Adam's video from the movie 2012 was "Time for Miracles".

I'm not sure if I'd call it a ripoff, although there are similarities, but they are not totally similar to me. I like the scene in the FYE video.

Of course both videos are similar, they are filmed from the same director. If Britney did FYE, she would be nominated and won those award shows as well for last year.

Brit's was good but Adam's was hot jmo. sort of a rip off but that isn't brit's fault she just did what the director told her to do. She prob didn't even see FYE.

Not a complete rip-off, but there ARE similarities. Instead of seeing it as "Britney's not original, and copies Adam's videos," think of it as "Adam's video was so brilliant, it was similarily used for Britney's."

Miley Cyrus' video was called"Can't be Tamed",but it didn't sound much like FYE to me.I thought that Gaga was kinda funny..She does have guts to stay looking like that ugly short guy for the whole show..She is talented,I just think some of her former videos have been "too much,dirty,etc" & a couple even sacrileligious..anything is fair game for her,it seems.She's a complicated person.

I didn't realize that it was Ga Ga for a few minutes, didn't understand who it was, but I knew she was opening the show. I think she knew that she might have some competition with outlandish costume. She was actually clever with her choice, cuz no one else came dressed as a man. She was totally different again, with her choice of costume. She has a team of 12 people who work out what she wears.

Adam didn't invent the concept of having an underground themed video though. I hate how people compare everything.

I tried watching segments of the VMA's and it was just dreck!! I feel sorry for the young people of today. When I was young, we had the Beatles,
Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, etc. I think videos have actually ruined music -there is so much visual and no quality to the song. Just one pretend orgasm after another to the same beat ad the same 3 notes. This isn't really music. Poor Adam if he is trying to be a part of this scene - he's much too good for it.

The woman Adam is standing with is Lyndsey Parker, the one the quote at the top of the page is from. She has a column, "Reality Rocks", is Yahoo Music's managing editor, and an Adam Lambert fan. She also writes about American Idol and has always had a big soft spot in her heart for Adam. Her interviews with him are some of the best.

Adam has got to appeal to more people. Everyone knows he is gay and he can stay true and be proud but do we have to hear it all the time. He doesn't seem to attend anything but gay. He said he wasn't a poster boy but look how that's turned out. His own wasn't that proud behind him. I also heared a interview or rumor he said before his tour that he had got to the point he rather go to straight bars. Adam has outgrown the club kids and now has a class act on his arm. How many interviews have you heard Adam do where he switches the topic to "I'm gay and here's what my gay life is like"? No - the interviewers always bring it up and he responds. I don't think he is "in our face" with the fact that he's gay...quite the contrary...in interviews, he wants to talk about the music, not his sexual orientation...but answers the questions that are posed to him by the media (often on this topic).

Really cracked up at all of the people on the VMA's trying to outdo each other with their stupid outfits just to get the attention. I definitely feel there are some talented singers but they are few and far between. It has just become about how outragious you can be to get noticed. Adam seems to me to be so much more than that and I do feel for him that he never gets the praise he deserves. I watched the first 10 minutes and turned it. Gaga was just stupid and I LIKE gaga. Fans tend to bash other artists when their own favorite isn't getting all the awards, etc. It's human nature to do this and it happens all the time. I don't take it seriously. Frankly, I've caught myself doing it, too, because I adore Adam so much. It also occured to me that Adam really had no reason to be at the VMAs, other than just to be audience candy. He had no eligible videos this time around. The VMAs are typical of current awards shows. The spectacle overshadows the singing. It's what's in style now. I'd love to see Adam stand on a dark stage with just one spotlight on him, wearing a killer black tux, a tinge of make-up to bring out those eyes, and sing a beautiful song. His next song would then be a balls-out rocker showing off his incredible stage skills. It would be a welcome change from the current pop-crap approach.

Okay, other than the dark underground opening, I really don't see the comparison. She's in a dark anything goes club, much like some Ke$ha and others have done. Big whoop. However, I have never really understood why the singer gets the award for a video whose concept is developed by someone who does that for a living. In some cases the performer has the concept, but since Britney just goes out and does her half assed schtick like a zombie, I doubt very much if she had any input at all. Hence, I don't think Britney stole anyone's concept. If there was a ripoff going on, it was by the person who developed the video.

P.S. Regarding Gaga's VMA performance, that was just about the best live performance she has ever done. Over the top as usual, but that girl is a consummate performer who knocks herself out in every performance and concept. She was up there jumping on and off pianos, playing the piano, dancing, and singing her heart out, and though she was out of breath at the end, she still managed to sing on tune. On the other hand, there's Britney who lip synchs all her live performances. Who would you rather watch??? No contest.

Adam Lambert wasn't there so it came and went without a blip on my radar. I love Katy Perry though. I wish that Adam and Katy would come up with a collaboration since they share the same management now. That would be something, especially if they had some great videos like Katy puts out. Britney did have sort of a rip off of Adam's basic idea...but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Hope Adam releases a single soon and the radio this time around will play it right away. #glambertluv

Adam's gay-ness will always be part of his public persona, because he chooses to live it openly. If he hid away his private life completely, it would be a different story, but that's not how he lives his life. Makes him far more interesting, if you ask me. His long-term impact will be greater because of his open-ness. Those who can't deal with it will just have to follow other singers. Their loss.

7:29 why don't you read my post before voicing something I never said. I am not asking Adam to deny anything. He is who he is. But, can you imagine an interviewer questioning Barry Manilow about his sexuality? Respect dictates that this is not an issue for discussion regardless. Because Adam just spews everythng out there including his private life and his relationships, the media has nothing off limits. It's up to Adam to establish the ground rules. Ask me about music, concerts, the creative process, but personal questions are off limits.

Adam hasn't really made it yet in any sense of the word, so he's ready and willing to do and say almost anything to anyone who offers. If his new album is successful, I think fans will see a huge change. He will isolate himself to a greater degree. This is my opinion just as everyone as their opinion. I state it with full love and admiration for Adam and his talent.

I think if Adam has a strong single, there will be no obstacles in his way. To be honest, I didn't think the other songs were that strong, except for WWFM which did get nominated for a Grammy.
I loved the album because I love Adam but the songs really weren't what the industry is putting out right now (altho that's a whole other topic...)

Until artists have to call press conferences to announce they are straight, gays shouldn't have to do it...and until artists are labeled "openly straight," "openly gay" should never be used preceding an artist's name or occupation. Its MEDIA that makes it a big deal. And if MEDIA wouldn't keep asking the question, he wouldn't discuss it. Not because of shame but because its a non issue in his realm of reality...as it should be.

You all act like Adam never has taken ideas from something and made it his own. It's called life! You see someone wearing a shirt you like. Go to the store and buy it. No one accuses you of stealing anything from anyone, because you didnt steal anything. You saw an idea that you liked and went and made it you own. Furthermore last time I checked neither Britney or Adam directed their videos. So why does the similarity matter? If the videos were by the samr director blame the director not Britney. Lastly, don't start getting all on Britney for not writing her lyrics and not having deep enough lyrics. If I remember correctly Adam only co wrote 3 songs off his last album and not all of his songs are deep. If you all could stop being so jusgemental you would realize like Adam, Britney has her fair share of songs with meaning and believe it or not has written some of her own songs.

The similarities to Adam's FYE music video were noticed by many and pointed out when Britney Spears vid first came out...I don't think it would make any difference now to point it out to MTV. And it probably would not help Adam either at this point.

Let's hope Adam comes up with a killer new single and produces a stunning music video to go along with it..One so fabulous that we'll be seeing HIM instead of Britney on ALL of the music award shows next year.
