USA Today's Brian Mansfield replied to someone on his site and explained that the unauthorized Adam Lambert album "Beg For Mercy" didn't sell enough copies to make the charts. The comments have been since deleted on the site.

That is great news! Anything unauthorized or not endorsed my the amazing Adam Lambert shouldn't sell. Save money everyone and buy at least two CDs of Trespassing so he can go platinum in the states this time. I love Adam's fans!
So loyal and supportive of our man. One for the good guys!

yes agree buy at least 2 of his new CDs for yourself and then loads more as gifts for people! All my friends/family will be getting Trespassing as their present this year!. LOL.

Maybe it didn't sell enough because it was removed from Amazon almost immediately and couldn't be puchased. I know someone who did make a purchased and he was notified that it had been removed and would not be forthcoming. Even Take One sold about 40,000 copies. Do people really think that someone who would buy even an unauthorized album from Adam Lambert would not buy Tresspassing? Hmmmm.

It's not about whether people would not buy both etc - the fact is that Adam is not gaining anything from this and does not endorse it!

Hmmmmmmmm...half of me says YAY! the more pessimistic half wonders will this make that lawsuit hotter for Adam?
I wish I'd taken a few law courses instead of rummaging around in 16th century English History!

Same people probably will buy Adam's album, but things just can't be done like in the wild west, without any rules.

BFM is back on Amazon and it's in the usual stores. The bottom line is that had it had been promoted/handled differently it might have been better received by fans. I saw it yesterday in Target..Still with ADAM LAMBERT in big letters with a smaller "Lyrics Written by Adam Lambert and Monte Pittman" sticker on the front. Nothing on the front or back cover to indicate "Pre-Idol" or "Citizen Vein band" before it is purchased. Still confusing to the uninformed "casual" or potential fan. I didn't choose to "hide" it but I did let the sales people at the store know this is not Adam's new official album which will be arriving around March 2012, and that it is Pre-Idol music, and it is not to be confused with the new upcoming one. I'm sure the sales people have no idea. Just in case other people ask them. Personally I also wanted to to them know why it isn't flying off the shelves.. We need to get him top promotion when his REAL new CD comes out.. At this point I choose to educate others (politely and matter of fact-ly) about what's happening in the music world of Adam Lambert. (The Amazon page does mention that it is Pre-Idol..thankfully). Perhaps others would like to do the same. And above all, I EAGERLY (TO SAY THE LEAST) await Adam's new single and album.

The first time BFM was being promoted, it was proclaiming the title track BFM as "Adam Lambert's new single" which was obviously false and misleading advertising and it seems to me (in my uneducated opinion) very strong grounds for having it pulled from Amazon right there, temporarily, until that was corrected.. It is no longer being promoted as such. I hope the lawsuit is settled quickly and quietly (I suppose fat chance since it involves Adam..nothing is ever quiet when the media get hold of an Adam Lambert story) and will be a lesson learned by those who wish to reap the $$$$ from Adam's own hard work, but without his at least begrudging okay. Of course the publicity alone from that could lead to more sales of the album...Who knows. I get why they released the music: because legally they could, apparently, and he's a star now...but ethically, the way it was done was sadly lacking in my opinion. Suing Adam seems to be their not-so-subtle way of trying to besmirch and discredit his name and career, and therefore downplay his statement that he did not authorize the release of the album (and they are obviously trying to recoup any perceived monetary losses while it was pulled from Amazon). The wording of the lawsuit included things that had nothing to do with their actual litigation. What goes around, comes around, in my opinion. Karma can be a bitch.

I hope the bitch bites them! ^o^

ok how in the helk do you vote in that Adam for olympic singer poll? It looks like a big hit trap to me but I'll bite, just can't figure how to vote.

@Glitzlady. Very well written and yes Karma is a bitch!

I recalled having seen the same name in Amazon in association with "Beg for Mercy" as who had commented to the USAToday person (Eric Mayron). Based on the chatter in reviews / comments of reviews in Amazon, he seems to have been involved in producing "Beg for Mercy".

Also wanted to add to my comment about how we might wish to approach salespeople in stores (or DJ's at radio stations) re BFM,and of course the Adam's official new music soon to arrive. It goes without saying that in order for Adam to get the best placement and promotion in the retail stores and radio play when his new TRESPASSING album (YAY!!!) comes out, it's REALLY important to be respectful and calm, yet informative to the salespeople/owners/DJ's re the BFM album in our "re-education" process that might be needed and then the request process later on. Fans have been known to be overly zealous and have the opposite effect: Adam's fans are known to be very enthusiastic in our support, but we don't want to turn people off either, in this case the very ones that Adam needs to have his music be played, promoted, and listened to...Strategy is everything... ; ) Never too soon to think about getting and keeping that new music out there. When the GNT LIVE DVD/CD came out, I checked Target, Best Buy, and Walmart to be sure it was stocked and being RE-stocked..At one I went to, it had not been reordered after the initial release, all had been bought..so I nicely asked that they re-order..which they did. And continued to stock it. An Adam Lambert fan's work is never done. And he is SO worth it!

yes, apparently this guy is something to do with the album, which is why Mansfield reply of 'maybe YOU should have brought a couple of thousand more' was perfect.
knowing it sold so few is double edged, hopefully it means that the fans got the word out well enough to stop everyone buying it, and not that its because no one remembers him...
@e3fan, I heard Take One sold around 100,000.

It does show Adam's army (new acronym AA, lol) is a force to reckon with. Comparing a few hundred thousand copies of Take One sold to 5 to 6 million worldwide sold for FYE...is truly miniscule, chicken feed.

I did like some of these songs because they were on youtube. These guys should of been truthful and said it was pre idol music and citizen vein material but instead tried it as Adam's new music what idiots. Can't wait for Adam's album Trespassing and I know a little eager but next tour!!!!!!!!!

"Maybe it didn't sell enough because it was removed from Amazon almost immediately and couldn't be puchased. I know someone who did make a purchased and he was notified that it had been removed and would not be forthcoming."

That's a bunch of bull crap. #1 those who purchased a copy were told they could be put on a list for future updates. When it was put up again everyone got about 60million emails from Amazon telling people it was up again. It was only down for 2 weeks and up again much longer. Your theory doesn't even remotely fly.

I purchased BFM. Yes, I'm bad. I just wanted my own copy of "Pop Goes the Camera" a great song, and also "Crawl Through Fire" a real blast. Sorry. I know you all want to kill me but I couldn't resist. I purchased my copy from Amazon. They never told me it had been removed, just sent it to me.
