I think it is Adam singing at the Upright Cafe on New years, yes it is before idol. I forget which band the song originated from.

I find those words so striking when Adam says he will find his viking on the Arctic circle, how did he know? That made me catch my breath.

The song was done by Five for Fighting band. It was written when he was on the road missing his young daughter who said these words to him over the phone.

I don't have words of my own either. So,I copy here @RandomMedley's words again:

For those who don't know the story behind this song: Adam sang this song for his friend Nick Laroche, who used it as a song for his ice skating routine...and as others above said, it was pre-Idol..It is truly one of my favorites and has been for a long time... Beautiful song and beautiful voice! Chills every time..

"Wicked Adam"
We were glued to the finale of American Idol, along with the rest of the country and most of the skating world. As it happens, Drew met runner-up Adam Lambert in Los Angeles last year; Adam and Drew are both friends with retired skater Nicholas LaRoche. We got the whole story from Nick this week.
"I met Adam when he was performing in Wicked with my partner Eric," Nick told us. "He was in the ensemble, and he was also the understudy for Fiyero [the prince]. Eric was also in the ensemble."
Wicked ran at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood for two years, and Nick, Eric and Adam became good friends. In the 2007-08 season, Nick was looking for music for a new exhibition program.
"I heard the song 'I Just Love You' by Five for Fighting on the radio, but didn't necessarily like the arrangement of it," he said. "I teamed up with Adam and the music conductor from Wicked, Brian Perry, who played the piano. We went into a private studio and recorded it. They only did the song three full times; it was amazing. Adam was thrilled when I asked him to record the song and it was so much fun to stand in the recording studio with the headphones on and listen to his wide range. I heard the 'belts and screams' first-hand. It was incredible!"
Nick has performed the program twice, and Adam came to one of the shows to see it.
"After seeing the performance, he couldn't thank me enough for giving him the opportunity to do this," said Nick.
So what is the glam rocker like in person?

"He is great -- very humble," said Nick. "I watched him do endless performances here in L.A., all for charities and benefits."
Nick watched every episode of American Idol, of course.
"It was odd to see him without his fun makeup on and the glam look he carries," said Nick. "When he would come out each week and be so conservative, it was weird. I'm used to seeing him in the glam stage like he was in the finale, when he had the crystals around his eyes, extravagant clothing, and belting those high notes that you would never think would come out of his mouth."
Because Nick is in Los Angeles, he couldn't wait until the show aired to find out what happened. He had a cousin on the East Coast text him the final result.
"When my cousin told me Kris has won, my initial reaction was 'I will NEVER watch Idol again!' Then I headed off to the gym," joked Nick.
"I don't know how this whole Idol thing works but I know Adam will be huge, and probably more so now than if he had won. I'm honored to have gotten to not only work with him on this exhibition piece, but to have seen him perform so many times."

The way Adam looks at Sauli in those pics just touches my heart. His eyes show how much love he feels for Sauli. How wonderful for both of them to have found each other.

Thank you glitzylady, I wonder if Adam and Sauli see any of these fan montages. Also at 5:30, those are very beautiful , thoughtful words to describe Adam and Sauli.

Some people come together to create more beauty in the world. I believe this is what is happening with Adam and Sauli. The odds involved of them meeting make me an even stronger believer that this was meant to be.

And talk about the odds involved of somebody capturing that first kiss.

I Just Love You...an all-time favourite of mine since almost 3 years now. His voice is pristine, crystal clear and always brings on a tear. This song has come full circle for Adam who now comes face to face with the person he did not know then when he sang this heart-warming love song. True love is a beautiful blessing.

The other attendants of BB required Sauli to answer questions of his sexuality. He said that he will never date a woman, never get children and never get married. (Well, it was 2007 and he didn't know that he'll meet Adam and fall so madly in love.)

A gorgeous couple and a beautiful video! And I must admit I had never heard Adam sing this song before, what a lovely surprise. I think it was just amazing how A & S met, S was just hanging out at his fave night club and suddenly Adam tapped him on the shoulder. If that would have happened to me, I would have fainted...lol. Lucky Sauli and lucky Adam, sometimes things are just meant to be. Aww.

So finally i got to watch this lovely video of the only couple that i've ever followed in my whole life. Don't even know what hit me that i couldn't help but be crazy about this awesome guys. Can't explain how extremely happy i am seeing them together, i mean i've never felt this way in a very long time. It's as if i'm the one who is head over heels in love, really strange but in a very good way teehee. I'm so ashamed but that's exactly how i feel when i see them together. Aww i'm totally smitten over and over again and the feeling is divine being reminded when i was in their shoes.

The song was fantastic, Adam's rendition was perfect and the video was nicely done. IMHO Sauli looks so beautiful with his long hair but to each his own. He still looks fine now. OMG they are just fabulous together! Thank you for this one 24/7 :-)

It's getting harder because other than missing Adam when i'm not here, i also miss the camaraderie in this wonderful site. I think that Sauli went to the GM concert in Helsinki. The people at the bar said that he didn't have a pass to go back stage to meet Adam. After the concert, he went to a bar. I think Adam was looking for him, he always remembers people who came to the concert. When he tapped Sauli on the shoulder, He probably asked him if he was the one he remembered. You don't usually go up to a stranger and tap them on the shoulder. I bet his first question was "do you speak English" I imagine he was smitten with Sauli"s beautiful eyes. I think it was an imediate meeting of the souls, and the rest is history.
The story of them meeting right out of the blue, didn't make sense to me, I thought there was a little more to the story, than what the owner of the bar said.

No. Sauli didn't go to Adam's concert. He didn't even know that Adam was in Finland.

Sauli has told that himself in one of Radio Aalto's interviews.

Yes you are right. It was not easy to hear on this vid what he was saying. Thank you for correcting it.

I don't think Sauli, would talk about Adam in the beginning, he didn't actually lie, he just wouldn't say. Finland is a small country, how would you miss Adam coming. He also said when the pic of the two of them showed up, that he thought it was some American custom to put your hands on his ears. He said Adam was talking about what his sign was, but he couldnt remember it all cuz he had had a couple of drinks by then. That was when he kissed Sauli. There was no way they could drag it out of Sauli, and he has since then stuck to that. Papps have tried to get an interview, and he has refused.
I love Sauli, and so happy he met Adam, in whatever way, but I don't believe everything he said about what happened in the beginning.He is a beautiful person, and meeting Adam is something that he will never share with the public. I respect him for that, plus it's a special romantic moment just for him and Adam. I think it was meant to happen, two kindred spirits , meeting. I don't think it was a planned meeting.I am sure he knew about Adam from either being on you tube or actually going to the concert. It was very carefully worded, about how he didn't have a pass to go back stage.Why would that even have come up, if he wasn't at the concert.

Dear Anon 8:50 PM I think you have been misunderstanding some things. He and Adam met and there was some pictures in one tabloid. After that in Tutka Sauli's co-worker Katri tried to ask that what has happened between Adam and Sauli and Sauli said "nothing". Katri said but there are those pictures and then she asked that is it some American custom to say hello by putting your hands on others ears and Sauli agreed and said that its weird custom because you cannot hear anything so he couldn't hear what Adam said. They speak always like that joking a lot ;) Anyway Sauli refused to told what has happened and said that let's move on and Katri had to accept that and they continue with other issues.

Now I have to go bicycling even thoug I would like to explain some things more ;)

Adam's voice its breathtaking beautiful!! I truly hope that his new album will make justice to his voice.
