The razor cuts and eye glam - OMG - Adam, what are you doin' to us???? The voice would be enough but then we get........more, every performance! Old Randy quote: "when you got it, you got it and baby, YOU got it!!

OMG Anony at 11:33 - I LITERALLY JUST LISTENED TO RANDY SAY THAT - I have iPod in my ears as I'm working around today - playing some Lambert videos from American Idol w/ the Judges comments... and just took a break to check out what was up on 24/7, and I had only minutes ago listened to Randy make that commnet - was at the end of "Black or White"! I do fiercely love me some Adam Lambert post American Idol, obviously :), but man those AI performances do still make me feel good too! I have them on my iPod traditionally - but every now and then I go on YouTube and play some AI performances w/ the judges comments just for kicks, lol.

Wonder if others will agree but I find Adam's dancers distracting -- especially the taller girl in front. They are all dressed differently and their movements are often independent. They are all such good dancers and doing such interesting moves, it's like they compete with each other AND WITH ADAM, God forbid! I don't want to be distracted from Adam's face or clothes or movements or VOICE. He is a unique show unto himself. The band complements him tastefully. The rest seems overkill Caboret or mini-Ziegfeld Follies

Distracting??? no way ...i have my eyes only on adam and nobody else, for me dancers works well and NOBODY can compite with Adam, He is a showman with dancers or not.

huh What Dancers!!! lol

Let's the dancers are ruining his show. We diehard fans will like anything Adam does, but he's going to lose some borderline fans and not get new ones with these dancers. They are worse than boring because they bring out the worst in Adam on stage. He just doesn't move the same or express his songs the same. Their movements don't make me feel anything but confused and annoyed. They don't even express the music in a meaningful way. I know they're his friends, and this is nothing personal (I'm sure they are great people/friends), but his fans deserve better.

I, too, am really disappointed in Adam's performance due to him hiring the dancers. It pulls his whole show down to another level. It's not professional and more practice isn't going to do the trick. It's just not good. It's a shame.

Adam had dancers with him? I only saw Adam.

Anonymous said...

I like the dancers. I think they give him a context, 'ya know what I mean?

Anonymous said...

oh, and I forgot to say, some of my younger relatives, teenagers, who are not uber diehard fans btw, also like the dancers, just FYI to add to the discussion. I wonder if a lot of the teenagers like the dancers, hhmm food for thought - would be great if so, in my humble opinion... Lambert needs to keep getting them on board to really sell some albums IMHO. Anyway, just FYI

The dancers are REALLY GOOD-not boring sooooo..they really DO showcase Adam even more so (If that is possible). Everyone has an opinion about them-mine is they are really great!

I like the dancers too, I like it when Adam dances in time with them, it looks good. Wouldn't want them on every song though. And its good to see they got some different outfits.

I don't have any problem with the dancers. I didn't notice them much lol. I only focus my attention on Adam most of the time...

I don't think Adam has this dancers because they are his friends. Adam is a professional and so are the dancers. Having dancers is a good idea because no matter how good Adam is (and he IS good) a long big show like the ones he expects to give during the tour needs dancers, lights, lasers, and more to keep the full attention from the audience.

In my never to be humble opinion (and yes, the rest of you, I do get one) the dancers are not in sync, they are distracting to the audience, they don't add to what we want to see our Adam do and a couple of times Adam had to turn his head to see where they were so he could step into line with them. They should NEVER cause him to be distracted on stage. Not professional at all. They dance but must stay out of his way at all times
I don't hate them, I just don't like them. Good on ya my three anons mentioned above. WOOT

LOVE IT !!!!!!

I agree with Anon May 16, 4:52 pm....
Though my eyes were mostly glued to Adam(he looked great and his voice sounded amazing). Adam likes difference in everything so obviously his dancers have somewhat different costumes (and I like it) plus they can dance and adam is 29, he's young ladies and I think it's fun to have the dancers up there dancing with him(and not against him!). Honestly, I wonder how old are the people complaining about the dancers(this was a POP show also, I reckon)because I have a feeling the younger(including straight boys-there are girls dancing..lol) audience will like it..just food for thought..

I feel Adam is an Uninhibited performer, raw, sexually expressive, sensual and a free spirit. The dancers RESTRICT ADAM from total free expression, making the performance too controlled as he tries to remember his dance moves. Adam will ALWAYS perform at he best when he can be out of body expressive and creative!!! That is what we all fell in love with!! I hope to see all that on tour,it's what I've been salivating for all year. To see Adam in the uninhibited raw emotional performance!! Sorry Adam, but you don't need the dancers just YOU!!

anon May 16, 4:58PM,
You are dead on!! Everything you said is so right! Adam sometimes looks confused by what the dancers are doing when he should be doing his thing and they should be following him! Not the reverse. The dancers are right on top of him. They need to back away and give him space. Also I would like to see them in some real sleek consumes, professionally glittered hair-do's. He is always over the top with his dress. This would add so much to the presence of the dancers. I also think they need more practice and perhaps additional coreography as well as the help of the hair stylist. All of this would add to the show. This is my opinion. No harm intended. Adam is my whole world as he is to most all of you. I hope this to be constructive criticism. (I have tickets to the show when it comes to my town, CAN'T WAIT!!!)

I love what you say.
All Adam needs is him and his band.

I just rewatched if I had you, and I didn't feel anything from that performance. I know it's because there was too much going on. Even when Adam came out to touch people's hands he was rushing to get in line with the dancers and he's just not as raw. It's just no good.

Anon 11:07 above me: TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!

I think the true test of Adam and the dancers will be on the Glam Nation tour and the reaction of his audience. Most of his dates seem to be sold out so obviously his fans are anxious and excited to see him perform. It just seems that for most musical artists now, having dancers on stage is a given. In some cases it is to detract from the performer who really cannot carry a live show. We know Adam's talent is a given as proven by the acoustic and unplugged versions from his album. So let's give our boy a chance on tour and see what happens. He's new to this solo touring and might need to work out some issues with the dancers and their compatibility with his performances.

I totally agree with all of the 5 posts just above me. When Adam first said he wanted dancers, I had visions of Michael Jackson's newly jobless FANTASTIC dancers and got excited about Adam + dancers. But, even though these dancers are his friends and I am glad he has his friends around him, they are simply not very good. I am a dancer and dance teacher, so I am probably more critical than most. But I honestly agree with all the negative posts about the dancers on this page.

I want to think positive though. So to all of us who seem to agree on this: lets all visualize Adam with FABULOUS dancers and/or it all somehow working out REALLY WELL so that Adam is at his BEST + Happy too!

:)

p.s. oops....the post just above mine wasn't there when I wrote mine, so the "all 5 posts just above me" is off the mark.

Adam didn't connect with the audience. It's funny. There's an Adam the entertainer rock god superstar that blows mind and makes me scream icon and there's an Adam the cabaret pop star that tries too hard and bores me NS Mkwa mw acream 15 minutes of fame. He sang great at Wango Tango, but he was more the cabaret pop star that doesn't connect with the audience.
I just hope Adam always does what makes him happy whether I like it or not.

Yes, fantastic dancers like Michael Jackson's old dancers would be great!

ohhh i feel this critiquing kind of hurts...guess i have a hard time listening to any criticism of adam's art.

i think the "crawl" under the jumbotron was distracting as well as those lurid green arcs overhead, but not the dancers. i was fixated on adam's voice, face and well, those hot harem pants... more than anything else. i love the dancers and think they add some juicy wild abandon, my opinion, for what it's worth. thank you adam!

I thought the crawl under the jumbotron was distracting, too. It was tacky.
I didn't see any wild abandon in the dancers. They don't seem to be feeling what I'm feeling when Adam performs.
I didn't like his show, but his voice was fantastic.
