I think the judges were a little harsh. I bet Sasha does everything that's required of her, I think it has more to do with the choreographer. The choreographers are getting too interested in telling a love story each week, and they didn't pay enough attention to giving the dancers interesting and challenging moves.
Also - Alexander was not tough enough. He didn't have the "swag" the choreographer was asking for.
Don't even ask me what I thought about Sasha's yellow eye shadow.
I also thought the choreography was not challenging enough for Sasha. Previous routines have shown her superb talent as a dancer much more. This routine, although she was very good at what was given to her to perform was not really exciting. I hardly watched Alexander at all. I only watch Sasha! Voted for them of course.
Their choreographer is new, never seen or heard of him before. (Actually there were a few new ones last night.) I think it's sad when your given a routine that's not riveting or provocative enough to make a splash. Sasha and Alexander did a great job with what they were given, it just did not translate into an epic performance. I hope she is able to survive this round. I know I voted for an hour straight. P
OT: Bonjour! Finally made it to Paris! I have been suffering from withdrawals from this site, but will have to catch up when the whirlwind is over. Wish I could get you all a souvenier but I wouldn't know where to send them. Everyone take care;) Au revior! (sp?)
Lack of scintillating choreo at play IMHO as well. I actually think Sasha had the vibe of the piece, as it was intended, down. Voted much. The Judges used to quietly, professionally, and subtley call out the choreographers in past years when they thought they didn't meet their challenges sufficiently... but I've noticed in the past two years they, the judges, are very unwilling, or uncomfortable, to criticize a choreographer's role in a less than stellar performance result. Last night, the judges did use, deeper into the program, after Sasha/Alexander, phrases like - how a choreographer brought out their dancers strengths well... etc etc, and I do think that was a subtle way of saying that Sasha/Alexander's choreog. didn't necessarily do that... but wasn't enough IMHO to mitigate the fact that they should have mentioned the choreographer's choices when Sasha & Alexander were standing there receiving their critiques originally. Sasha was a little less than on her best game last night IMHO, a have to call it like I see it, but very unremarkable choreography very much at play IMO too... and that's fine, but the judges should have been brave enough, IMO, to comment on that.
OT, I was searching the internet for funny maths chart (for a presentation) and i was linked to a site with a pie chart tittled "How people know Adam Lambert". I was like ...wut? Anyway, the chart shows ~ about 30% from American Idol, 2% cos he's a good singer and 68% from AMA.
I was disappointed with the choreography: I wish they had drawn a different dance and choreographer. : ( I also think Sasha is a stronger dancer than Alexander..Luck of the draw I guess.....
Daydreamin - Yes, on vaca and waiting on my husband to meet us. He's driving from Germany. A little timid to venture out w/o him. Never been out of the country before and it's just myself and my 2 girls. Not the best setup but will be great once my knight in shining armour arrives. It has certainly been a learning experience so far. Can't wait to do the town.
Fan4fun - Wish I could. You certainly deserve a vaca yourself. It's wonderful to know that your sense of humor and spirit is still strong after everything you've been thru. Stay bold and hang tight.
Double praise to the steady voters - this was not Sasha's fault, choreography was too simple, Alexander just does not have her flash!! Fingers and toes crossed for tonight!!
Justpeachy -I know what you mean. The time I went, I was with my new boyfriend (now my hubby) and my sister met us (coming from Belgium where she was an aupier (spelling?). She spoke fluent French which was wonderful to have.
@justpeachy, good for you! I love Paris. Probably my favorite place I've ever been.
@fan4fun,I'll fly over and pick you up in one of my private jets and take you to meet justpeachy. Then we'll both stay for a week! We'll find out where Adam stayed while he was in Paris, and get rooms there. Hope you're feeling better!
I'm just now catching up on Sasha's performance from LAST week, (awesome performance and concept) and was squealing over her t-shirt! I can't find the thread on here (watched it on youtube) but I assume there was LOTS of squealing about her t-shirt?

I liked their other routines better.
I think she may be in trouble tonight.
I agree about the choreography. Thought it was rather dull and didn't show Shasha's true abilities, but I voted like crazy!

IMHO - In my humble opinion
IMO - in my opinion
:), don't worry about it Anon 9:56am.. if you're here on this site, you're the best kind of cool ;)!
They were both so likeable when the judges made their comments and so cute afterward.
Agree Anon 10:20AM! Good point...and counts for a lot on that show I think?!
@Justpeachy I love Paris and am soooooo jealous! Are you on vacation? Check in when you can. We miss you!

I think Sasha may get a new partner after tonight because I think Alexander may go home.
@ justpeachy
Although your plane hasn't landed in Azores to give me the ride I asked you... oh, well! Enjoy Paris anyway, have fun for both of us!!!!!
Hope Sasha makes it thru tonight. If all the Glamberts voted for her, she should be OK.
I don't think Alexander will go home - I think it will be Chris. He never learned how to move his hips.

YAY,fingers and toes and votes and other good dancing weeks did the trick.

Have a blast!
