ran over it.
When I had heart surgery all the wire popped loose shortly after the operation because of the softness of the bones. They were hoping it would grow together on it's own. It did not had go back a year later and have a second operation to put medal something like that and screws to hold where they operated together. My explanation is not great but it's all true.
Not explaining well but it's just hard to explain. I'll know more after the spine dr. All I know is its serious and I'm in pain.
Hope I can explain better after I know more.
Thanks to you and Rosemary for all your concern.

Sue Smith said...

The doctor also went on about the herniated disc's I've had for many years. I was so depressed the day I went to the dr. I think some went in one ear and out the other. I'll try and be more cheerful than talking about my soap opera back to much. Lot of things to look forward to in Adam land. I'll concentrate on that for now. Thank God for Adam and the distraction of genuine talent.

Saw a clip of one of Adam's interviews in Australia in the past day. Quite fun. He did several. Hopefully we'll see the entire interviews soon. Then he'll be on his way HOME to get ready for VELVET!

Gotta hand it to Australia and NZ. They LOVE Adam and they show it with their amazing support of him as a solo artist as well as Queen frontman.

Wonder if he'll do some solo shows in OZ eventually?

What is so great I read on a comment section on Instagram few days back. It was from a person in Aistralia. They said they were flying in to see Adam's show in Vegas. He just was there. So they want to see Adam own show and music. I think it was IG was some comment section I dont read many of them. I think that's so great especially since he was just in their country with QAL.

That was Australia.

Jean Renard said...

@Rosemary White.......I definitely agree with you - why would any famous singing artist want to share with the world his habit of prolific gas projectiles while on stage, plus the disgusting "pants poop"? But, I bet you that the ballad of his that you love is the one that I absolutely adore, "Thinking Out Loud". He wrote that song and wow, just wow, is it ever romantically beautiful. Have you ever seen the video to that ballad? It is simply breathtaking and stunning. The female dancer is beyond superb. BTW, want to hear another funny story that my friend shared with me a few good years back? She was on a very crowded international flight which was delayed for take-off because a famous French actor, Gerard Depardieu, exposed himself in the plane's isle and proceeded to urinate in front of God and all the passengers. Can you only image the hysteria he caused? She said the passengers projected a mixture of laughter and moans of total disgust. The moral of that story is "never drink at an airport bar before you board your flight because you cannot use the plane's bathroom until in the air". I hate to reiterate but, again, HUMAN, no matter how famous or talented, your bladder does not give a hoot! Jean Renard

Nanbert said...

Jean Renard....As an "elderly" lady with a capricious bladder, Depardieu's dilemma sends chills up my spine. But, being a male, he at least had the OPTION of using the aisle!

haha...just thinking...he should have used the "barf" bag!

Mi Re La, thanks so much for posting all the links to the video interviews – just fantastic!!!

Dee R Gee, Adam has said in the past that he loves Australia and this time he tweeted “Australia has been a dream!” so I think he’ll include Australia in his solo tour, as he’s done previously.

Sue, the situation with your back sounds beyond grim with so much pain and anguish attached to it. I’m sure we’ll all be pleased to hear you’ve had an appointment with a spine doctor so that hopefully, he’ll know how to help you and then healing and recovery can commence.

Jean, I haven’t heard “Thinking Out Loud” but I’ll check it out on YouTube. The ballad I was referring to is called “Perfect” which has become a very popular first waltz song at weddings.
Gerard Depardieu – was he actually allowed to remain on the flight after that? If he was, imagine having a seat next to him although he was probably sitting in first class.

Nanbert said...

Everyone...off topic... I was at Amazon purchasing my copies of "Velvet", and I discovered an Adam Lambert DVD entitled "Off The Beaten Track- Adam Lambert". Written on the side was the titles of videos of various songs Adam sang on many different shows/appearances....like "Titanium", "One more Time", "Believe"....and even the song Adam sang at his High School graduation.

I've heard nothing about this, and assume this is not an official Adam Lambert DVD. I think all the videos on it probably were transferred from Youtube.

Has anyone else seen or heard about this before?

Sue Smith said...

Thank you Rosemary I hope so to. It's not just my back. The back thing is greatly affecting my legs causing extreme cramping.
I have another appointment pain doctor 25th of March it may be after that the spine dr. They take their time doing things at this pain dr. I hope something gets better. it's very depressing. My back has gone out on me completely twice in the last 20 years where I could not walk at all and I was in the hospital. I'm just hoping that doesn't happen again.thank you for caring.
Nanbert yea Adam has never mentioned that DVD. It sounds like either RCA doing it to make money still off Adam or that place where he did some studio work years ago. The same one that put a DVD out on him after Idol and another right before the Tresspassing album. Remember the hell he had there. RCA put out the best of Adam Lambert after he left RCA doubt they got any permission from Adam. He made those songs when he was with them. But these songs and appearances, they really should have had no permission for. It also could be WB his last record company.
I think if it was Empire doing it Adam certainly would have told us. He may not even know about it. Just guessing but I just highly doubt Adam put it out. He been concentrating on Velvet.

Dee R Gee said...

Nanbert, it sounds to me like those videos were taken from YouTube by somebody who strung them together and made a CD. I guess it's legal???? But I'm sure Adam is making no money from it.

Nanbert said...

Sue and Dee R Gee....that's what I thought. But I'm usually the last person to know, since I only get my "Adam news" here...and I don't remember anyone mentioning it before.

I guess it's legal...but seems a bit shady if Adam is not getting a share of the profits. It's also tacky that they put it out just when "Velvet" is being presented for pre-sale, and probably will capture some of those Adam fans.

However, I love/visit a lot of those videos of Adam on youtube, and have to admit that a DVD of them would be nice to have....IF they are good quality.

Honestly, I have always wished Adam would put out an AUTHORIZED DVD of some of his best live performances....like the ones on the DVD we're discussing. I came SO CLOSE to buying it while I was on Amazon...but felt that would be greatly overspending, since I was already purchasing 4 "Velvets" (for me and family members) and a copy of "Playmobil: The Movie" which is available now, too. (Too bad the movie wasn't more successful!)

Well... if anyone does buy that DVD, let us know what you think of it, i.e. the quality, etc.

Dee R Gee said...

I do love all those videos on that (apparently) sort of bootleg CD. Adam's vids are always amazing.

If anyone is interested, I have a short diversion for a song I love a lot. First, I love that line in "Roses" when Adam sings, "You put your hat on the windowsill." It reminded me immediately of one of Joe Cocker's best songs, "You Can Leave Your Hat On." It's so bluesy and sexy and growl. Cocker at his best. I'd love it if Adam would sing it as a cover.

There are plenty of versions of it on YouTube. The "official" one, of course, but there are lots of live performance versions, too. Cocker sang it for many years during his career.

Check out YouTube. I just watched the "official" one and then a live performance one from Dortmund. That song makes me need a cold shower. LOL

Sue Smith said...

I love Rose's I need to really stream it. I will check that song out DRG.
The spine Dr. Just called me I have appointment the 26 march. Hope can change pain doctor to the 26 to have one on 25. It's 70 miles to these drs.

Just glad I'm going to see the spine dr.
We need the disc from the MRI like dvd.
Hope I can get from the hospital they have to have that.

Mean't of course to say, I hope the Paris concert is the ONLY concert cancelled, however I don't understand why a venue of over 5,000 capacity should be cancelled , whereas one for 4,000 would be ok ?? crazy!! but hopefully after all the 'frenzy' dies down, they will be able to reschedule for a later date.
I'm sure the concert in Vegas will go ahead, it really will be amazing for Adam to have a small residency there, wish I could get to that one, but not this year, will have to stick to the few shows I've booked for the 02 London, and just have to keep fingers crossed that this awful virus 'burns itself out' before too long.

Rosemary White said...

I've heard the Coronavirus will get worse in April/May. :-(((

Angeladam said...

Rosemary yes I've also heard that, hope it gets less after it has 'peaked' in Apr/May then, just heard that lots of other rock bands have cancelled heir tours mainly in Japan and S Asia, so still fingers crossed for later in the year.

Dee R Gee said...

We would sure hate to see Adam have to cancel those Vegas shows. Getting those shows is a real feather in his cap. Hope the shows do go on and the fans can keep their plane reservations, etc. It's a real pain to reschedule both for the artist and for the fans.

Rosemary White said...

Just as well QAL did their Asian concerts before the Connavirus took hold. Otherwise, they would've had to cancel or reschedule them.

Nanbert said...

I know...since they travel so much...with so many people in their tour...that QAL must be quite worried about the Coronavirus. Especially since Brian and Roger are in the most "at-risk" age group. I hope this scare won't last long enough to affect the next leg of their tour...or Adam's solo tour.

Hope this coronavirus outbreak dies out quickly. Trump was announcing (erroneously) that it would die out in the spring, with the arrival of warmer weather....like the flu. But officials in the CDC and other health experts say that there is no truth in that, because it's too new, and we don't have enough information to make any such judgements... in fact, the truth might turn out to be just the opposite. It might never end up being seasonal at all!

So everyone, be careful and stay safe!

I also watched QAL tonight again in their performance of the 22 minute Australian Fire Fight which re-enacted the 1985 LIVE AID concert. Adam was so amazing and his mega talent was stunning! Mi Re La/Glamberts....I wonder if the girl in the "hot" photo with Adam is the dancer from his "Glamnation" tour....Brooke Wendle(?).... looks like her.

This coronavirus is messing up everyone's lives! My grandson was in Spain on a student exchange plan from the Univ. of Pittsburgh for this sememster....his last. Due to the virus, he was abruptly called back to the States, and just arrived home last night! Evidently, the Univ. was afraid that he would be stranded in Spain, if the outbreak got so bad that flights would no longer be allowed from overseas. He is broken-hearted! Now he and Pitt have to scramble to figure out how to make it still possible to complete the studies he started in Spain in order to graduate this spring!

Rosemary White said...

The Coronavirus will certainly mess up your life if you become gravely ill with it and die.

Nanbert said...

Just finished a long telephone conversation with my grandson. He says that the University told him to self-isolate himself at home for two weeks....so I won't actually see him until that time is over. He still doesn't know how the University will arrange for him to complete the proper studies in order to graduate on time at the end of this semester.

He says about students exchanged in Italy---flights from Milan were not allowed into the USA.. Thank goodness he got back IN before all foreign flights are shut down!

Nanbert said...

Rosemary....how sad for Italy!....and all those people suffering with coronavirus inside and out! I realized that I might have sounded a bit callous while describing my grandson's return from his exchange program in Spain....because there are so many worse tragedies happening all over the world due to this pandemic! Many families are even unable to visit a sick and dying relative under quarantine!

Jean Renard said...

Nanbert, your concern for your grandson is not at all callous. You were simply describing how the Coronavirus has affected your family. In my community here in South Florida, many of the residents are totally wrapped up in their concern for their children or grandchildren that are in overseas' study programs. The universities will work it out for them with online programs. I have met some of these young people and they are already set up with online classes. I was worried sick about my own daughter because she travels all over the world in her job but, she made it back to her home in Jerusalem, Israel, and now Israel is on lock down - all tourists had to leave and no more tourists are allowed in until it will be safe. It is only normal to worry about our own situations. We really don't sit and think about all the thousands of people that died from the flu in the 2019-2020 season right here in the United States. My neighbor died from the flu on Monday night and he was not old. We just all need to be strong and even though this is a very rough time and may be around until a vaccine is produced, I think we will all be affected one way or another, even if it is only through our children or grandchildren's college educations being disrupted. Stay safe and healthy, all of you Glamberts. Stay safe, Adam. Jean Renard

Now Trump has banned all flights into the US from Europe except the UK, so hopefully that'll help improve the situation, at least in the US.

P.S.
Previous post should read "banned all flights into the US from Europe except the UK for 30 days" ....

Rosemary....banning all flights might have helped when the first news about the virus arrived from China....THAT was the time to do it! But now that is just "closing the barn door AFTER the horse is gone"....too little, too late... corona virus is here already...and spreading rapidly. Unfortunately, we've probably got months of bad news ahead here in the U.S.....the whole world does!

With schools, theatres, concerts, sports, etc. closing down, things do not look too encouraging for Adam's tour....or QAL's tour. It's a shame, but they will probably be rescheduled. Just hope none of them get sick! Hope that damn virus runs out of steam soon!

And, of course, standing on the TOP rung of prospective victims doesn't inspire much confidence in me!

Yes, the Coronavirus could go on & on.

By the way, many thanks for your advice re DIY hand sanitizer. What sort of alcohol did you use? It's impossible to buy in the shops. I read yesterday that using hand sanitizer isn't as good as washing one's hands but who knows what to believe!

Previous post - I meant "It's impossible to buy hand sanitizer in the shops" not alcohol! Mind you, I wouldn't know if it's impossible to buy alcohol in the shops or not! I never go there.
