DEEP FLASHBACK: Bustle: "Here's Adam Lambert Before He Was Famous"

We thought you would enjoy — once again, or perhaps for the first time — this wayback look at Adam Lambert before he became famous on American Idol, as presented in a 2015 post on a website geared to young women known as Bustle. It was written around the time of the release of Adam's then-new single, "Ghost Town."
Please note that, as they only posted the first of three of the "Adam Lambert Pre-Idol Moments 1999-2005" videos, we've linked the other two parts below. Also, the original Wicked videos that they originally linked are no longer available on YouTube, so we've simply added below the three Wicked videos featuring Adam that still remain, the last of which is a promotional appearance at Universal Studios Hollywood.
But, gotta say, folks, his performance of "Come To Me, Bend To Me," from a 2004 production of the Broadway musical Brigadoon, is the real standout here: Adam is simply mesmerizing! (Note that on the video that Bustle has linked of this performance, it mistakenly repeats all over again, but without sound; so the true length of Adam's performance is actually 2:45. However, it is good they chose this one as the HD sound is absolutely impeccable.)

How fantastic to see all theses videos of Adam in action, just shows what a special talent he's had from way back !!! no wonder he's the superstar he is today
These vids are a really great surprise this morning! Adam was a busy guy way before Idol. I've never that much of him in Wicked before. This is a bit more than usual. And that event where he sang with the female lead was a nice bonus. Adam has been a pro for so long. I hope he gets more acting opportunities along the way. He does have talent.
He's been quiet for quite a while. I hope he's working on something exciting. Sometimes when we don't hear anything for a spell, we get some great news!
Just saw a question tweeted for Shosh about Adam being so quiet. She replied that he is taking a short break before work starts up again next week. So there IS hope that he is working on new things. We don't know what, but it's still good news. Hope we hear what it's all about soon.
Thanks, Broddy, for the great flashbacks. I enjoy revisiting some of my old favorites of Adam, epecially those gems from the Upright Cabaret. That irresistably adorable grin at the beginning of "Dust in the Wind" will really steal your heart....every time!
After I discovered Adam on American Idol, I ferreted out everything I could find on Youtube about him. His voice was always amazing, but it is even richer and fuller now. Its beauty speaks for itself, and he doesn't need to do so many acrobatics to prove its worth to the uninitiated.
For jaw-dropping control, I suggest youtube videos of Adam's iconic performance on "Brigadoon" at the age of 22, his inhuman "My Conviction" from "Hair", and his heartbreaking "Come Home" (and all the others) from the Upright Cabaret! Can't believe he wasn't ALREADY famous by that time!!!
Of course, Adam's stage presence and actions have become much more natural, striking, electric, apt and polished through the years. He's just matured...in all aspects... to THE COMPLETE PERFORMER!
Well said, Nanbert! I like your suggestions for YouTube vids. "Dust in the Wind" is magnificent. His "Brigadoon" performance (so young) is one of the best I've ever heard. And "My Conviction" for Hair is a total hoot! I've seen several professional productions of Hair and that role is always fun, but Adam's take on it is the best! Wish I had seen him do it in person.
And I agree that as he ages, his voice gets richer and fuller and just a bit deeper. He has full control over it. He's not a sloppy singer by any means. And his vocal interpretations of the music are masterful.
Really excited to know what Shosh is talking about with new "work" being started soon.
Always enjoy watching his pre-idol work over and over again. Thanks broddy for posting these little gems! Ok guys they have a winner for a "Lunch with Adam". Her name is Maria from Alberta, Canada. Will be flying to LA next week. There was another winner picked out before Maria, the other woman was'nt checking her e-mails and Wishio sent her 9 e-mails! The deadline was August 28, but she did not respond. Wishio sent her another e-mail about regretting but went on to pick another winner (Maria). The first woman is from Australia. She wanted another chance but too late, she did'nt check her e-mails.
Apparently, the first winner said that the emails somehow went straight to her spam before she had a chance to look at them. I feel bad for you. Don't know why that happened, but it seems like Wishio did their best. Australia would be such a long way to come. Hope the new winner Maria has a wonderful time with Adam!
Dee R Gee...no wonder she did'nt see those e-mails. Kind of sad for her, guess it was'nt to be. I hope Maria will share her experience with us fans.
I can really "feel" for that first winner! I don't check my emails as often as I should either, so I can relate to that. But finding out that you'd missed a visit/lunch with Adam would be devastating!
Oh my! I don't even check my spam messages...they are usually so vile and shocking, that I am embarassed to even have them on my computer! I just delete them as fast as they turn up. How do those people even find me! I'm afraid that if I die, my family will find those awful things on my computer....and wonder, "OMG! What was Grandma DOING on the computer!"
Rumour has it he's in the UK but not sure if true or not because he'd have to quarantine for 14 days on arrival here, not sure about any QAL work at the moment as sadly Brian is quite poorly again, we'll just have to wait and see.

It’s believed Seven is also in talks with US hip-hop superstar Usher, who acts as a coach on the US version of the show, as well as Queen frontman Adam Lambert and Aussie songbird Jessica Mauboy.
