So exciting to hear that Adam is making his "dream album." All of his fans can't wait for the first single from this second album. Good to see him at the AI finale although if you blinked your eyes, you missed him in the audience. They should have taken a few seconds to introduce all the former idol contestants and winners seated in the audience. Poor Lee Dewyze...nothing from him or about him as last year's winner. Let's hope Scotty has better luck with his career.

Knew he was writing a lot, but this is great. Cannot wait for his new album. Should be lots of choices and we can order the international albums and get different songs. All good.

Wow! Adam is working hard to have all these songs written. Can't wait for the new album.

All I can say is that man and his music make me so happy. Such a sweetheart.

I think every album Adam creates is going to be his "dream album." They will all be mine!

Adam is so intelligent and has so much passion for his music I can only imagine how fantastic the lyrics (his specialty he says) will be. Plus we know he stated the songs will be melodic so with a golden voice like his we are in for a real treat. I'll be buying anything he puts out. I'm already thinking about starting to save money to buy tickets to the next tour!

Mia Tyler (Steven Tyler's daughter) tweeted that she was the most excited to meet Adam Lambert of all the celebrities and that he is the sexiest man ever!

i'm sure that this album will be amazing! He can put so much more of himself into it this time around, and has the luxury of time, even tho we really want him to hurry up (just a little bit??)! Sounds like its really coming along, and he must just be so thrilled to be doing everything he wants to do with his music this time around. He has so much more knowledge of what will work, what his fans want, and hoping he will have some stunningly successful radio songs this time around. And topped off by a Grammy or two or ten..

I don't want Adam to think too much of what the fans want, because last time they wanted the Acoustic EP and it didn't sell very well.

I think one of the problems was that the EP wasn't promoted much (or at all) and wasn't available in stores. There are even people (including casual Adam fans) who are just now discovering it.

But most people who bought it love love love it. (Nancy Sinatra said it was his best work)

The Acoustic EP was answering to what the fans wanted in a way that it was released at all. It was a gift for the fans, in a way, old songs in a new format and not meant to compete with new material. It didn't sell much because a) it was acoustic, b) no new material, c) they didn't sell it in Wall mart.

I don't think that "what the fans want" in the Adam#2 will have anything to do with the EP. Or what, did you think that anyone would be like "hey, fans liked the EP, so let's put re-hashed acoustic stuff to the new album too!" Yeah, no.

Anyway, I like when he says that he has about 18 songs written already. That means that they can
- pick the best ones out of many
- stuff european and japanese versions with extra tracks,
- and they still have material left to shop for movie soundtacks :)

He has said he knows what his fans like..his words. The Acoustic EP was not available in stores..Didn't help. He put out the EP because he wanted to, for all I know..I don't recall the fans demanding it. It included three cuts from his Glam Nation Live CD/DVD, also his choice to do those songs that way on tour. I bought it and loved it. I play it (the EP) for "Adam Lambert newbies" so that they may hear his voice and understand why we love him and his voice so much..then I move onto the rest of his music. I've converted many a new fan with that Acoustic EP, added to that, his song from Brigadoon, and some others, then onto Sleepwalker, and finally Fever. By then they are toast! They don't know what hit them! And sometimes I add Whole Lotta Love from Fantasy Springs.. That one is acoustic, but I dare you to think straight after that! They are basket cases after that one! LOL!!

He said he is highlighting his voice more this time, letting it be the focus, with less complicated sound/music to cover it up; less "produced": (that doesn't necessarily mean "acoustic".).also his words..because he knows that is what is people love the most about him, his amazing voice, not just his most ardent fans but the general public. In reality, Adam is doing the music the way HE wants to this time..he just said as much: its his "Dream Album". I'm sure we'll all love it!

And of course gracious as always he says he is longer so much from others in the process...
I think his and our dreams are soon coming to be true! An album with powerful beautiful lyrics highlighting his amazing voice!

Speaking of Adam's new music this is a snippet of an article about B. C. Jean, singer/songwriter he has collaborated with while writing music. This is what she says about process:

BC Jean interview: Beatweek 2011 Rising Star dishes on everything

“Every day is different,” she says of how she’s been spending her time of late. “That’s the best part for me because I’m major ADD girl.” In her alone time, she paints. The results, which she’s willing to show off, reveal a hidden secondary talent. And she’s been doing co-writing sessions with labelmate Adam Lambert for his upcoming album, a process she’s tried previously with other artists without much success. This time, however, might be a different story. “I really dug this collaboration because I feel Adam and I are really similar in a lot of ways. So we really got along and became a little friendly off of it. I have no clue if any of the songs will make his record, but there’s one in particular that we both love.”

@Glitzylady

thanks for sharing about the collab with BC Jean. I hadn't heard of her before and checked her out on youtube. I like her sound and songs. It will be interesting to see what she and Adam came up with together.

Hi there, Voice of Patience, Half of my North Star! Wow!!!! You've been our most precious reporter, always so well informed about everything... and sharing (thanks God!) with us. Thank you so much for the thousand of things I've learnt from you these past 4 months!
And guess what? I have a question, this is driving me crazy: last Saturday I heard FEVER playing in a (believe it or not!) chinese store, very well sung by some male singer with a very nice voice, but I didn't recognize him as sweet Adam at all, not because of the noise around me, but because it was not him for sure, I'm pretty positive when I say it was not my Diamond Boy (unfortunatelly!). I tryed to «discover» who was singing but the chinese guy in charge almost doesn't speak Portuguese or English, I barely understood it was a pirate CD, some kind of homework recorded here and there with no information on it. Can you tell me WHO the hell recorded FEVER? Can anyone tell me please? Another thing: I missed the begining of the song, so I don't know whether or not the singer changed the «troubled» pronoum HE for SHE or whatever...

maybe there are many overseas fans out there like me that wanted the acoustic EP but still haven't got it. Tried ordering a few times on AO, but it would never go the final stage of paying, maybe I was doing something wrong, not to mention the shipping which is double what the EP costs. Having the GNT DVD available in HMV made it so much easier to just go and pick it up. If the EP was available in stores, it at least has the chance of catching the eye of casual or non fans, but on AO its only promoted to diehard fans.

Just read an article from popdust about Adam's poor choice in working with Ryan Tedder, saying that he did not produce any great songs in many years. I must admit that I started to like Sleepwalker ONLY after Adam put his own spin on it at the Tonight Show (Jay Leno) more than a year ago. OMG, Adam, please, please ensure that your 2nd album is great, great, great because it could define the rest of your musical career.

Anonymous said...

I read that too. A lot of people don't want Adam to succeed so write stupid articles. I love Ryan Teddar and most all one republic's songs.Don't worry Adam will have a great album#2 have faith that our boy knows what he is doing!

Actually, "Sleepwalker" by Ryan Tedder was my favorite song of FYE from day one.

Wow! That was a slightly snarky article, wasn't it?? As one of the (3) comments posted said, that article sounded rather "personal" and was directed more against Ryan Tedder than Adam of course. The article actually said that they hoped Adam would have some really great music because he is so capable of greatness. The concern expressed by the author is that RT can be rather "one note" and writes the same song over and over again, with some changes here and there..I do have to say, one of my favorite songs of his is "Halo" sung by Beyonce ... Just stunning. and of course, "Sleepwalker', especially with Adam's tweaks to it during the tour. To Adam's credit, I think he will have a lot more input this time around, both in the writing process and in the production. I think he will be able to decide if the Ryan Tedder music suits his vision for his "Dream Album". I have faith that Adam will make the right decisions to make the best piece of music he can. I would guess he has a very clear idea of what he wants this time around. Bloggers can obviously write whatever they want to, and is just one person's opinion.

Damn, I love this man and I so want this album to move him to super stardom!

I second that, magiclady. I've been telling all my sort-of-non fan friends- Just you wait, adam will be huge!!!

There are fans of Adam who've complained that the FYE album was overproduced and doesn't center his voice; hence Adam chose to release an acoustic EP. He says he listens to his fans and knows what they want. Well, I disagree with those who say the FYE album is overproduced. I absolutely love this album, such an awesome mix of songs and will always love it. I love the acoustic EP has well. However, Adam is reaching out for and to new fans so I hope he's recording songs that will appeal to many people and I have faith that he will do that. The fact that he's written so many songs already is amazing. I hope he takes his time and doesn't rush to release it because it will be well worth waiting for.
