I am crying my eyes out right now. I just read that Kelly Clarkson will be singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. When will Adam be given such opportunities? I love Kelly and her voice but it's just not fair! She has sung the National Anthem numerous times at sporting events. It is so blissful, yet so painful to be an Adam Lambert fan sometimes. Right now I absolutely HATE the USA.

Just gotta love this guy. So honest and articulate, as always. Am really impressed how he describes the 'Finland Incident', takes ownership for his behavior, has learned from it and, in particular, realizes he's a role model for young people and definitely doesn't want to send the wrong message. Wish him (and Sauli) all the best with the new, improved healthy lifestyle.

@8:31PM Ahhh, don't cry! Let's think positive. Adam is a world star and he might sing with Queen at 2012 Olympic. How about it? Let's throw that in the universe for it to come true!

Excellent interview, hope alot of people listened in. I didn't really think Adam would sing the SPB this year so I am very glad it's Kelly. We had alot of fun with that twitition thing too!! Never a dull moment around here.

@8:31- Your not alone- i feel the exact same way, so much for that twitter petition- It just never seems adam can catch a break on the big events in this country (I'm talking about all the award shows that he never get to perform also. Heartbreaking, adam would of been perfect for superbowl!!

Anonymous said...

Another great interview! He really knows how to carry on an interesting conversation. So articulate. What is there to not love about him? He has every positive quality that anyone could ask for. Beautiful on the inside and beautiful on the outside, plus that amazing voice!

Anonymous said...

Glad he broke the ice with the Finland incident, all around great interview.

Adam so articulate as usual! Loved the interviewer as well - proud to be a Canadian.

I think Adam will eventually sing the national anthem at the superbowl, maybe next year. I do like Kelly cause she can really sing. The Olympics with Queen would be so amazing. Hoping for that. Loved Adam's interview! It makes me realize once more why I love him so much!!

Guys, also go to Virgin Radio website and give them tons of hits for their support. Write your comments to thank them, too. Check it here:

Another radio station which also interviewed Adam today and I believe it is a number one radio station in Canada. Please go to the following link to give the station some hits. Click on artists tab and then click on Adam's profile. It take a couple minutes for the interview to upload. Just be patient! OK here is the link:

Well ... if ADAM couldn't be the one to sing at the Super Bowl ... then I'm glad it will be Kelly instead. Maybe next year ... who knows.
LOVED this interview!!! ADAM as always was his same sweet .. charming ... articulate self ... owning up to his mistakes & turning them into something Positive to build on. Thank you for posting this or I would never have heard it otherwise ... really appreciate your thoughtfulness!! Love 'n Light

There's another radio interview with Chum FM (found it on adamquotedaily). Adam continues to be articulate and sounds so very excited about his new "baby". His words = album. :-)

Also, Byron Cook listened to 6 songs from Trespassing, names them! and comments on each! He raved about each one!!

About the Superbowl: it was a long shot (IMO) for Adam to be asked to sing..and probably wouldn't happen based solely on the online petition, although I loved the thought of him singing this year. I signed it. Even Adam's Dad Eber signed it.. I'm sure Adam was aware of it and was most likely impressed that his fans would wish him to do so, and support him in that way.

I'm guessing the Super Bowl Committee had a plan in the works anyway, for some time and finally got around to announcing it today..What really got this petition started was the random tweet from the committee asking if Adam would be there in his place of birth. As we know, Adam is not a big sports fan, but I am guessing he'd be up for it if asked. I heard on twitter earlier today that there is possibly a connection with "The Voice", and Kelly, as well as Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, all with connections to that show, will be there in some capacity.. I have no idea if that is actually true..but its a theory. I would bet tho that Adam will be asked one day to sing the National Anthem at some major event. Give him a couple of more years for the US to really "get" what an amazing voice he has, to catch up a little bit, and maybe welcome him a little more. It will happen. : )

@8:31pm....Aww I feel your pain! I knew it was a longshot. I think people in "the biz" still think he needs to pay his dues before taking on a gig this big. But I know the day will come!!

A small part of me wonders if the fact that he's gay plays a factor? I mean, that would be terrible, but have they ever had a gay singer sing the Natl Anthem at a Superbowl? It would have been epic (heavy sigh).

Also glad he talked the "Finlind Incident". I was thinkin he'd explain it on Ellen too. He's so eloquent, you can't help but luv him!

Can't wait for Leno n Ellen!!
Happy AdamLuvr in Tx :)

Here's the article from Byron Cooke that lists the titles of 6 songs from Trespassing and the description of each!!!

@Anon !0:12 PM
I posted Byron Cooke's blog about 6 of Adam's songs on the album, verbal descriptions, on two other threads earlier today... "X17 Video: Adam Lambert & Sauli Stay Strong At Katsuya 1-10-12" and "Picture: Adam Lambert with Byron Cooke" ...The blog is printed in full on both threads if you cannot access the link below. By the way, as usual, there was so much "traffic" trying to get to this link earlier today that Byron's site crashed...Back running fine now!

The link is here:

http://byroncooke.com/6newtracks/

Go to either of the two 24/7 blog threads above or cut and paste the link to Byron's blog...it will definitely be worth your while!!!

***The 24/7 blog thread links can be found on the right side of this page..just click and go to either of them...Hoping admin will post it as its own Thread.

The audio part of the interview will be posted tomorrow (Thursday), per @Byroncooke on twitter or at www.byroncooke.com

The actual video will be sent to Adam's management/label for review, according to Byron Cooke on twitter tonight...and should be ready in 2 or 3 days at most... VERY anxious to see it!!

I can't believe they picked kelly clarkson.I feel so sad for adam.

Anonymous said...

why would any one even mention that maybe they did not ask Adam to sing at the super bowl because he is gay so what they have gay foot ball players so what does it make a difference I hate it when that is even brought up only narrow minded people would even let that cross their minds it does not not matter!

Anonymous said...

I also was soooooo hoping that Adam would be asked to sing the National Anthem at the superbowl. I signed the petition and kept my fingers crossed. I like Kelly and she can definitely belt out a song. She's getting a lot of publicity lately. I also heard she would be an "advisor" on the Voice. I hope these big opportunities open up for Adam one day.....like the epic moment in music history when Adam sang with Queen at the EMAs.

Loved the Virgin Radio interview. He's so totally articulate and intelligent..I'm glad he faced the truth and owned up to the Finland incident. I'm sure there will be other questions from other interviewers in the future. I love Adam's soul, he's truly a kind, loving person.

@Anon; 11;24 - We know there are gay football players but name one "out" player? And if you dont think the fact that Adam is gay doesnt play a hugh part in his lack of support here in the USA, you must not get out much! ... Adamluv

I'm disappointed that Adam wasn't asked to sing,as he does such an incredible job singing our national anthem, but after the success of this new album, more mainstream visibility and the glam/glitter put to rest for now, he may have more appeal to the predomintally male, macho sport fans. It's still a male dominated event with gay judgements, unfortunately. I hope Adam's vocal talent will finally transend the ridiculous bias. Many fans requested Adam and the decision may have been made well in advance. At least they have heard Adam's fans make the request and his name is now known. Hopefully next year and there may be a better shot at the 2012 Olympics in the UK. TRhis was a great, friendly interview and Adam does them so well. Adam was really forthcoming, owning up to the Finland incident, taking responsibility and putting it in perspective. He didn't make excuses and handled it well. He's just so genuine and insightful.

I thought I saw on twitter earlier that the fans had now changed the Superbowl petition to 2013....

Anonymous said...

I don't like the word "role model", though. It's for hypocrites. Finland is Adam's second home now. We still have some wilderness.

Anonymous said...

By the way, does one have to to be a "role model" to get to perform at the super bowl? The petition sounds weird to me..

Anonymous said...

Role model is something that is assigned to you by the culture. It happens to athletes a lot and some of them have been held to account for bad behaviour by sportcasters and major media outlets. It definitely puts the pressure on & not all of them like it.(I think it was Charles Barkley who said, in an ad "I am NOT a role model.")

Adam is a role model for LGBTQ kids. He didn't want to be held up as an example at first (and even told Aaron Hincklin that) but as of his last OUT interview, he's accepted it. Nothing hypocritical about deciding to accept the pressure as opposed to fighting it.

Cheril said...

Adam's vocal abilities caught my attention in the beginning. But, as time goes on, along with the vocals I am drawn to his honesty. He called his incident in Finland -- immature. He owned it. He's learning from it. A great lesson there...learn from mistakes. And, what I longed to hear that he is living a healthier lifestyle...cut down on the drinking. Turning 30 is a reflective time. So glad he sees where he can change so that we can enjoy Adam's music for a very long time. Can't wait for his cd. He has said he Executive produced it and it is his baby. It's exciting to hear what Adam has created. Hurry March 20th!

Anonymous said...

Kelly's getting lots of gigs now. Good promotion team.

Anonymous said...

I really like Kelly's voice and I'm glad she's doing well. I don't like sports and politics go hand in hand. Not saying it's the case here though, 'cos I don't know Kelly's management.

Anonymous said...

8:31 why in the world would you have such hate for the USA? How rude. This could have been a rumor even though the twitition was going on, they probably knew who they wanted to sing and just had to arrange the details.
Remember Adam doesnt even go for Football.
Be happy, things are going good for him.

Anonymous said...

superbowl gig has lots to do with connections to WHAT NETWORK IS AIRING GAME (and that is no slam to any particular network at all, at all! My point is that it is all behind the scenes BUSINESS, and not necessarily in a bad way)

Anonymous said...

Stop with the sexuality issue again fans.
There are people across this whole complete globe who are predjudice towards many things.
Its just not in the USA. Like Adam, I'm proud to be an American.
Other countries ban things way worse than the United States.

Anonymous said...

Trespassing is Adams baby. OMG I wish I could have his baby!

Anonymous said...

This interview shows what a class act Adam really is. What an amazing human being. It is an honor to be a fan of his...he knows he is not perfect and never said he was but always strives to learn from his misjudgements. That is what builds who we truly are.
BS

Anonymous said...

@adamluv- I totally agree with you. Adam being gay is a huge factor for some. Sad but true!

Isn't 2nd season of The Voice shown right after Super Bowl? This is all network's business to promote their programs. Competing against FOX network. NBC and FOX are always on each others neck from news to politic to entertainment shows and etc. No surprise there at all. 2012 Olympic is around the corner and if Adam's album does well we might see him perform with Queen. So chill out and support Adam's music for now if you want to see him on T.V. events. Did you contact your local radio stations to play BTIKM? Check out @RequestAdam on twitter for detail information.

It is a tradition among Finns to have a alcohol free January and also eat lighter and healthier, after the festive season in December.

Anonymous said...

Thank you 8:51. Seems Sauli's traditions are becoming Adams.
Everyone should have another half who keeps them in line.

I think it was unrealistic to get one's hopes up to high about Adam and the super bowl this year. Kelly Clarkson is the all american girl who has had many hits on american radio. That has not happened to Adam yet. Also, Kelly seems to be having a mini comeback right now. Anyway, Adam and football don't seem to be a good fit. And I can't help but wonder how that super bowl crowd would react if Adam came out all glammed up with makeup and boots and dare I say it...glitter. Mainstream america's not used to Adam yet. Here's to hoping Trespassing will change all that.

Anonymous said...

I hope Trespassing will do that too, welcome new fans of all ages.
Yes, loose the glitter Adam. If only the media would stop calling him Glambert. He's been there, done that.
Time for some all hee man junk!!!

Anonymous said...

Even if Adam WAS singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, he would NOT come out all glammed up to sing it. He has more sense than that. Also, his really glammy days are over, I think, unless he's doing a really crazy stage thing. He'd sing it straight and beautiful. Football fans tend to prefer the more traditional, all-American, conservative types anyway. Hence, Kelly.

Anonymous said...

I agree that Adam and theSuper Bowl are not the right fit. He doesn't care about football at all. And I am certain that he would not have come out all glammed up in front of the stadium audience. Come on. I would love to see him perform at the Olympics in London this summer. As usual this was an intelligent, articulate, honest interview. That's what I love about Adam. He knows what happened in Finlad was wrong and realizes that his behavior as a role model for young people is very important to him. Can't wait for next week and his two tv talk show appearances and then the official release of that first single. I think that this year is going to be Adam Lambert's best year both professionally and personally.

My husband always has an alcohol free january too, we're Brits, so maybe its a European thing, not just Finland.

(I have an alcohol free 'every' month!!)

Saw an interview today where Adam was asked if he had big plans for his 30th birthday. He said he had no plans as he would be out of the country, and possibly performing that night. So, if he is out of the country on Jan 29, he may not even be back in the USA by Feb 5 (Super Bowl Sunday). So, everything is probably working out for the best. Isn't late Jan & early Feb when he is scheduled to be in the UK for interviews, photoshoots and promotional appearances?

lorraine said...

I have to admit I felt heartbroken yesterday when I heard Adam wouldn't be singing the National Anthem at the Superbowl-mostly because of the global exposure the event has.His beautiful rendition would have been heard by people all over the world. I was so excited about the possibility that I even told my husband about it and he smiled because he remembered the beautiful performance of the Star Spangled Banner that Adam gave on the naval base when he came here to SD on homecoming week during Idol.Kelly Clarkson can sing but I'm getting so sick of hearing her voice {SNL, radio etc} and I can't stand that song Mr. Know It All
!!! Enough already! It's time for Adam; his voice has no equal.And-by the way, I DID sign that petition!!!

Anonymous said...

I get so tired of hearing people say things about Adam like "He's not into sports," thus the reason he's not performing. Singing the National Anthem at sporting events is not about sports, it's about who they pick to sing the song. Adam's time will come. Ricky Martin sang at the World Series and I t h i n k he's gay.lol

I'm waiting for Kelly to come out and admit she's gay..that will end a lot of speculation. It seems to be the popular thing to do these days.

Anonymous said...

oh that is so comical about Kelly. she's already denied being gay.

but who cares, i think the whole world should admit to being universal!! because you never know where love will lead!!!

I've seen people break the bars before and be with others you'd of never thought.

Anonymous said...

@Adamluv (12:00am)...thanks so much for your comment, you said it so much better than me! Sad but true, there are so many homophobic people in the US. And the SuperBowl is such a macho/manly event, I just don't think they'd go for Adam (their loss). My own San Antonio radio station mix96 fm doesn't play his music, n I can't help but feel it's 'cause of his sexual orientation. In the US, Adam has to work twice as hard to get his music heard...so not fair!

Hopefully, 2012 will bring more acceptance n success for such a special n talented man!
