Before kicking off his national tour Friday at the F.M. Kirby Center, Adam Lambert stopped by The Mall at Steamtown to meet and greet 97 BHT listeners and chat with "The Ralphie Radio Show" about the "Idol" finale controversy, the upcoming tour, and his new single, "If I Had You."

In an interview with “The Ralphie Radio Show”, Adam Lambert elaborated on his absence from the season finale of “American Idol”, shedding more light on why he didn’t appear or perform on the show with other “Idol” alums.

“I didn’t skip a rehearsal because I wasn’t invited to a rehearsal,” Lambert reiterated, posting a similar message on his Twitter account. The AOL blog Popeater claimed “Idol” producers scrapped Lambert at the last minute because of an alleged no show, which the singer is vehemently denying. “There was nothing to skip.”

While both Lambert and his camp have issued statements, “Idol” is silent, perhaps fueling any other speculation as to what happened. But the former runner-up believes there’s no need for the show to speak on the subject.

“It wasn’t a big deal, there was nothing to it,” Lambert dismissed. “They invited their winners to sing to Simon (Cowell) and then I think a last minute decision was made that the people that were in the audience, that were past contestants would join. So it was kind of like this last minute thing. That’s why I wasn’t there, because I didn’t know… it wasn’t a slight at all, it was a last minute decision and I was really busy rehearsing for my tour.”

Lambert confirmed that he was also sick; however it was tour preparation that kept him from the show.

The tour kicks off June 4 in Wilkes Barre, PA – and the singer says the start in Northeastern PA was semi-calculated.

The rules are differend for Lady Gaga because she's catholic.

Honestly, when you watch the divas perform they are far from 'family friendly' and thats OK and yet Adam Lambert is restricted simply because he is a guy! It's total double standards! Way to go Adam for always standing by your beliefs...love you so much for that! Such an admirable trait!

Madonna has done the same in music as Gaga and everyone thinks it's fine. So catholic church must be very free minded. In my country Madonna is nowadays called as mother of all cougars.

Now Miley Cyrus supposedly kissed a girl in a video in the UK wearing black feathers{ like Adam in the past.}I have to laugh, because when she was a mentor on Idol she said that Adam wasn't her type, although her video sure has a similiar vibe of FYE. lol funbunn40

Miley Cyrus needs help! She can't sing and she can't dance and she surely ain't pretty. She's too young to be doing the things she does on stage just to garner attention. What the hell were Billy and his wife thinking of to let a 17 year old get her own home. I guess you can see by now that I don't care for her at all. The first question ever asked of her about Adam, she replied: "He's not my type. I don't like glitter." Guess what Miley, you're not his type either. haha

Miley kissed a girl? LOL. I'm shocked and surprised considering she's from Disney and is a very very religious Christian girl. I think she wants to shed her disney image and become a gay icon.
