I don't know who Wesley Strick is,but I loved what he had to say about Adam...he so eloquently put into words what so many of us feel...he definitely GETS IT!!! Glitterglasses
@Anon 1:12 PM - Ditto.
Finally a man who GETS IT, loved listening to him, so eloquent & expressive in his words!
About Adam: "...nothing HE seems incapable of doing as a singer..." and about the GNT dancers: "they paid homage to his GODLIKE ROCK BEAUTY..."
GGD Gal, getting my daily dose of AFRGL!
WOW, Wesley Strick was so totally "right on" with his assessment of who Adam is. I got the wholeness of his treatment of the man and his music. Wesley also gave me a new appreciation of just how effortless Adam's performances are. Thank you for renewing my enthusiasm as an older admirer, without degrading the experience.
Sorry, meant @Glitterglasses 1:12 PM - did not notice yr tag...GGD Gal
Strick gives such great insight into the uniqueness of Adam as a performer. His perspective as artist and male is particularly gratifying for us fans to hear because it validates the immense talent of Adam, that its impact includes more than eros, but thanatos without the neurosis, because of its mostly celebratory aspect.
I also enjoyed this interview from someone who has been in the industry and knows talent when he sees it. He still seems somewhat puzzled by the affect Adam has on us, but that's ok cause we are too sometimes.
I can't find this video on youtube so I can favorite it. Can someone help me out?
Also, when I went looking, I found a video where "UsefullyAwesome" mashed Adam and Miranda Lambert together. I felt compelled to comment in light of the Grammy fiasco.
"If more men had the sensitivity to love and show compassion like Mr. Lambert, then Miss Lambert wouldn't have anything to sing about. She advocating violence (however well deserved) and him advocating love and acceptance is a mightly contrast indeed. She (advocates violence) is slated to unseat Taylor Swift as the County darling this year and he (advocates love) is still being snubbed for being himself. Something is terribly wrong with this picture. Wake up America!!!"
Can I get an Amen!?

Amen!
@justpeachy, amen sista! @GGD GAL, you posted exactly the first words that came out of my mouth upon hearing this interview - finally, a man that gets it!!!!!!!!
AMEN to the nth degree, Peachy! Thanks for posting! Appreciate Wesley Strick's comments too. Being a screenwriter, hopefully he'll keep Adam in mind. Adam indeed is a natural, making his performance second nature and seemingly instinctive, even tho' we know he is well prepared and technically at the top of his game. He exudes confidence because he knows what he wants and what he's doing. Glad it also is being recognized by someone in the entertainment business. funbunn40
I'm thrilled when someone can meet Adam for the first time so to speak and have an unbiased opinion. He actually listened to his album, went online, saw the Adam on tour and got the whole picture of who Adam is. I agree with everything he said. Adam is a natural, he's not acting, he's feeling the music which let's all of us feel it the same way. And his voice is so clear and beautiful like Adam himself. He sings effortlessly and from the heart. He is confident not from a cocky place, but from the experience of knowing when it is right. This makes everyone comfortable in his presence. Adam let's us into his world and we are elated to be there. He is pure happiness!

Nice interview from a unique perspective. Thanks.
Too bad I'm deaf and he emphasizes the words at the last part of the sentences. Would have loved to HEAR what he said, since I don't lipread.
In other words, TUTV. Turn up the volume.
@justpeachy Amen!
You find the video on YouTube if you click the YouTube logo on the down right corner on the video here.

He did such a great job of puting into words so much of what I feel for Adam and his music.
3:57 just turn up the volum and listen. This is really great.
great clip
Loved Mr. Strick's insightful perspective on what makes Adam so special. Only thing that ANNOYED me was interviewer (Juneau Xena?) asking the age discriminating question whether he found it "CREEPY" that baby boomer women were passionate fans. HOW OFFENSIVE!! What's creepy about older women appreciating a gifted artist who happens to be an amazing performer? Are we supposed to sit at home and knit while listening to old Frank Sinatra records? I'm in shock by her lack of awareness and false impressions 55+ women in the 21st century. Interviewer obviously doesn't understand "The Meaning of Adam Lambert".
Anon 4:46, they answer that very question over on their blog.
Wow! Mr.Strick is truly an intellect and obviously a very sensitive human being. This interview was extremely interesting coming from a professional in the business and an artist himself. It was so unbiased and wonderful that he could appreciate Adam, the unique performer, on so many levels. I don't think I've ever heard another critique of Adam as well spoken as Mr. Strick's. I truly hope Adam gets to hear this interview because I think it will make Adam's heart overflow with happiness that someone like Mr. Strick, a credible individual in the industry, speak so complimentary of Adam and his natural talent and authenticity. Not to mention he thinks Adam's voice is a phenomenon....Thank you Mr. Strick for the excellent analysis of Mr. Adam Lambert.

NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!! Gurls, can't you see, this guy, he is deff on rehab! Where did they get this schizophrenic!
Ye, many people love Adam! But this interview is terrible! Are you hipnotise by somebody! Because, I don't believe, somebody can get it for real!
We love Adam! Don't need to invite people on rehab on this blog!
@anon 8:28pm You know, my sister was on rehab. When I visited her I saw the guy who reminds me this one. Probably I was to drunk to remeber it:(
Wow!! OK, I need to listen to that about 10 more times, but with the volume cranked so I can cath every wonderful word he's saying - but OMG, I absolutely loved this!
Some words that stuck with me and left an impression: confidence, sincerity, effortless, all-inclusive, eternal youth, vitality, sexuality, musicality, life-force, celebratory, unself-consciously, "he's a natural", tension with audience (sexual), erotic, unapologetically theatrical, authenticity, joyous, god-like rock beauty.
Yep - that about sums up Adam M.F. Lambert!!!! Heh, heh!

A remarkable interview. Thank you for posting.
And thanks to Juneau & Xena who interview people with great insights into Adam's music and art.

@Adam Fix
Ditto! Everything you (and he) said!!
It is SO nice to listen to someone, who has the knowledge and music background , who actually has taken the time to study, analyse, and appreciate Adam. Now, if we could just get the rest of the world on the same wavelength......Everything he said was absolutely dead on....
By the way, Juneau suggests listening to the interview with headphones as the sound is so low...much easier to hear, and we don't want to miss a single glowing and relevant word....
@4:46 PM
The question about baby-boomer middle aged women was not at all meant to be age discrimination. Juneau was merely asking his opinion. It is also very true.
For those who may not be familiar with Juneau and Xena, their blog, and the book they wrote "On the Meaning of Adam Lambert" (which I have, and love BTW), here is the link to the their website and this particular interview. From there, you can explore other parts of their "Salon". They are very insightful, well educated, and VERY supportive fans (to say the least...) of Adam Lambert and have been since the beginning. Love them! They are "us"!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had to strain to hear the interview. I had the volume turned up to the absolute max and it was still quiet but I think I heard most of it and it was interesting.
I'm very late to the party on this, but I may be more enthralled with this gentleman than AML... okay, well let me not get carried away... but yes, like someone said above - an enlightened, intelligent and sensitive human being this man is, so impressive. I love listening to someone and learning, growing myself. Gosh, I'm just flabbergasted by this, I don't even have anything inteliigent to say - but just WOW. Strick's vocabulary, cultural knowledge and references, word choices, etc. were damn sexy in their own right - the intellect I guess is was got me - geezus. He "gets it" yes, but the fact that he can so stunningly articulate and demonstrate via language that he gets it just has me taken aback, and delighted.

@MGF, I've missed your posts. Glad you're back. And yes, I agree about his intellect. It is refreshing.
OT:
Hey there Adamluv... thanks... yeah, the weather where I am in Mass has been absolutely nuts - lots of resulting stress on various levels, blah blah blah...
I've been quickly jumping onto 24/7 when I can, usually just read the headline/meat of the thread, no comments section, and rush through... more frickin' snow coming apparently... Imma cut a bitch if this dang snow doesn't stop :). Hope you are well!

I'm siding with the minority here. This man definitly seemed to be ON something. The content was okay but I was afraid he'd pass out before the interview was over.
I had a few teachers like that in college that put the whole class to sleep. Nevertheless I'm glad he liked Adam. JAK
