Adam Lambert Shares “Good News” — “I Am in Love”

"It’s been over two years since Adam Lambert first appeared on American Idol. Since then he’s been through a lot, including a hit record, a tour, and dealing with the media. With his new VH1 Behind the Music episode airing this weekend, Adam talked to OK! exclusively about some of his journey up until now.

Adam’s road post-Idol hasn’t been perfect. He shared with OK!: “I think a lot of the controversies that have surrounded my experience…. I think part of the reason why they’re controversies is because I don’t always get to communicate my point of view or where I was coming from, and I think the special really allows me to do that.”

“One of the things I find a little interesting is how much people want to focus on my sexuality,” Adam explained. “To this day, I guess, I’m starting to understand it more and more — that it’s just something that people find interesting. To me, it’s not something I think about actively. I struggled with my identity when I was a teenager, right before I came out. That was a very hard time to deal with that.

“I’ve had a couple moments in my career where there’s been some hiccups, but other than that I’ve had a pretty easy time with it,” he admitted. “And it’s funny how much people sensationalize it, especially in the media. But that’s entertainment.”

Was there anything that was off-limits in his new special? Only one thing!

“I think maybe my dating life,” Adam admitted. “I’ve tried to keep that somewhat sacred, as far as that privacy. It’s the one thing I have, you know? I think that’s not uncommon. A lot of people try to keep that private, but the good news is that I am in love, so that’s a good place to be. It’s a great time to be making music, I’ll tell you.”

Adam says fans can expect new music starting soon: “I don’t have a release date yet. Fans will be able to hear some new music in the fall. Something new is coming in the fall so stay tuned!

“With this album, I think that now that I have become a little bit more adjusted to the lifestyle, and having experienced what I have experienced over the past two years — touring and being on a tour bus and performing for fans all over the world and getting to know myself a little bit better as well — I think this album reflects that. It’s more personal I think… this album is potentially more honest. It’s a bit more of a reveal of who I am underneath the surface. I think people are very quick to judge a book by its cover.

“Hopefully this album will give people a little more insight into both my positive side and my negative side. Things that are really happy and joyful and things that are a little bit sad and haunting. ”

Aaww! That OK!Magazine interview is lovely, he's in love...and he says "it's a good place to be". Seems like a happy Adam to me. :)

He looks so serious, almost sad, in this interview segment :( We don't see him looking sad very often.

After watching this preview and the others, I pretty much knew all this about Adam. His life has been an open book overall and between his interviews, Q & A sessions and his Tweets, there isn't much that we do not know about Adam Lambert. He seems to be handling his fame and success fairly well, but there will always be moments of incorrect information and intrusion into his private life. By the way, doesn't he look extremely gorgeous during this interview? WOW! I will be watching Sunday night to see the entire show and whatever info there is about the new album.

I like all these BTM clips, lots of his music footage, can't wait for Sunday. Adam is in LOVE, he is happy and fans are happy for him. Great thing is happening.

I agree with your perception. There are couple of moments where I see sadness...or even an emptiness in his eyes. It's fleeting, but there.

But on the up side...Adam confirms he is in love in the article that Glitzylady posted! I think most of us knew that on some level anyway, but it is so wonderful to hear him confirm it.

Thanks admin. for posting this sneak peek of BTM! Glad to see good clips from Idol, showing that iconic voice for those that have forgotten or those not familiar with him. Thanks also Glitzylady for this interview and glad you didn't delete Idol words, as all is important coming from another writer and the way they portray info. I could listen to Adam all day. He has such an honesty about him that is very endearing. Entertainment Tonight asked viewers to post on their FB any celebs they would like to see on Dancing With the Stars. I mentioned Adam as it would give him some TV exposure, He'd love the costumes and he moves like a panther or a satin slinky. His body rolls would combust TV screens. It might be able to work time wise, as the album will soon be finished and a tour is a ways off. This was from yesterday's show and I clicked on "link" on their FB and found it.Just an idea of a way to see him and way for exposure.

In VH1's article about the "Do Something Awards", they mention that aside from Adam being a presenter that evening, he is also nominated for an award. What I don't get from VH1 is WHY they always have to add a caveat to anyting Adam related. For instance, after mentioning his nomination, they had to add that it was due to Adam's many fans' requests. So stupid; he's nominated because he has RAISED close to a $1,000,000 dollars for charities!!! VH1 supports Adam with a BTM show and then turns around and puts a downer on his nomination. I really don't get it.

DWTS. The stars that appear as contestants on that show are not usually currently active. Adam is in full "going forward mode". What would be great, though, would be for him to perform a song or two on results night.

Adam is very considerate,loyal and protective of Sauli's feelings and leaves no doubt that he genuinely loves him. Adam cares very much about media misinterpreting anything regarding his personal life that would cause Sauli any consternation or stress. Adam always steps up when there's any possibility of his loved ones being hurt in any way. He may let things slide regarding personal attacks on himself, but never to family and those close to him.What a guy!!! funbunn40

Of course,by now,Adam HAS watched the top last 10-12 contestant episodes of the most recent AI..He did say he had to keep catching up,but he DID do that anyway by DVRing it,then watching it when he had time.He kept tweeting that to us.

I watched the first two. Im not watching any more till the show.

This show will be great and presenting Adam the
way we have hoped for and with greater exposure to
the real Adam. Hopefully more of his current music& the amazing tour will be a focus of the show. Wish they could include Russia & Canada to
see his full spectrum, but this was taped before.
His sexuality makes him a far more interesting person and its not as harmful to his career than might be speculated. Chris & David Cook are marvelous singers but are boring! He would just
be another great, good looking singer,with bad
taste in clothes & hair! Haha.
Thrilled for Adam & Sauli & hope they have great
happiness and the media leaves them alone to live their lives as they see fit.
