What surprises me is that it didn't happen sooner.

What great news! It will continue to soar, esp. after Trespassing comes out.

they're only playing it on one station in the washington dc area.....2 or 3 times a day....they should be playing it on all the stations

It feeds off of us and our replies.

This is a really mean thing to say but I've sometimes wondered if our current troll might be the super jealous Perez Hilton.

omg there are so many people waiting in the wings for this song to flop. Why? I don't understand it. I always hope everyone does well no matter who and if I don't really know them I could care less. Jealousy?

@ 10:55 Maybe FLOP is too strong of word to describe the current success of BTIKM. As a point of objective observation, I think it's more fair to say that the single has not been creating the amount of buzz, or generating the amount of attention for Adam Lambert and his upcoming album that his label and team of people would like to see in order the show that he has a solid, marketable presence in popular music. Until a single gains significant airplay, a solid chart position, and certain number of views, calling it a roaring success might not be apt, but i would not call it a flop either. It's his first single from a new album after being away for about 2 years. I expect it will take the general music buying public a little time to warm back up to him. Once everyone knows he's back, he second single, whatever it is, might fare better.Hopefully one of his singles really breaks through before the album is released(whether by air play, digital sales, word of mouth or someone giving Adam a chance to perform on a major platform like an Award show or something and convince people himself).

May be Nicki M got these 3,000,000 views over night but I didn't read any good comment about this video she released few weeks ago. Forgot the name of this sh.....Sorry:)
But BTIKM didn't get any negative comments. Yes, there are some homophibic idiots who just likes to say somenting about Adam. But nobody said that BTIKM stupid, rediculous or discussing.
Sorry for my spelling but this comment about me as a wife of the enemy hurt me a lot

During one of Adeles acceptance speeches the other nite at the Grammies, she made a point of thanking the radio station music programers (spelling?). She said that without their choosing to play her song it never would have reached the level of success that it did. Guess it's not always just the Frat boy DJs ignoring Adam. Dont know if there is much we can do to reach the peeps behind the scenes. Any suggestions? ... Adamluv

tess4ADAM said...

@Adamluv ... Since this is the 'suits' behind the DJs ... shouldn't ADAM's management be pushing harder behind the scenes?? Isn't that why ADAM changed management ... so that they would be able to represent ADAM as the artist that he is?? Who is handling these guys (PDs, etc.) & why is it taking so long for them to start playing BTIKM? NOT be/cuz the Glamberts aren't doing everything WE can to help!! Time for those people to start EARNING their salary ... JMO ... sorry if I came on too strong!! ..Love 'n Light

@tess4ADAM Unfortunately,it seems like Katy Perry's management isn't so good as we expected so. And there don't have enough money to promote Adam. Adam deff needs somebody like GaGa's or Adele's or Bruno Mars' management. I think Justin B doesn't have real management. He has his big brother Usher & Co. Justin is (was) some sort of investment.

just a thought I'm throwing into the ring: it took a loonnng time for a song like, for example Andy Grammar's "keep your Head up" to get good radio play. I happened upon the song early and loved it and so listened to it all the time, by the time it took off on radio, and it did, I was personally a bit tired of it, but was so thrilled for Grammar that it finally hit. I know Andy Grammar doesn't have the kind of exposure Lambert has, and Lambert's BTIKM should definitely have more radio play by now, that is def where the radio suits come in! I hear that new Demi Lovato song getting instant airplay, so maddening (luckily, of all those tween queens etc., she's actually got some pipes and I actually like her so that makes me feel better) and someone like Enrique Iglasias gets instant radio spins w/ less than stellar songs, it is indeed frustrating...but still, like the Andy Grammar song, it does take quite a while for some artists to get good radio play, I'm still very hopeful. And btw, it's Sunday, vote for BTIKM on Open House Party!

WHY!?I don't get

I think Adam's management realize that Adam will be an international star. Just not necessarily this nation! Europeans and Asians and the ever adorable Aussies seem to 'get him' more than our own country. Yes, there are a lot of us Glamberts, but we aren't numerous enough to make him a star!
He's doing well in this country as a relative newcomer. But he may never be as BIG as you want him to be. I'm grateful his management has been sending him out to all these countries, the album will be met with enthusiasm, which will give it a better chance for a tour.
The USA of today is not the country it was before the 2000's arrived, we took a big step backward when the Texan took over.
IMO We lost some of our free spirit.

I'm not ready to give up on Adam being a major star in the music world in the US, as well as the rest of the world..And I'm not going to discredit his new management..He's heavily into promotion and this is only the beginning.

About his most recent single: "Better Than I Know Myself"..This song was obviously his way of introducing his new music to his fans and the world at large. It was no doubt released with that purpose in mind. We know that Adam likes to tell a story with his music: BTIKM is the Prolog to Trespassing.. It's a gorgeous song with a really good music video, which I think is his best MV yet. Perfect into to Trespassing the Album. The MV is just starting to hit VH1, MTV, etc.. And I'm sure it'll be on the VH1 Countdown next weekend. It wasn't on the Top 20 on VH1 this weekend because the shows are taped ahead..All I can say is: wait until it hits VH1 full force...Not only that, but I think Adam and his management have much bigger songs in store for us..judging from what those who have been lucky enough to hear some of the tracks. And there are even more that he's just added..

Unfortunately, Adam has to work harder than some artists to be heard for various reasons. He isn't completely "proven" yet like Lady Gaga or Katy Perry..(No sense discussing the merits of each)..Its just the way it is. I really would prefer to maintain a positive attitude like Adam does...He knows his challenges..and just keeps forging ahead, working his ass off, and thanking his fans for sticking with him. Sure, he needs new fans to make it really big, but that will happen as the new music is released and more people realize what an amazing and worthy talent he possesses. And what a beautiful human being he is.

I know, I sound a little bit like a "Pollyanna" here: positive attitude and all, but I truly believe in Adam and that 2012 will be his year. And the 2013 Grammys will reflect that...I suppose I could be wrong, but I think there is an excellent chance that I'm right : )) I really hate and am a little saddened by the negativity I've been seeing here lately, by a few doom and gloom sayers..I'm here to love Adam and his potential for greatness, not predict a nosedive into obscurity. Not happening.....

I have to admit I worry just a tiny bit about him sometimes, with the obstacles in his way: Homophobia and hate, the "eyerolls" he has mentioned when his name is mentioned in some circles, his association with Idol, for instance, his desire to be himself but at the same time appealing to a wide audience....but I really think he's making right decisions and I also think his label and management are behind him 100 %.. I think we as fans should be too.

So excited that BTIKM Music Video has been view over 3 million times.

Adam never gets airtime in the city I live in.It really burns my a**I am very open minded and support gay rights but I am one of the few in this city or state.I don't know why they don't get it.People have the right to be with and to marry who they want.I can't stand ignorance and intolerance so no they will never play it in this city no matter how many times it's requested.I saw Adam twice on his last tour and had to travel to so and it was so worth it.I just adore him and I like that he speaks his mind. Can't wait for the Album and the next tour.

I agree with 3:37 pm

Our country seems to have taken a giant step backward in time. I remember when it was a good thing to be liberal and PROgressive, in fact, it was when we were a leader of countries, before we started stepping on toes and alienating many countries and ignoring the United Nations with our leaders arrogance and ignorance. When our current President came into office he tried to repair our reputation and it was recognized and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. But look at the struggle to move ahead. Tiny steps forward for civil rights for all, bullies who bluster to veto their states legislative decisions, candidates who state sex for pleasure is wrong only sex for procreation is acceptable. And birth control is wrong? Welcome to a new world ladies, planned parenthood is wrong? In this crowded world of overpopulation? Are we in the Vatican?
Though lack of sex has never been a problem there. Popes begatting Popes begatting Popes. Evangelical Christians turning into hate mongers. I'm surprised Adam hasn't been stoned. Westboro would have.
I know this is no place for this rant, I've just had it and needed a place to scream. Don't worry, I won't be back. I'll just buy Adam's music and say a prayer or two for his success and take my anger elsewhere. It was interesting here for awhile and I wish you all well. Valerie S.

boy oh boy we let the trolls take over from the very beginning of the tread again, we are getting pretty good at letting that happen.

Hi, ladies! What's going on! Now we got politic, religion, and woman rights comments on this blog! OMG!
After all, we got just one negative comment about BTIKM. And this comment made everybody mad, upset.I even would say "panicked" after I read Valerie S. comment.
Be happy, relax, who care about any charts, numbers, etc. As far as Adam will write and perform his songs we have to be the happiest Glamberts army! Shall we?

This music video is very good. I must have watched it ten times already and still noticing things.

glitzlady, I love your lengthy, sensible post. You and I agree a majority of the time. I don't think of myself as a Pollyanna either. I'm realistic. But I also see a talent in Adam that cannot be ignored. He isn't going anywhere, even if he isn't Bieber/Gaga right now.

He WILL continue to perform and record new music in the future. He has obstacles to overcome, and he faces a listening audience that isn't always very accepting of someone they may find threatening to their beliefs and their comfort zone. Typical listerers aren't very discriminating when it comes to quality. It's the nature of the business and he knows it.

I predict a long, slow rise for him. Frustrating, to be sure, but there is no way he's going to wind up doing something else for a living. He will sing. He will perform. He may act, produce, go into other areas of media along with this music. He is NOT disappear. I am NOT discouraged. I excited. He's a gem.

Glitzylady n DRG...I'm right there with you! Adam is a special once in a lifetime performer, and I really feel he will become a megastar, it's just gonna take time. Yes, it's so frustrating to see the same less-talented singers getting all the publicity, radio play and award show invites. But his time will come.

BTIKM seems to be doing really well outside the US. This makes the US seem so backwards, out of touch, close-minded, and yes, homophobic. I hate that he has to work twice as hard, when everyone in the music biz knows he's the best male pop singer of this generation!! Oh well, I choose to remain hopeful n to believe that 2012 will be the year of Adam, just like 2011 was the year of Adele!

Light n luv to all us Glamberts!

@adamluv, I think I mentioned it in a previous post, but my local DJ told me to call the program director to request BTIKM,because she said he adds the new songs, not her. She said if it was up to her she would play Adam all the time. This was @ Sandy who had that great interview in San Francisco. She told me to call the station program director in the evening when he worked. I did, but he said he would see what he could do. Still nothing from that 106.5 station! That was weeks ago...

JAK here........Well you certainly can't say that Adam doesn't stir up passion!
